Congratulations Strawberrymom! Her name is lovely!

I was at my midwife clinic appointment yesterday, I have to go into the hospital on Monday to see the doctor where apparently they'll give me a sweep and book an induction date. I'm hoping I won't make that appointment because with both my boys I woke up in labour on the days of my 40 week appointments.
I'm feeling a bit better now that I have the prospect of a sweep which I've never been offered before.

Congratulations Strawberry, gorgeous name!

Pangea - hope you don't make that appointment

I had a midwife appointment yesterday as well and all is good, baby 4/5 engaged so still sitting pretty high which I knew anyway. I was so much lower at this point with the boys. Iron levels have dropped even more so no wonder I look so pale, hate taking the iron tablets though due to the constipation they cause but dont really have much choice now. Next appointment in 2 weeks which I hopefully won't make it to!

Congrats everyone on their new healthy babies! So exciting!

At my appt on Tuesday my midwife said she could stick her finger in and feel his head although it was still high, but I haven't been having anything but lots of BH ctx and lots of pain down there, no real labor contractions though. I hope it will be any day as I'm super tired of being pregnant too.

Good luck everyone and I hope all the new mamas are settling in nicely!

Anyone still waiting who is getting fed up of pains that lead nowhere?
I have almost constant period type pain, with braxton hicks thrown in through out the day. I know they are going nowhere but I still can't help but get my hopes up!
Today I am much slower, my back and hips and groin really playing up.
Got DS2s birthday on Sunday, then due on Thursday.
Can't believe its so close now, but still doesn't feel like his going to be here by then. This baby is looking more and more likely to be late.
Its been a week since my bloody show and nothing!

My baby boy was born yesterday the 8th at 5:29! It was an incredibly fast delivery but with complications for me, as I started hemorrhaging blood and blood pressure got down to 50/30. Very scary! But all is good now and the baby is beautiful! Still working on a name and hopefully some pics later!

Congratulations! Hope you're doing okay after the scare-same thing happened to me with DS1 so I know how scary it is. My BP was 50/31 too. Looking forward to hearing the name xx

Ladies, I have to add its so exciting logging in and hearing all the happy news of baby arrivals. Can't wait til its my turn...but absolutely nothing going on for me labour wise so think it will still be a few weeks yet. Good luck to all who are getting close! xx

Ausiettc--Really, the same thing happened to you?? It was really scary, wasn't it? I'm just glad they were able to stop it.

We've settled on the name--Jude William. He seems to be a great baby so far;)

Good luck to all those having their little ones in the next couple weeks! I know it feels like forever away but they will be here before you know it!

Love the name Jude it's gorgeous.

MOB - lots of pains that go nowhere here as well, it's so exhausting but I was the same with DS2 as well then had a nice quick labour (3 hrs from first contraction till he was born) so hoping the pre labour is doing its job for a nice quick one again.

Dear Friends,

Got blessed with a baby boy on 10.10.2013 @ 9.11 am. Normal Delivery using mild suction.

Contractions started on 9.10.2013 @ 9.30am, reached hospital @ 12.30 pm… after nearly 24 hours of non stop pain and severe contractions. Delivered my jewel on 10.10.2013 @ 9.11 a.m

Soon after birth he was transferred to incubator for MAS (Meconium Aspiration Syndrome) he was feeling difficult to breath. We were shocked and heart broken seeing his condition, he was in incubator and oxygen pipes till 12.30pm, then he got complications later he was shifted through ambulance to a bigger hospital which was 5 kilometres away from the delievered place and was in incubator and they treated him till this morning. Antibiotics, Cardio Physiotheraphy etc etc. This morning 11 am he returned to normal ward from incubator room.

Now he is free and started smiling too. Tomorrow getting discharged and we will take home our treasure!!! He is very active and so lovable. I cant express my happiness when I see him smile!!! Feeling Gifted with my treasure

Thank you for all your support and guesses!! You were awesome and i am proud of this website and pals around!! Love you all

Congratulations champrajani!
I love the name Jude, and had it "in the running" for ds2.
Vivienne is a champion eater so keeping me up at night. Still I feel like I got more rest yesterday than the last few weeks of pregnancy. Ds1 is in love with Vivi and wants to constatly be playing with her and ds2 seems oblivious. Overall, hectic but not as much as I feared. I'd love to get a pic up but that is a dh thing and I have him pretty busy already. I can't wait to see who's next!

This is a quick pic I snapped of Duncan with my cell phone in the hospital.

Wow, so many babies born since I was last on here! Congrats to all of you. :-)

I thought I posted a little something about how my delivery went on Monday morning.

