TTC Girl and Dr gave me Femara!!!!

I feel gutted this will be my first cycle on Femara after LTTTC!!! I've had a cyst so the FS didn't want to over stimulate me.... Well yesterday at my scan the Cyst was gone so I was excited that I would finally get Clomid!!! Nope he have me Femara which everything I read points to Boy!!! He also wants to do a trigger shot on CD12 and a IUI!!! The IUI isn't a must do DH has I high sperm count but due to a Varicocle has 24% motility and 80% abnormalities w progression at a 3!!! I'm 37 so I'm sure age is the issue for not giving me Clomid but I just feel like my sway went out the window!!! Any advice would be appreciated!!!

Femara doesn't sway blue, it just doesn't sway pink. So I recommend it to blue swayers instead of Clomid, but not because it's swaying blue, it's because it's neutral and Clomid sways pink.

Femara IS better for you if you are over 35. Please don't despair, you can still get a girl!! Even with an IUI, your diet can make a difference. I would just do diet and exercise and the Femara, trigger, and IUI, and get pg. If you don't get pg, you have 0.00% chance at a girl!!!

Thank you for responding Atomic!!! Im kinda afraid of my Diet cuz I have A lot of exceptions!! I'm hypoglycemic and hypothyroid.... I've cut the big NOnos out and my FS also started me on DCI!!! I read on the PCOS thread that it lowers T so hopefully it will counteract the Femara raising it!! Also not sure if u remember my DH is the one W the Vericocele and high PH!! His sperm count is high like 125mil w 24%motility and 81%abnormalities and a 3 progression!!

I'm thinking a IUI isn't A must do.... What do U think!!
I think if we BD every other day up to trigger shot or day after we should be good!!!??

I should get my trigger in a week really trying my best to line everything help and advice would be appreciated!!!

Hi, I am no expert on any of this, but I did request from our doctor several years ago that we try on our own for 2 months (with an ovulation stimulation drug) before trying with the IUI, and he was fine with it. Any chance you could request that? I don't see why he would refuse that! Then, you can try on your own and control a lot of the sway factors, and if things don't work out in a couple of months, you will be ready to try the IUI. Overall, it is much more cost-effective medicine to not do the IUI!

Thank U for the response I did tell my Dr I think we will try W meds and trigger this month and if we don't get PG we will do the IUI next time!!! It doesn't cost much for us at all cuz our ins covers it just not the wash!!

As best I Can I have to Alter the diet because I'm Hypoglycemic have Hypothyroid and I'm allergic to milk!!! Lol

We did cut out all the major NOnos and I'm excersising and trying to loose weight!!!

So what is the issue with abnormalities? Are you taking an 80% chance of abnormalities if you TTC on your own?

No 80% of his sperm is abnormal so they won't beable to make it or get inside the egg if they do!!! The abnormalities cut down his count so it's sways pink!! He still has 25 mil to make it which is good!!!

DCI may help sway pink :agree:

Clomid can raise testosterone too so don't worry too much about that. It's what happens when you surpress estrogen, your body has all these raw materials floating around and decides, "hey, I'm gonna make some testosterone". LE Diet and fiber will help with that as will the DCI.

Yes I remembered about your husband. It's up to you what to do - if you need IUI to get pg, you shouldn't hesitate to do it - people do get girls that way too. I really think you'd be better off having one IUI versus DTD several times. DTD several times may sway blue and at the least with IUI, it's going to be one attempt.

LE Diet does not involve milk. That's French and IG Diets. I got my DD with both my husband and I hardly having any dairy at all after getting 4 boys eating tons of it, and DS 4 was a failed IG sway where I was taking sky high doses of clacium.

The SPERM are abnormal, meaning they have defects which makes it more difficult for them to swim. So IUI deposits them closer to the egg which makes it easier for the sperm to get to where they need to be.

Has nothing to do with babies born from those sperm!

Thank U Atomic!!! We are doing a LE I've just heard so much about dairy and yogurt so I'm confusing myself!! Lol

DH hasn't gotten a SA since the Uroligist put him on Antibiotics to see if it was an infection causing the abnormalities!! He was having pain in his Varicocle and it's gone now so maybe it's improved!!

I'm taking my last does of Femara today and go for a Scan Wed. I'll talk to them more about the IUI!!

Oh, yes, that is great. So when you do your attempt, you will try right around O I assume, and deposit deep :). Hope it works out! I would also be reluctant about the IUI too, in terms of sway. I got my DS1 with IUI (didn't have a preference then, though). :)

Lil Update went for a US today I have 6 Follies on Both ovaries so that's 12 Total.... Kinda freaking out a bit.... But they are all small about 10mm!!!

Hopefully a few will take the lead and give us a good chance!!!

Went for my CD12 scan and I have a 20mm Follie on the left and a 14mm on the right!!!

I was suppose to get a call for the Dr about when to do my trigger shot... I think they where wanting the right one to get bigger but I'm afraid the left one will be too big!!!

Either way no call so I'm lost as to what to do!!!

Well looks like we R on to Round 2 of Femara!!! We will be doing IUI this cycle cuz I don't want my T to keep going up and FS recommends it!!

Any suggestions to help w the IUI and sway PINK I see so many boys come from IUIs so I'm kinda scared!! :(
My FS does a spinning but just to seperate the sperm and washes it does that sway either way??
Do u think timming of the IUI matters at all?? How many Hrs after trigger its done??

Do exactly what your doctor advises you to do on timing and on DH's release patterns. It is very difficult to get pg with IUI so you should not do anything that can affect your odds negatively.

Well we didn't get to do the IUI or even the trigger this month as my body took over and I Od way earlier than expected!!! DH was outta town for most of this

We got in a few times right after O so we will see in a few weeks!!

Atomic I'm wondering if freezing sperm for storage sways?? So this doesn't happen again and I can do the IUI if he is outta town again!!

We honestly don't know the answer to that, some of the washing methods may sway but wihtout knowing what they're using, I can't really comment.

Just wanted to update my thread I had 2 follies on my right ovary this month none on my left!!
I did my trigger 7Am 8/26 went for IUI at 10Am and DH count was way low only 1mil post wash!!!
So we opted to do a 2nd IUI 8/27 at 10am his #s where a Lil better at 4.4mil post wash!!!
Got my temp spike this Am officially in the TWW!!!

After 3 non medicated cycles during the Holidays and our Move. It was our 1st round back on Femara + Trigger and IUI!! The iUI was actually done about 6 Hrs after O w 11mIl post wash so my Dr was surprised by my BFP!!
I also took VITEX and DCI everyday except for the days I took Femara!

My HCG took a bit to double

I did want to mention for anyone else reading this, that while this combo worked for sis, I do not recommend the use of vitex while doing Femara or Clomid.

D-chiro-inositol.

It is like myoinositol but I do not recommend using DCI. While it did work for the PP, it has been shown in studies to not only not work as well as myo-inositol, it actually may impair fertility and should be avoided when TTC.

I know this is an older thread here but wanted to mention a new study indicated Femara does indeed sway pink in a similar fashion as Clomid and it may be easier to get pregnant using it.
