Hi Im new to this site. Iam 34yrs old and have 3 beautiful children. I have a son from a previous relationship and 2 girls with my husband and we have decided we would like another child and if possible to try for a blue sway but would be just as delighted with another girl.

I came off the pill in the beginning of May and have been using fertility friend to try and help pinpoint ovulation. My cycle is 27 days long and I tend to ovulate on day 12. So for this attempt I have increased my salt and ate loads of bananas and have cut down on dairy. I am using the shettles method. I used the ovulation kits which showed a positive late on thursday evening (CD11) and my BBT dipped to its lowest on Friday morning (CD12) so we dtd late lunchtime on Friday. I douched 15 mins before and got my ph to around 7 and hubby had large glass of cola around 45 mins before. He has been wearing loose boxers and we hadnt had sex for 6 days befoer hand. We did it doggy style and he ensured I had an O before he did. sorry for TMI. I felt sick a few hours later and still got a pos OPK that evening. On Sat morning my BBT had a sharp rise however my OPK was still positive. I felt awful that day and still had EWCM (but could have been from dtd) and felt sick and low tummy discomfort. Later that day my EWCM changed to dry and I got a neg OPK. According to Shettles when you 1st detect a Pos opk it can mean it has started to surge 5-6hrs before and he recommends 24hrs from time of 1st pos OPK. We did the deed a few hours before this and I think my actual ovulation happend perhaps during the night of Fri or even into Sat. Could it be possible to have been feeling sick as a result of fertilisation as I have heard people saying they have been sick the day after they must have conceived. Please let me know your opinions of my timing as Im scared I have jumped the gun a little and should have perhaps waiting until that eveing rather than the afternoon. G x

Hi Gilz,

Best of luck with for your attempt. Most people here do not believe in shettles timing. Atomic has an essay on it somewhere. I am on my phone otherwise I could post the link to it. Also we like to DTD regularly to increase sperm numbers and get a couple of attempts in during your fertile window.( this is what I did and have 2 weeks to go before I meet my DS. My DD was a single attempt right at ovulation after abstaining) The abstaining is something that the girl swayers do.

You may want to look into it if you get a BFN this cycle.Have a look at what the ladies with successful sways did ( also most of them ate dairy) However if you do get a BFP then you still could have a blue bean in there.

Timing doesn't sway and you cannot pinpoint O by analyzing your symptoms.

I really really really do not advise 6 days abstain for TTC a boy. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/5636-frequency-bd-pink-blue.html and one attempt has swayed pink pretty strongly for us, we are doing 3-5 attempts just before ovulation for TTC a boy. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/9736-how-many-attempts-should-i-do-when-pink-blue.html

I am going to cross my fingers and say a little prayer that you guys get BFN this month and you can do some more reading to see if you may change your mind on what you want to do for your sway. You don't have to do it "our" way but I just want you to hear both sides before you make up your mind.