I got to the hospital at 5:00 a.m. They got me hooked up to pitocin at 6:00. For the next three or so hours I had contractions but they were very small and didn't make much progress. I don't even feel like I can call it labor. At 9:30 they went to check my cervix and my water broke. For the next two hours my labor progressed very quickly. It was my most painful labor but I still refused an epidural. I told my nurse that when it was time to push that things would move very quickly, and that they would need to be prepared! Well, I dilated way quicker than anyone thought and they weren't ready!! They were still bringing things into the room and had not transitioned my bed yet. There was no stopping Duncan though. I actually made an effort to NOT push, but it didn't do much good. He was out without me even pushing really. The doctor came running in the room right at the last second! It all happened so quickly.

My recovery has been great. I think it's been my fastest recovery.

I am so in love with Duncan, I can't even put it into words. He is absolutely perfect, and guess what... The moment I laid eyes on him I was thankful God gave me another little man. My desire and sadness over wanting a girl was GONE. I actually broke down and cried over how thankful I was.

Life is good, ladies!!

How's everyone doing? New mommas, how are your babies? Anyone else feel close to labor?

Katie I'm crying at your words of joy at having another little boy.
Right now I'm so looking forward to just getting this little man here that I really don't care that his not the girl I dreamed of. But I hope I can have that over whelming thankfulness and love that you speak of.
I'm now 3 days from my due date!

Congratulations Champrajani!

Katie Duncan is absolutely gorgeous!

I'm 3 days overdue here. No signs of anything happening, just lots of painless braxton hicks. I was in labour at this stage with DS2. I've got an appointment this afternoon and they told me that I should get a sweep. But it's not unusual for them to find some excuse not to do it so there's no guarantee that I'll get one.

DH has the flu, he couldn't get out of bed at all yesterday and I was worried I would have to go into the hospital on my own if I went into labour. He's still not great today but he's out of bed. If I go into labour tomorrow I'm hoping he'll be well enough to come with me.

Hi ICB3

Yep, its one of the things that made the birth of DS1 so traumatic. It had been a 35 hour induced labour but he'd arrived via vaginal birth and all was good. Then all of a sudden I felt really sick and as the placenta came away I bled. Lost over 3 litres before they got it under control. I remember very clearly seeing the BP monitor hit 50/31 and thinking 'oh thats not good'. It was very scary and I was drifting in and out of consciousness. I hope you are making a good recovery-it took me quite a while to regain energy and strength afterwards.

Love the name you've chosen-hoping you are treasuring every minute with your new little man xx

I had a nice bath last night. I woke up this morning disappointed to find nothing had happened. Then while walking around doing the usual morning mummy things I felt all wet down my thighs. (sorry for the TMI I feel ill just thinking about it myself) It didn't feel enough to be waters, but I went and checked and there was loads of show, I had a little bit of bloody show in there too. Then have had pains all morning but not really sure that they are any different from my usual pains that I get most of the day.
I am so tired today I'm in my own little world and didn't even realise when someone was talking to me this morning!

Mob-I went one day early so fx for you.
Pangea, did you get your sweep? If so it may be you, navywife, or mob next!
Tomorrow is a great day for babies to come(it's my b-day)! Love to see some more pics on here. I am hoping for a b-day miracle tomorrow as Vivienne has a orthopedic dr appt for possible hip dysplasia. It isn't anything horrible I know, but they do have to wear this awful harness thing which means difficulty doing breastfeeding and skin to skin,no cute outfits, limited time in carseat, no using swing or bouncer and who knows what else. I know it will help her, but I have been bawling my eyes out thinking of my little girl having to be in that thing so holding out hope but planning for other option too.

Making me even more impatient LOL
DS2 (my other October baby) came the day before his due date. No such luck of history repeating itself. I've given up on the next few days. Tomorrow is my due date so he wont come then, I think the weekend is the earliest I can expect anything.

Pangea
October 16th, 2013, 05:26 PM
Jude is absolutely gorgeous! I love the bath towel pic!

Strawberrymom I hope the appointment goes well. I worry about that too because my sister had hip problems when she was born, so my babies have to get xrays to rule it out.

Yeah I got a sweep and it did absolutely nothing! I had a little bit of brown discharge but didn't even feel in the slightest bit crampy. Cervix is very unfavourable apparently. I've never gone this overdue before. I'm booked in for an induction on Monday.
I think MOB or Navywife will definitely go before me.

Navywife that sounds promising, hope things are happening.

MOB I hope things happen soon, you're having some great signs, you never know he might come on his due date! Two of my friends recently had their babies on their due date!

