Mum23 moxibustion is a form of acupuncture, i was skeptical to begin with as its not me (if that makes sense). You burn sticks near your little toes and the heat from burning the moxa sticks is supposed to stimulate the baby's movements and encourage it to turn.
Scan and consultant tomorrow, really hoping for good news but i can see me getting booked in for a section. I dont think they will even offer a version with me measuring small. I'm keeping my fingers crossed tho.
Loving all the baby pics, sooo gorgeous :D x

Salsa -- aww, what a darling baby girl she is. So happy for you. :)
Fish -- your boys are so cute. I love the big brother shirts. Can't wait to put shirts like that on my boys!
DLTAG -- still rooting for you and your little lady. I hope they'll at least give the version a try...
I just got back from my OB appt. Last week I was 2cm and 50%, well today I am 3-4cm and 70-80% effaced! Baby also went from a -2 to a -1 station. My OB did a membrane sweep and I think it was the single most painful procedure I have ever had down there short of giving birth. I nearly fainted and it brought tears to my eyes! I had two sweeps with DS2 and they weren't a big deal at all! So all is set for my induction on Saturday (which will be nipple stimulation and breaking my water, should be all I need), unless I go into labor on my own before then. I am crampy now with lower back pain...

Good Luck Diva, I hope you go into labor on your own!!! I am getting so very envious of you ladies!!! I want this BABY OUT so bad! I cannot sleep, I pee my pants about 3 times a day lol, I don't fit into any of my clothes anymore, I dont want to buy new stuff because I only have 3.5 weeks left. My hips feel like they are cracking and breaking every time I move. I have to wake DH up in the middle of the night to have him help me roll over.
Dr has given me the go ahead to take EPO orally and then I can insert it vaginally in a week. I have very little hopes that this girl will make an early appearance.

Oh Thorz, you poor thing, that sounds so rough! I don't know how you feel about meds but a lot of women get a prescription of Ambien at the end of their pregnancy to help them sleep. I have taken a few (somewhat begrudgingly) and I can't take you how much better I feel the next day. Things like Benadryl or Unisom leave my groggy on the other hand.
I've been taking evening primrose as well but mostly orally because I am too lazy to try to reach down there, lol. I am just too big and uncomfortable! My dose is 1000mg although I was told I could go up to 2000mg. I am a very inconsistent vitamin and supplement consumer though. :)

Oy, my lower back is absolutely killing me. I would just love to know if this is early labor or not...TMI but I've also been going to the bathroom a lot since yesterday.
Yes, it looks like in our group here, I'm next? I think there will be a bit of a gap between this bundle of babies that has just been born and the next set. Thorz, I know the anticipation must be killing you! It's a tad bit cruel that so many of us are done in August and you've got some time left. Hang in there, we are all rooting for you and can't wait!

August 30th, 2013, 07:21 AM
I fell down the stairs again last night, I just CANNOT walk anymore with these hips! You're right sometimes the 3.5 weeks seems like ages away and other days I cannot believe how close it is. But because of the pain, it mostly seems like forever.
Mum I don't remember are you going naturally or being induced? My induction date is set for sept 23
Mum to three girls
August 30th, 2013, 07:47 AM
Hopefully going naturally but we'll see. With this being my VBAC my OB is being a bit more bossy (!) which I'm more than happy with. The things that are going against me going spontaneously (as I see it) are the size of the baby - he was looking enormous at 32 weeks although had settled down thereafter and my blood pressure which is a bit up and down. My blood pressure has crept up in the third tri in 3 out of 4 pregnancies though and it's never been high enough to need meds or induction before or turned into PET so it'll probably stay fine. At this stage I'm assuming I'll go naturally though. I've had labour start spontaneously at 38, 39 and 40 weeks before though so I have no idea what to expect really.
There are big advantages in terms of sorting out the other three with a planned induction though. My OB won't do "social" inductions before 39 weeks however and there's a reasonable chance he'll have come by himself by then.
I can't believe how many babies have come already!

Well had a scan this morning and shes still breech, her feet are in front of her face. They offered a version but i turned it down, really dont know if i made the right decision but it looks like a c-section in definite. I'm in bits, i was so excited about meeting our little girl but now i'm just terrified.
To make matters worse i didnt even get to see the consultant today and have to wait till next week and they also said they most likely wont do the section early even given my history of early babies and quick labours, really not in a good place right now. Sorry to bring the thread down at such a happy time too :(

Diva, I've had the lower back pain and running to the bathroom in the hours before labor with all of mine! Good luck!
Salsa, Darcey looks so cute and relaxed during her bath. Julian hates baths, it's really the only time he ever cries.
Thorz, Hope you are ok after your fall, you poor thing. I know (somewhat) how you feel though. During those weeks in the hospital I was so uncomfortable and it seemed like my pregnancy would drag on forever. I can't imagine going thru the physical pain you have with your hips on top of the normal discomforts of pregnancy plus the frustration of bed rest! 3.5 weeks will fly by though and you will be holding your little Macie :)
WAG, How are you and Lennon doing? Is your DS3 adjusting better than you thought? Hope you are able to update us soon, it's weird not having you post here lol.

