My co workers have scheduled a 3d ultrasound for me on Monday to find out my babies gender, I will be 14weeks 1 day but at my NT scan I was measuring ahead by a few days...my question is do I wait until 15 weeks to go or is that enough time to even get an accurate guess? Thanks in advance

I've heard of a few people recently on hear who were told the wrong thing at 14 weeks so I'd wait until more like 16 weeks and then you can pretty confident with what they tell you!

Wait wait wait!!! I went on a huge unnecessary roller coaster because I went too early! I was told boy, I was 14w3d but measured 15w1day I cried and then moved on to planning the rest of my life with 4 boys, and never having my daughter. Then to my excitement I was told 100% girl at 21,22, and 23 weeks!

I'm going for my early scan tomorrow even though I'll only technically be 14+1. I'm measuring a little big for dates. I need the closure and I feel pretty confident in the tech's ability.

I'm going for a gender scan at 17 weeks 3 days. But I'm actually on a waiting list to go sooner. I don't think I would go before 16 weeks though. I'm 14+2 today.

I would definitely wait if you can!! Esp if you think you will be disappointed if you hear boy again. Like Thorz said, it can lead you on an unnecessary roller coaster! Or even worse, being told girl and getting over the moon excited only to have it really turn out to be a boy!

Are you on IG BG4M? There is an article by charliecats on why not to get an gender scan in the 14th week. I guess it's just really challenging to know.

Ladies at the u/s place they have the initial scan and than have you come back around 17-18 weeks to "confirm" I may reschedule the initial scan for 15 weeks though thank you for all the input!!

Oh my gosh I have a feeling this would happen to me, so glad you got your girl! Hoping I hear the same

DD3 still had a really prominent nub at 14 weeks (it wasn't a gender scan) but was obviously a girl at 19 weeks. Personally, I'd wait. Some babies seem to be really clear cut but others are loads more ambiguous.

I know the majority of people on here would tell you to wait a few more weeks. But I just had to know as early as possible. My 14 weeks private gender scan was actually more clear and convincing than my 19 weeks scan. I also got better pictures from the private scan. The early scan showed flat nub and three lines, whereas my anatomy scan only showed absence of boy parts (no girl parts whatsoever!)

Sounds like a good plan :) Be sure to ask for both side and potty shot pics of the gender.
