hi ladies
i am hoping to sway pink. i have been on the LE everything diet for 3 months (10 pounds down, so hooray) and have tried clomid to conceive. now we are moving on to IUI this cycle. i took clomid 100 mg CD 3-7 and will trigger with ovridil 36 hours before IUI. i was wondering if anyone has tried swaying with IUI? obviously, i can't do anything with timing.
thanks in advance.

Timing doesn't sway so no worries there :)
I say you have good chances with your weight loss and clomid

IUI does tend to sway blue, but going on the LE Diet and doing Clomid sure can't hurt!! Good luck!!

IUI does not sway blue!!! I had a long conversation with my RE about this. I conceived with an IUI back in March and then had a miscarrage and she was a girl! I did the LE diet and lost a few pounds right before the IUI. I know many people who had girls with IUI! There is hope. I am going to do an IUI again in June so I have been back on the LE diet. Praying I make another girl!

When we say something sways a particular way, that is in NO WAY a guarantee, it means that it's somewhat more likely. Just a general trend in that direction and just because it wasn't true for one person, doesn't mean it isn't true. I don't ever say things for fun and amusement, I say them because I have seen evidence that they sway a particular way. It may be by a very tiny amount, or it may be a lot.
There are millions of people who smoke, who do not die of lung cancer but that doesn't mean cigarettes don't cause lung cancer.

The other peice here is you are doing an LE diet (i also belive any diet that is low in calories) does sway heavily and can counteract the IUI!

RE's don't believe in gender swaying so just like with all doctors, they'll say it doesn't work or that it's impossible.

Atomic Sagebrush, I would love to read the articles and/or studies that say IUI's sway blue. Do you have a link? I just had IUI #3 yesterday and I am again hopeful for a girl repeat. Would love to read more on the subject, thanks!

can't answer today due to lack of time but will try to get back with you, it is not as straightforward as that and will require a lengthy explanation.
Studies are just about meaningless when it comes to gender swaying.

Does IUI sway boy regardless of the man's sperm because of the wash? Or is the theory it sways blue a Shettles leftover? If I'm swaying pretty heavily blue and do IUI, is that a strong blue tactic?

If I'm swaying pretty heavily blue and do IUI, is that a strong blue tactic?I'd say it would be! I am doing my first IUI this week with injectibles and i am terrified it sways blue (ttc girl). I think you're good if you are doing HE diet with it

It is likely a combo of the wash, and the fact that all the sperm are capacitated all at once (by the wash) and deposited up inside where they have an easier journey.
As you may recall, I have suspicion that something about sperm capacitation may be a mechanism for swaying.
But this is all speculation. The reason why I believe it sways is because I have seen studies in which they were allegedly investigating timing, and they gave the women who wanted girls Clomid and had them BD 3 days before O (which - I'd like to know how they predicted that since O is not even remotely predictable on Clomid, but I digress) and then the ones who wanted boys were unmedicated and they had IUI on O Day. Since timing has been debunked to my satisfaction (and there is NO WAY they could have actually predicted 3 days before O for the women on Clomid anyway) that leaves only the Clomid/IUI variables and I can't conclude anything other than that Clomid sways pink (which not only studies but subsequent results have shown yeah it does) and IUI sways blue. We haven't had enough results for blue swayers doing IUI (NOT AT HOME!!) to prove this yet but that's why I believe it does.