DLTAG, I'm so sorry you are having a tough time. I've never had a c section so I don't know of any good advice to ease your fears but maybe some of the other ladies who've had one can chime in. WantingPink's baby girl was also breech and she had a section so perhaps she can offer some of her experience. I know it's really not what you wanted but try to focus on the end result which is a beautiful baby girl. No matter how she enters the world she will be safe in your arms before you know. I'm sure once you see her it won't matter how she got here. I'm not trying to minimize your disappointment but just want to try and offer a positive perspective. HUGS to you!

There's been a lot of pressure on obstetricians from paeds and neonatologists over the last 10 years or so to shift elective sections from 37/38 weeks to more like 39 plus weeks and more and more public hospitals especially have made it policy. It's because the later the section the less likely it is that the baby will have significant breathing issues. Most 38 week elective sections don't have breathing problems of course but a small but significant proportion do and it can require a NICU admission etc.
The downside of course is that you some women go into labour naturally before their scheduled section but those women are done pretty promptly as "emergencies". It also means that your baby is ready to be born!
Mum to three girls
August 30th, 2013, 04:32 PM
PS I cried a bit about needing a section with DD3 but it was OK and still special. By two weeks after I felt pretty back to normal in terms of pain, stitches pulling etc.
WAG that sounds really painful? How could it have happened?
Thorz, your hip problems does put my whinging into perspective. Every pregnancy though I seem to forget the miseries of the last few weeks.

Just wanted to update quickly that I did indeed go into active labor at 4:20am this morning. Little Evan Christopher was born a bit over 4 hours later at 8:43am in the tub at the hospital. He weighs 8lbs 4oz and measures 21.5 inches. I had a natural birth but it was rough. Threw up three times even at the end during the height of a contraction and the widest part of his noggin also had to be pushed out over two contractions, which took a good 4-5 minutes and left me with a 2nd degree tear. All in all it was a textbook labor and birth but the pain was unbelievably intense. I am SO done, lol. Evan chilled for a few hours before he decided to latch but nursing has been going really well since then! A pleasant change from the other two boys. :) I haven't slept a wink yet because I am too wired and just can't stop staring at him!

Would making a C-section birth plan help? I've never personally made one but it might make you feel more in control. If everything's straightforward she should only get a quick paeds once over - your DH should be able to cut the cord etc then she should be able to be wrapped and given to your DH etc. most hospitals won't separate you in recovery and a good midwife will make sure she has some early breast feeding time, even if you're feeling a bit off. I remember my biggest issue was that my BP - always highish at the end of pregnancy- dropped rapidly in theatre and stayed low ish in recovery. I had to stay there for ages while it was sorted and was woozey and weird. While I was lying there one of the midwives positioned DD3 so she had a good early feed and even changed sides for me!
We probably need a roll call for who is left. There's DLTAG, mum to three girls, ladylaura, Thorz and who else??

I'm hanging in the best I can, still unable to walk, or get up or roll over on my own! 20 long more days until my induction day arrives. Who is next to go on our list?
Also I've been having dreams that my ultrasound was wrong and she ends up being a he!! That would devastate me!
Mum to three girls
September 2nd, 2013, 07:46 AM

Hey haven't been on in ages but have tried reading up on everything I've missed! Congratulations to all of you that have new babies! They are all so beautiful!!
I'm now 36 weeks have a planned c section for 30th sept! If I last that long! I went into hospital when I was 34 weeks had a bleed, they kept me in for me to have a scan, placenta looked fine so they don't really know what it was. So praying I don't go early. I'd rather go in relaxed on my due day!
This pregnancy is definetly the hardest I've had though, feel painful and quite grumpy! Plus I can hardly walk as I have piles which are horrible, the joys of pregnancy , but it'll be worth it!
I asked again during my last scan what the sex of my little one is, they said girl again! So that means I've had 4 scans which said girl but do u know what I still don't 100% believe it!
Has everyone packed hospital bags etc? Xx

Mel1983 Glad to hear everything went ok with the bleed at 34 weeks! Bleeding is always scary! My induction is 3 weeks from today, and I do not have anything packed. I usually just pack the night before the induction. However, since I am already at a 3 and 80% effaced, I might pack a little earlier. I will be checked again on Friday and if I have progressed at all, I will for sure pack a little earlier, just to be on the safe side!

