View Full Version : Did I leave it too late?

Hi all,

So I am freaking out now. I used Clearblue Digital OPK's last month but started testing too early as I had a ridiculously long cycle (44 days). This month I thought I would test later as my cycle was so long the previous month.

I had a negative OPK on Monday afternoon so I decided to buy a saliva scope which I have used successfully before as a back up. I started using this on Tuesday morning with no ferning. On Wednesday morning I had small ferning but I didn't test with an OPK for some reason, then on Thursday morning I got strong ferning and a positive OPK smiley.

I didn't dtd that night as we are trying for a girl and I wanted to wait another day as hubby is abstaining and we were a day short of recommended days of abstinence. The following day after positive OPK I had af like cramping the whole day. I am assuming this meant ovulation was coming up? We dtd late that night. I had a very small amount of EWCM, only twice when I wiped. Today I am still experiencing mild af like cramps all day. We will not be dtd again this cycle.

My concern is what if I had a positive OPK on the Wednesday that I forgot to test? That would mean when I did test it was actually the second positive? So in fact I would've missed the egg completely? And what do you think my af like cramps all day were the day after my positive OPK? Do you think I have any hope this month?

Thank you!

I recommend getting some Internet Cheapies as well. that way you can test daily with those and then if you start getting darker, you can save the superexpensive Clearblues for confirmation.

I think you need to let go of the questions because it's done now and no changing it. Focus on next month, because swaycession will serve you no purpose other than to raise your T levels for next month's attempt if need be.

The fact is that you could have done everythign perfectly right and still gotten BFN. None of these things even matter now, your attempt is over and I don't think picking apart attempts that are already done, is in any way helpful to you (or me either LOL)

Buy some IC's and start testing with them earlier next month.

You can have pains before, during, and after ovulation. Doesn't tell you anything reliable.