There is a full moon on Friday night, I'm hoping that will set me off, because DS2 was born on the night of a full moon and DS1 was born 2 days before a full moon.

motherofboys
October 17th, 2013, 09:08 AM
I had more show and pains this morning, walked round town doing some shopping all morning. Its not completely stopped but not gone anywhere either.
I heard about the full moon so hoping it works for me too LOL I didn't know about it before so not sure what kind of moon the others were born under.

I just wish if it were going to happen it would happen and if its not going to happen yet it would quit teasing me LOL I don't believe anything will happen today on my due date.
Dh just left to get the biggest 2 and his text me 3 times in the space of 5 minutes, I'm sure his trying to wind me up, the messages say "any signs yet?" "how about now?" "surely now?!"

And why do people always have to have it worse than you? I moaned that my body keeps tricking me. Once again this morning I had some bloody show and pains which have now eased off. And her reply was "I had that every day for a month! and come on man up I had SPD and still managed the running, and it worked he was born 12 hours later"
Then she said she was worried about me as I seemed 'anxious' I'm not anxious, I'm heavily pregnant, easily irritated, extremely tired and very impatient to get to meet my baby.

My baby is finally here! Seth William Patrick, born last night at 11:45pm, weighing 8lb 4oz. I got my home birth, in fact I ended up with an unassisted home birth. When I phoned the hospital to ask them to send a midwife I wasn't taken very seriously it would seem as she left it a while before calling one. My waters went at 11:15 and he arrived 30 minutes later, the midwife arrived 20 minutes after him. We did had to transfer to hospital as he had poo'd but all is well and we are home again.

Hi ladies, I took a break from here a while ago as felt it was needed, still not best pleased that number 4 is another boy but we're all ready for him now, have been keeping up with all the October Births - congrats to all who've had their babies the piccies are really cute :-) . I was due on the 21st but am still here waiting! It's unfamiliar territory for me as my other 3 were all early - I've got family on the phone everyday asking if anythings happening! so annoying! I haven't event got a midwife appointment till next Tuesday so am unsure what the next step is! x

I love the pictures of Jude and Seth! Congratulations to navywife, pangea, and mob. I love the name Zara.
Pinkprincess-it seems like most of the October babies are wanting to hang out (or I guess I should say IN) for awhile. Reading the Sept due date group, I think most of them went early, so maybe our babes are making up for that-lol.
Lld-I can't say that I am familiar with croup, but on webmd they say that sometimes the flu vaccine helps to protect against, so if you got that hopefully little one will be protected. Also most viruses are contagious in the beginning so he's maybe past that now.I know my ds1 had a little cold a couple days before I delivered, and I was worried about that, so I feel for you and am sending positive thoughts your way.

40 weeks today, according to dr. Friday is my due date according to me. ;)
She wants to induce on sat. I'm an 8 on the bishop scale....2.5cm and 75% effaced. I really don't want to be induced!!! I asked about membrane stripping & she said "if you haven't gone on your own by now, you aren't going to"
Totally bummed. She did say that I can just have her break my water then give it 2-3 hours before starting pitocin and that made me feel a bit better. Just frustrated this isn't happening on its own. Going to TRY to dtd tonight w DH to move things along but doubt that will really help.

Lld2006 - I'm sure you will go on your own if you get the chance, don't let your doctor pressure you into something you don't want. You are only due today and it's perfectly normal to go 10 days over due prior to induction, in fact here in Aus they wouldn't induce earlier than that without medical reason (not just because you are post dates). Hoping something happens soon for you though & the sweep does the job.

I'm 40+3 today and seeing my midwife this afternoon, I've had the 24th in my mind as babies birthday all along so let's hope I'm right. The other boys were both born at 40+4 so shouldn't be much longer now anyway.

* sorry just re read that she refused to do the sweep. Hopefully sex helps and then a big walk does the trick.

That's what I say!!! I'm frustrated because I was a bit teary and explaining my concerns and she brushed them off so quickly without compassion. I'm so emotional about it today. I know I don't need to show up as it's my body I just hate being put in this position. DH fell asleep before and chance to dtd which leaves me ticked off w him today. I wish there was something I could do to bring him on my own before sat morning!!!!

Lld I hope he decides to come before induction.

I also feel great about having 4 boys, I can not imagine Seth being a girl and feel like he was who we were meant to have. I can't believe how upset I was now.
I don't know if my family is complete yet, I did plan on another regardless of gender this time, but right now I'm just enjoying having a new born again and will see how I feel down the line. I can't imagine never doing it again LOL
But right now I feel like if we did have another, and we had a 5th boy, I would be totally fine with that. I know now, that even if I did suffer some GD if there was a next time, I would get over it and that baby would be the perfect baby for me and my family.