Thorz, maybe you'll go early? It sounds like your body is getting ready.
Southern, thanks for the roll call update. Salsa, I'm glad all is well with you.
I've just had my 36 week appointment and all is good. Blood pressure is still ok, baby is growing well and there's still heaps of fluid etc. She reckons he's about 3.1kg now (about 6lb 13oz) and given that he's going to be a VBAC if he stays big I've consented to a stretch and sweep around 38 weeks. Like you Thorz, I haven't packed a bag yet and I still need to do a final baby clothes sort. I've promised myself it'll be done by the end of the week.

Had a consultant app this morning and have been given the date of the 17th sept for my c-section, so i will be 39+2. I've spent about 90% of today in tears, i really dont know how i'm going to cope over the next 2 weeks. The consultant also said if i do go into labour it will most likely be quicker, with DS2's labour only being 4 hours i dont even know if i will make the hospital if its any quicker, let alone get in for an emergency section, so s scared at the min :(

I'm feeling very slightly better today... Like I can stand up for 5 mins so that's a step up lol... I go for my test in 5 hours... I'm hoping it's gone but seeing how I'm in pain I'm doubting it...
DLT...I would be devestated at the thought of a section as well... I can't even sugar coat it... I think about the things I would miss out on with a section... I'm so sorry that you have to have one :( I don't know how they are where you are but here basically they take the baby out show it to you and then take them away while you go to a recovery room ... My cousin didn't get to hold her baby for like 4 hours I think... Which she seems okay with but i would def not be... But she's pro c section cause she doesn't want her vagine ruined :s stupidest thing I've ever heard....
How far are you from the hospital? I have super fast labors and I can understand your anxiety with that one! Have you had a cervical check at all?

Dltag three if my friends have had c sections here in the uk and they all had their babies passed straight over to them in theatre you dh could still cut cord if he wants, you can choose music if youd like. When are you next seeing your midwife you can still write a birth plan for c section, if its a while till you next appointment call her and discuss it. Don't spend the last few weeks of pregnancy ever dreading the birth I know how that feels xxx
DLTAG89
September 3rd, 2013, 10:59 AM
I think DH will get to hold baby while i'm stitched back up but to be honest if i'm all out of sorts i wont want to hold her in case i drop her (i know that prob sounds crazy). I was also thinking about a birth plan after mum23 mentioned it but i'd have no idea what i could plan other than DH cutting the cord. I see my MW next tue too and sadly WAG they dont check you over here (the uk) so i wont know if i'm dilating until i get to hospital. The hospital is about a 10min drive but we first have to get DH home from work (40mins) and get the boys dropped of at a friends house.
Whats making it a little harder is everyone keeps telling me how excited they are (mostly family) which makes me feel ungrateful that i'm not excited. Southern, just thought id fill in the blabk :) im due sept 18th.
Been in the day assessment unit most of the morning and mid afternoon, had my weekly check up with the midwife and have high blood pressure including, face, hand and feet odema! Also protein in my wee so was sent up to rule out ore eclampsia and be monitored. After a 4 hour check over I was allowed hone with strict instructions to see a midwife friday and a follow up appointment with the consultant on Tuesday. I had a feeling I was going to be kept in, due to my previous history. Just glad I was allowed home to put my feet up, although I have brought a birthing ball home to help get this babys head fully engagedsettled as she keeps coming in and out of my pelvis (which I know is normal but I want her to stay put) plus ive had a few low period pains and back ache today which has now eased off.
Im so excited for this baby now but at the same time nervous of the pain!

DAlt... Can they give you something for anxiety? And I suggest if you feel like your in labour call ambulance and worst case the kids go with you... I'm sure nurses and what not could bring them to pediatrics playroom til someone could get them...
For all my tests this week I brought lennon along and they had no probs watching him while I was getting my tests
Apparently the embolism is gone... I don't know if I I should be relieved or terrified that they over looked it....

DLTAG, I agree with the others. You should tell your midwife about your hospital/procedure phobia. You won't be the first and maybe she'll be able to help you with some of the specifics like what to expect on admission, in recovery etc. With regard to going into labour, I agree with WAG, just get yourself there when it starts. Is there a neighbour or friend who could come over to look after the boys immediately? Then your DH could organise them properly and go in himself. I think we're often a bit reluctant to ask others for help when most people actually appreciate feeling useful. Hopefully she'll be later and you won't labour first but making a clear plan might make it stop being so overwhelming (I love plans).
Ladylaura, I sympathise with the BP thing. I spent my first pregnancy in and out of day stay units towards the end. I've never had PET though- I hope things stay stable enough for you that bubs gets to choose her own birthday. My OB commented yesterday that if I wasn't a generally relaxed person my labile BP probably would end up being pregnancy induced hypertension so of course I've been anything but relaxed since, thinking about it!
WAG, that sounds good re the clot.

