I received a reply to me email and thought I would share! This could explain why I keep getting significant difference in my readings? I have not been calibrating it daily!

Our PH Tester, Q-1416, only used the 7 buffer solution, this can be ordered as a spare part through your local store under catalog number Q 14160B0015 Buffer Solution pH7 $2.50. Each time you use the meter it needs to be calibrated.

Some info on the Q-1416

The PH meter can be used in oils but would need to be thoroughly cleaned after use as to not leave a film on probe.

Water has to be free of movement, Will not work in running water.

Constant temperature, unit has to be pre-soaked (left in water to setup)

Life expectancy is 12 months, most units 1-3 years.

Buffer Solution: Put the probe in the buffer solution to calibrate.

If the calibration wont allow it to adjust to 7 then it may be that the unit is faulty.
