This is a general question, and sorry if it's dumb. I have a very regular cycle of 28 days like clockwork. Well, I tried using opk and never ever got a positive so I've been worried that I may not be ovulating! Well, every month on CD 7-CD 9/10 I get CM. not a whole lot because I take a lot of allergy medication but I do notice it when I wipe. I have tried mucinex and green tea in the past with no luck in increasing length of time I have cm. does this possibly mean I ovulate super early?? I don't chart my tempature, or take any supplements. Thanks for any insight!

You may have a longer than average luteal phase..the luteal phase is normally 14 days long and on an average it can be anywhere from 10 to 17 days long. The luteal phase starts day after O and up to AF's arrival. So with a 28 day cycle, it is entirely possible that you O on CD 9 or 10, giving you longer LP.

I would say, next cycle, start testing at CD 6. Oh and if it makes you feel better, I hardly ever get +OPKs. I'm thinking I must have a very short surge or something....

It is totally normal not to get pos OPK. Some people never get them.

It is also totally normal to have a big burst of CM a few days before ovulation. Remember, people aren't designed to take baths and so that is nature's way for a lot of people - when the fertile window opens, your body cranks out some CM for what is to come. It doesn't mean your body is doing anything weird or wrong, it just means that is your natural pattern for CM (and the allergy medication can't be helping!!)

If you have a regular 28 day cycle, the odds are very very good that you ovulate on CD 14.

yes you can O before CD 14. I O sometimes on day 11, 12, 13. But most of the time 14,or 15.

Right. But it's pretty uncommon to have a long LP like that. So if a person has a 28 day cycle, since the LP is most likely 14 days, that puts their ov. at CD14 :)