Im thinking I feel dramatically better today... I don't want to jinx it tho... I go for follow up tomorrow along with Lennon for his first check up... They weighed him at the hospital on sunday lol the resident made a mistake was supposed to weigh me it I think and weighed the baby I could hear the drs having a good laugh over that lmao... He weighed 8.10 and was 8 lbs on thurs so he is quickly packing on the weight :(
For those who had their babies and it's your last... Are you feeling sad? You only realize how much of the newborn phase your forget when you have another ... I wonder of I will look at my grand babies the same way I look at my own babies... In my head I doubt it... DH is getting his big V done in October and I def want it done but what if I want another in 10 years... I'm only 26... I know he wouldn't get it reversed nor could I really expect that seeing that we've really had enough kids ...

Glad you had good news WAG, are you feeling any better? x
LadyL glad you were allowed home, staying in hospital isnt nice, much better to be at home x
Sadly we dont get on with our neighbors but we have 4 friends on call to have the boys at the drop of a hat (they are all within a 10min drive too), they do all have children of their own so may not be at home but i'm sure 1 of them will be available if need be. I didnt even think about calling an ambulance but i will be doing if i dont think ill make it in a taxi. I have my midwife next tue but my usual midwife has gone to work at a different docs so i've had a different one each time since 32 weeks, i've explained my fears too them and they really dont seem to care. All they say is "its for the best and your in good hands" and thats it.

Thanks ladies I suppose it could be worse and ive been very fortunate to have such a smooth pregnancy. I went back to a drop in midwife today as my legs resemble the elephant man aswell as a puffy face! Im ready now for this little lady to arrive, ive started on the fresh pineapple and been on my exercise ball for an hour an evening the past two nights. Position of my cervix is still high but after a good root whilst in the bath I can feel its very soft, short and quite a little open (although im not a midwife so have no idea what signs that shows) probably none lol. Still not had a show which id had a few by 36 weeks with DD1, im 38weeks today. Suppose she will come when she is well and ready :)! Is there any of us ladies left having signs of your body preparing? Iv had the odd low dull pains, 2 evenings of heart burn (first for this pregnancy as ive had none) x

I've been feeling period cramps lately and she must have dropped because she is now so low into my pelvis that my hips are in constant pain even when I am lying in bed, there is now no relief from this misery! I'm 37 weeks on Friday, I wish they could induce at 38 weeks, but they wont even try until 39 weeks. Im already at a 3 and 80% dilated so maybe by some miracle she will come on her own before the induction date........Im not holding my breath!!

Also everyone keeps saying that sections arnt that bad but for someone with a HUGE fear of hospitals, needles and anything medical its not as simple. I pass out when having my blood taken so really dont know how i'm going to be.

DLTAG I have had 3 c-sections now and each has been very different. I completely understand your fear of the procedure. When I was PG with DS1 a c-section was the LAST thing I wanted. WAG--Lennon is too cute!!! He looks big and older than he really is. How much was he again at birth? I am so glad to hear that you have bonded so well with him and that things are alright with Ezra. How is the rest of the family adjusting?
I don't know how these things are for everyone else but my pregnancies seem to be way easier (at least the last two) than my recoveries. This time around I am plagued by terrible hemmorhoids that I think have actually thrombosed. It was so bad yesterday I wanted to cry. I just want to savor every minute of this precious all too fleeting newborn phase and the sheer physical pain doesn't allow me to do that. I have been on constant rotations of tylenol and motrin and now a special medication for the hemmies that will hopefully kick in soon.
Other than that things are going well though. Nursing, albeit still painful, is going a lot better than with the other two boys. Evan went from 8lbs4oz at birth to 7lbs11oz at discharge but then two days later at his first pedi checkup he had already gained back 2 oz! I spent over an hour today with a lactation consultant because he does have a recessive chin but she said we are doing a perfect job, given the slight challenge (his bottom gum rubs on the bottom part of my nipple, gouging it a bit, ouch).
My biggest concern right now is keeping Evan healthy because DS1 and DH have come down with a cold and are really showing symptoms as of today. I am beyond anxious and paranoid. DS1 lowered his face all the way to Evan's face this morning and it was too late for me to stop him. :(
Tomorrow I will try to catch up with everyone else on here. Evan is definitely a cluster feeder. We've had 8 and 5 hr nursing marathons (literally less than 5 min breaks between sides, not sure where he gets more milk from but he is happy when attached to me).

Thorz, that sounds awful. Can you at least ask your mum to do the stair climbing for you? Or will DS3 go down best for you?
My poor family, I've been grouchy all week. It's getting hot here during the day (Australian spring) and I feel fat and grumpy most of the time. I have no real signs of impending anything (although I'm only 36 weeks) apart from some mild diarrhoea (tmi sorry) but I've had that off and on the whole pregnancy so it's not that exciting.
I'm feeling more and more terrified about 4 kids- my toddler is so full on now- but I always get worried about now and I always cope (sort of). Anyway, it's my birthday next week and I've booked a hair appt plus pedi etc so I'm not in a hurry for a baby yet.

Have you tried laying upsidedown on an ironing board?? Prop up ironing board against a couch or chair so it's about 30 degrees angle and then with DH's help, lay on it with your feet in the air and your head down. This worked for me dramatically doing it once with DS 2, he flipped immediately and I could feel it happen. FX for you.

Well, I thought something was happening here but it's fizzled. I had diarrhoea fri and sat, a bad sleep due to a crampy tummy and loads of bhs, a very firm bump when I woke up and a couple of proper contractions and now nothing. Maybe just the head engaging? Or even a tummy upset rather than pre labour?
Anyway, I'm sort of relieved cos DH is working and we're not 100% ready for a baby yet (although we would have been ok).

Those days/nights are such a tease! I've had a few. I know it sounds odd but I swear today I've felt my cervix dilating more! I know it probably wasn't the case but I could just feel so much going on in there and my cervix ached a little then lots more pressure. I haven't had many contractions today though so I'm sure it means nothing.
How big do you ladies think your LO will be? My bump is so small I really would be shocked if she was over 7 lbs. my smallest baby was 7 lbs 2oz and my belly was bigger with him......who knows really, it's just a guess cuz I'm bored with this pregnancy.......IM OVER IT!!

Bump size isn't always a good indicator though, look at the Duchess of Cambridge! She was tiny and her baby was bigger than average.
I still feel awful today, crampy and refluxy and when I walk I have constant bhs. We chucked all the cushions on the floor this morning and they made dens and I read stories etc and tried to minimise getting up! DH is home now so I'm resting on the bed with some rehydration solution while he feeds them lunch. The baby is moving lots and I'm fine when I lie down so I'm sure it's not too serious. She's very cute, Wanting.
I'm all good today, had a great sleep and feel back to "normal" (as normal as you feel in late pregnancy). Being unwell has motivated me to get organised though, I've gone from piles of unsorted stuff to mostly everything put away. I've also just bought post delivery knickers etc! It's stopped the whinging as well, sure I'm tired and grumpy but at least I'm not feeling too unwell to get out of bed.
A friend with three boys has given me a whole lot of baby stuff which was very sweet but lots of it is in gender neutral colours like yellow and light green. It's still much appreciated and will get worn but after three girls all the stuff I've bought is very blue and covered in trucks! He will wear some of his sisters' old clothes though, I can't bear to not use them just because they're the "wrong" colour or have flowers on them (or whatever).

Fish, no I'm pretty sure she's done!
DLTAG, I'm glad there's no sign of labour. I remember my OB saying that OP babies are often a bit later and that it might be because the head isn't optimally positioned against the cervix or something, maybe it's the same for breech babies? (Although that theory doesn't really work for women with lots of previous pregnancies whose babies may not engage until early labour anyway).
Hopefully she'll hang on for you anyway. Much less dramatic than a rush to the hospital!

12 more days of pregnancy for the rest of my life...........I can do this I can do this I can do this! Right? The pain is beyond explanation now! I would beg the dr to induce me now but I know the hospital won't allow it unless baby or momma is in medical danger hip dysplasia isn't considered a danger.....sucks for me!

Yay I found something to do to help pass the time away!! It may kill me but its worth it! My friend is bringing her 4 day old baby boy over so I can practice my photography skills on him! I used to do photography but I worked in a studio with a film camera (makes me sound really old) any way I'm way behind in the photography world now. I finally got a nice camera but now a days it's all about the editing programs and I don't know anything about that, so I must practice practice practice. Bending down for an hour with a baby may kill me though. I think I might just try to direct my friend on how to pose him so I don't bend as much! I'm excited!

Aw thorz well done, they are really great and hes such a cutie too :)
Well been doing lots of cleaning and packing, we were due to move house 5 days after my section but are going to put it off for another week but trying to get as much done as possible before i go into hospital. Poor DH isnt going to know whats hit him having to look after 2 boys and the house so i've wrote some lists and cleaned the house top to bottom to make life a little easier for him

September 11th, 2013, 05:28 AM
Thorz, they are gorgeous pics. If you don't mind me asking, how do your hips hold up in labour? I don't think I could labour without moving around, well, not without an epidural.
DLTAG, moving house and a new baby sounds doubly stressful! I'm with you on the lists though, if I go into labour before the school holidays the first thing I'm going to be doing is letting DH know what they need for school. Although they're both pretty onto it in terms of library days, PE days etc.
There's nothing happening with me, 37 weeks now. My blood pressure seems to have settled, he is still on the large side and I've no pre labour signs. My big girls have three birthday parties this weekend so that'll take my mind off things. Have to keep reminding myself that these are the last few weeks of my last ever pregnancy and try to enjoy it.
Thorz300
September 11th, 2013, 07:04 AM
DLTAG I cannot imagine how stressful moving and a new baby would be, plus your recovery. You are one strong momma!
Mum23 to be honest I have no idea how my hips do during labor as I have always had an epidural so I cannot feel anything down there at all. But this time I really want to do it without an epidural so now you give me something to think about, and honestly I'm glad you brought it to my attention, I'm not sure i can do it without some sort of pain relief or numbing. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY my hips could go in the birthing position right now without excruciating pain so unless the adrenaline from giving birth helps, I don't know what I'll do.....probably end up with an epidural, bummer.
Wanting-a-girl
September 11th, 2013, 09:15 AM
Thorz your not missing out on much lol get your epidural... There is no reason to suffer when you don't need to... How does your hip feel after birth? Does it feel better right away?

WAG I Always have hip dysplasia and always will but pregnancy exasperates it beyond belief, as soon as baby is born the pain is manageable and then almost goes away. I'm a marathon runner believe it or not. As long as I stretch a lot and use proper form I can run! I miss running. 11 more days of pregnancy for the rest of my life and I'll never look back or miss it or want to do it again lol!

Ya I def feel like I'm done with the whole pregnancy thing but I've been feeling a little sad about DH getting the big V next month... I had ridiculously uncomfortable pregnancy with Lennon and I am happy for it to be done and for my family to be complete... I don't have an ounce of me even yearning for that daughter I once wanted ... But I worry I might change my mind in like 8 years...he would never get a reversal he didn't want the last two babies and he's seven years older than me.... I know I want him to get fixed and I want to be done... I think it's just how permanent it is and that I know that every little last newborn moment I'm having now will be my last...like I have three newborn diapers left and I think I might cry lol... And so far it's looking like only one of my kids might reproduce so the thought of grandchildren isn't as happy as it is for most people... I pray that Lennon is normal.... I ramble all over the place sorry lol

I feel the same way, I'm not sad at all about this being my last pregnancy, but I might be sad that this is my last newborn, if that makes any sense! I adore and love the newborn stage and it is so short lived! I'm going to take every second in and take a million pics!

I so agree with your Thorz!! I am not at all sad that this is my last pregnancy however I am so sad that this is my last newborn. I just love the newborn phase even though it means nightly feedings. I love that they are so tiny and all they want is to cuddle and snuggle and sleep with you. Peyton is already 3 weeks old!!

I had a pretty eventful night that got my hopes up but ended In nothing :( i woke up with cramping at midnight, then fell back to sleep around 1am but by 1:45 I was awake again with contractions, strong regular contractions. This went on until 3:30 am then somehow I fell asleep. I woke up again just after 4am with vertigo, the room was spinning and I felt like puking! I decided to get a drink and get in the bath (contractions were still coming about 3-5 min apart) then I would wake up DH and let him know we need to probably go to the hospital because if my water brakes I go super fast and I need tme for the group B antibiotics. Well, I fell back to sleep in the tub and DH woke me up around 6am and asked me what I was doing!!!!! I had been sleeping in there for nearly 2 hours!!!! I've never done that before. And besides a kinked neck, I was quite comfy. Well, unfortunately everything had stopped by this time and I felt fine. Here it is 7:30 and still no more contractions. So DH went to work in Dayton which is an hour away, I hope things don't start up again or he won't make it..... I'm exhausted! 10 more days of pregnancy (or less)!!!

WAG this is our last baby too, DH is also going for the big V when shes 12 months old so i've really been trying to "enjoy" the last few weeks of pregnancy as i know it will never happen again but i'm actually quite glad as i dont think i could go through another section. Very much looking forward to newborn cuddles tho :)
Only 5 more days to go now too, feeling more and more nervous about it but i think we have everything ready for our little girly and i really hope they dont keep me in hospital too long.

I set up most of the crib with the bedding and afghan I made, but I still need to make the crib skirt, which shouldn't be too hard, and move the mattress up to the newborn level. I hung up a bunch of frames but I don't have any pics in them yet because she isn't here yet to take pics of. I feel things are slowly coming together as far as the nursery. Here is a pic of her bedding I made, when/if I get the whole nursery put together, I will take pics of that too! I'm getting excited to meet her!14001

Help!
Right mummies of many I need some help! Dh is off for one more week and beginning to panic about bedtime n the witching hour ;-s
My boys have tea at 5.30, bath 6 stories and bed for 7 at moment Naomi wants to grump from 5-7 (when I put her in bed) she either wants to feed of be held and although tired I haven't really managed to get her sleep post her 5pm feed (like my angle baby ds2 did!). How am I gonna get boys tea and to bed on my own? Any tips ;-s
Ps as you may guess I'm not a newborn person I love her dearly but secretly can't wait till she's 6 months ;-)

Lol I sent DH back to work the day I came home lol he's on night shift too... I honestly find things easier when he's at work lol
Dlt... He's waiting a year? What's the reasoning? I wanted my DH to get done before any sort of any unwanted baby fever to hit lmao... Wag the reason we want to leave it 12 months is just to be 100% sure we dont want any more and things start getting easier after 12 months. I guess we just want to make sure we are making the right decision.
I never knew that either fish, DH is only 25 so the NHS wont do it so we are going private anyway but ill be back on the yucky pill for the 12 months or so while we are waiting. Very much not looking forward to it as it doesnt agree with me.

September 12th, 2013, 08:43 PM
We are so completely finished having children!
Fish, I used to dread the night time stuff when DH was away! I found it helped to get tea semi prepared in advance, wear the grumpy baby in a sling and then bath her while the big kids were bathed. For stories I'd read on our bed so I was comfy, latch the baby and let her cluster feed away happily with a big girl on either side. I'd then put DD3 in her bassinet while I did teeth and got them into bed and then come back and sort out the baby. And then collapse in a heap once everyone was finally in bed.
Thorz, how frustrating! Hopefully it was the lead in to proper, established labour in the next day or two.

Mum, Thorz, and Mel... not long now for you ladies. Can't wait for our next baby boom!
Haven't been around lately. The quiet of summer has ended and the chaos of early fall has taken over lol. I babysit before and after school plus we spend our evenings running to sports practices then squeezing in homework, dinner and baths. I really enjoy watching the boys play and they love it too but at the same time I look forward to things settling down again in November.
Julian is still an easy-going little guy most of the time and just goes along with us whenever we're running around. He still is kind of in the sleepy newborn stage but having more awake time.
Just curious how much the other Sept babies are weighing now. I still feel like Julian is such a little peanut even though he's around 8lbs now. Most people still assume he's only a week or 2 old when I'm out with him and are shocked he's almost 6 weeks old.
Here's our list. Hopefully all is correct:
:DS:Julian Sage, Aug 6
:DD:Peyton Blythe, Aug 19
:DS:Lennon, Aug 27
:DD:Darcey Lynn, Aug 28
:DD:Naomi, Aug 28

Just popping in to say hi and read some updates on everyone. I don't know how everyone else does it but I am feeling pretty swamped with my newborn, 2 and 4yo! I love it though and am savoring every minute of Evan being so tiny. To answer your question Southern, Evan was 8lbs4oz at birth, dropped down to 7lbs11oz, and at two weeks weight 8lbs9oz. He is gaining about 1 ounce a day, which is a lot apparently. Now if only my right nipple would heal... :(
DLTAG -- thinking of you and wishing you the best for your big day. I can't wait to see pics of your little lady. You look great by the way!
Southern -- Julian...he is cute as a button. :) I love the picture with his big brothers, so sweet. It really is quite special to have all boys.
Lady Laura -- what a little doll you have there. Congratulations and I am glad that the labor and birth went well!
Thorz -- not much longer now! You might still go into labor on your own. I didn't think I would but then it happened one day before my induction. Your body might surprise you! Although I did get my membranes stripped the day before so I guess that had something to do with it.

WAG -- I LOVE that outfit, so cute! Lennon does look big and "grown up," lol, but I know, pictures are deceiving. Before my mom got here, she had only seen a few pictures of Evan and thought he looks rather "sturdy," but now she admits that he's indeed a peanut. :)
Fish -- Naomi looks so dainty, like a little doll. That's a great weight for 2.5 weeks. Are you nursing?
DLTAG -- I am guessing you're holding your baby girl in your arms now and I hope everything went well, especially that the experience wasn't as bad as you thought it would be. I am sending you wishes for a speedy recovery! Can't wait to see pics. :)

She's gorgeous! And you look fantastic.
I'm feeling huge and exhausted now and everything hurts! My face and hands are getting a bit puffy too - not seriously but it's adding to my general grumpiness. My next OB visit is Tuesday (I'll be 39 weeks) and we've agreed she'll do a stretch and sweep though at the moment I feel like I'll be pregnant forever.

DLTAG congrats again, I'm so glad all went well! She is so sweet, I wIsh I looked that good after giving birth!
mum23 I feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever too, even though my induction date is 2 days and 21 hours away! I got a stretch and sweep last week and it just made me lose bits of m plug. I hope it works for you!
I'm grumpy too. My kids were being sooooo hard yesterday and my mom was no help! I found myself yelling and screaming at them like I haven't done before! I ended up locking myself in the bathroom, and started sobbing! My house is a HUGE mess and my husband works ALL weekend (until 5am Monday morning and my induction is at 6am) so it is up to me to get everything cleaned and ready to go. My mom is a terrible house keeper so I'm on my own, and I can barely walk! Maybe I'll bribe my boys with filling up their penny banks so they will be more helpful and fight less. Or maybe I'll get someone from church who can take the older two for a play date! I'm just so overwhelmed with having to face this weekend on m own! Thank goodness the end is almost here!

I'd definitely ask for play date help Thorz. If you give your mother specific tasks will she help? I'm with you on the grumpiness too, our fridge (which is relatively new) stopped working and it seemed like the end of the world this morning. Poor DH was very busy at work and had to deal with sorting that out as well because I was a grumpy mess.
We've just begun the school holidays here and I know the big girls' incessant demands will drive me crazy!

DLTAG -- you look fantastic!!! And your baby girl is beautiful and precious. I am pleased as punch for you. :) Your cute boys look pretty happy too! How is everyone adjusting? I am so glad you no longer have to cry about and dread that c-section. It's over and you did SO well! Be proud of yourself!
Mum to three -- hang in there. Those last couple of weeks and days are rough...especially if you aren't feeling too well. Not much longer now though!
Thorz -- I agree with WAG, you shouldn't be cleaning! But I know how you feel. I get very stressed out when the house looks like a tornado blasted through and I definitely couldn't handle it the week or so before I had Evan. There's something about wanting to bring a new baby home to a serene and orderly house...I agree with the others in trying to get your mom to do specific tasks. And please DO enlist help from your church. I am sure people would be all too willing to help but you have to let them know! (I'm bad about accepting help too...)
I can't wait for Monday! :)

Thorz I know how you feel. You have to do everything on your own, husband isn't home, kids are crazy. You really need to think about your health though and not about your messy house. If you fall and break a bone you are really going to be in a jam. Think about what is most important which isn't a clean house but a healthy Mom and baby. Trust me, the dirt, toys, and pee on the toilet will still be there for you when you can safely clean it. I know it is easier said than done:)

I love the ladies in my church! I sent a blanket email out to everyone, asking if my older two (my mom can handle ds3) could have a play date so I can get ready for the babies arrival, I didn't even mention the fact that my house was a tornado! Within minutes I had at least 5 women ask if my boys could come play with their kids and a handful of other women who don't have kids so can't have play dates, but want to come clean my house! I am so grateful to have such a support system at my fingertips, I just don't know how to let people into my home to clean it, I feel like I SHOULD do it, how weird is it going to be to have people clean my house while I just sit there like a lazy bump on the log? I haven't responded to the ladies who want to clean because I don't know what to say!

I agree with WAG, most people are inherently kind and they'll get genuine pleasure out of helping you. If your mum isn't helpful with cleaning maybe get her to organise some nice coffee and biscuits for the workers?

September 22nd, 2013, 05:38 PM
Thorz you look amazing!!! Good luck tomorrow, can't wait for your update. As far as warding off sickness, you can try zinc lozenges, elderberry syrup (walgreens), vitamin c, gargling with salt water, and if you are willing, lots of garlic (which I personally wouldn't do the day before giving birth, lol).
I hope you're just a little under the weather and that it's nothing. But just so you know, my DH and the two older boys had terrible colds our first week at home with baby Evan, and he and I sailed through it! Thank goodness for nursing. The boys are coming down with another cold right now and so far Evan is still healthy. Thank God.

September 22nd, 2013, 09:25 PM
Ive been sucking on some zinc lozenges and my throat feels a little better. So this time tomorrow I am hoping to be resting comfortably with my little Macie in my arms. I'm really anxious right now. I'm making sure I have everything packed, and all the boys stuff ready for the sitters, I think I have everything covered. I just need to shower now and go to bed. I'm quite a bit bummed though because DH just got called into an emergency surgery so the soonest he will be home is 1am but I bet he will be at the hospital until at least 5am (I am delivering at a different hospital) so he is gonna be super sleep deprived when he gets to the hospital to be with me.....Hopefully he can get a little sleep there while I go through the first stages of labor.
I know this sound super dumb, but I am also bummed that he wont be here for my shower/bath. I really like to be completely clean shaven down there when I have a baby (tmi) and I was going to have him do the grooming since I can't see past my belly! Now I am going to have to do the best I can and I'm sure it aint gonna look pretty lol. I know some people would never trust their DH to take a razor to them down there, but he is an eye surgeon, if he can't be gentle with a razor, then he has no business doing surgeries on eyes lol, so I trust him completely but I DO NOT trust myself since I cannot see anything. I know its probably not a big deal, but I am super bummed and a little embarrassed that nurses and my doc will see me unkempt.........oh well, I guess there is more in life to worry about. So we leave for the hospital at 6am EST. I sure hope all goes well and that she is perfectly healthy!!!
8.5 hours until we head to the hospital!!

Good luck Thorz and will be thinking about you tomorrow!! I am sorry you are in so much pain and feel like you are getting sick... but you look amazing!! I wouldn't worry too much about not cleaning up. Your unkept is probably very kept for a lot of women. I am sure the OB nurses and doctors have seen 10 times worse. I really hope your DH doesn't have another delay and can be with you when you are being induced. Will your hips start feeling better right after delivery? Update with pictures when you get a chance!!