Went in this am, I'm 3cm, 80%effaced. Swept my membranes but zero happening. She said likely breaking my water will be all it takes. Should I just do it or still try to hold off? 40+1 tomo. I know if I let him cook too long there are risks of complications so would pry induce mon if not tomo......

Thx for the input wanting....I think I lost my chance for the water breaking tho. I want to switch to another dr so bad but how the heck do I do that at 40+ weeks! I've been having continuous mucousy bloody show all day with inconsistent contractions so not really enough of an excuse to go into the hospital. :( so bummed w how this is turning out.

Sounds like she just wanted to induce you for HER convenience but your body is doing exactly what it needs to be doing on its own and baby won't be far away. Have you tried any natural induction methods? Walking, sex, expressing, acupuncture, accupressure ( you can look up pressure points online) etc.

That is ridiculous lld. Sorry that you have to go through this now, but at 80% effaced and some show,it sounds like things are progressing- just not quick enough for your doc's vacation. I had my membranes stripped before and it was a couple days later that I went into labor and delivered at 40weeks 4 days, so I don'I think it's one of those things that necessarily makes you go right away. On the positive side, when he decided to come, I only had to push for 6 minutes, so wishing you the same speedy delivery.

Popping in from due in feb. I was induced with my first baby at 10 days overdue. My other two were both late but both came on their own, ds2 was three days overdue and my ds3 was a week overdue. It's ridiculous to assume you won't go in your own and what you are describing is exactly what I had with ds3 and he was born in the early hours the following day, your doctors attitude is appalling.

I totally agree! Your doctor sounds very unprofessional & demeaning. I am hoping for a vba2c in Dec and have been given 12 days to go naturally on my own. I did book a c-section when I was 16 weeks but since belonging to a vbac support group, I've decided to cancel it. As they keep reminding me, no woman has ever stayed pregnant forever!! As long as you & baby are well, they should leave well alone except for monitoring. Best of luck & I'll be stalking for the announcement of your little bundle!!

Thanks girls. I will def be switching to a new dr after this experience! The WONDERFUL news is that I ended up going on my own yesterday!!! Went in with strongish but inconsistent contractions at 9am, walked the hallways like crazy and my water broke on its own (hooray!!!) at 1:30pm. At 3:50 my sweet little boy Camden was born. Feeling so blessed and thankful that he came on his own and is perfect and healthy. ❤️

Oh thats such wonderful news! Welcome Camden (beautiful name too)!

I'm so jealous that so many babies are here-wondering if I might end up in the November births! I had a stretch and sweep today as now 40+3. 9 hours later, ZERO sign of any action. I'm so impatient to meet my little guy!!! Hope everyone is feeling well (and those with bubbas hope you're enjoying those newborn snuggles. They're just the greatest!!!) xx

AAAAARGGGHHHHHHH:bigsmile: I am expecting a phone call from the hospital today about starting things off, so we will see what they come up with! How are all the babies going? Ruby is now 9 days old and nearly back to her birth weight. She's feeding well and generally pretty settled, DH is back at work tomorrow so I guess reality will set in quickly with me in my own to do school runs, lunches etc but not long until Summer holidays!

ELP I hope bubs is now here

Congrats aussiettc.
I hope ELP has her baby by now. Lost track of how many days past her due date it is now.

Seth is 3 weeks old today. His not been weighed since day 10 when he'd gone up to 8lb 9 (from 8lb 4) He must be nearly, if not already 10lb as his nicely filling his 0-3, up to 12lb clothes now lol
I can almost SEE his growing! He is so much more alert when his awake now. I'm so overwhelmingly in love with him. I know how much I love my older boys and that I'd give my life for them, but I guess I didn't expect to love him this much due to the gender desire, at least not straight away. And I sort of forgot what that new love was like.
I'm sure now that I do want another, I know that if I had another boy everything would be fine, even if I did experience GD again, the worries I had this time about not bonding, wouldn't be there as I have the experience now to know in the end it would all be ok.

Congrats ELP. I bet you have been asked many times but is this it for you now? Is your family balanced?

ELP
November 13th, 2013, 07:32 AM
Thankyou ladies:) Yes, 1st cesaerean, slightly disappointed with how it came about but me and little fella all good and I've healed pretty well already so if it came around again as a planned or emergency then I wouldn't mind all that much, I would it would just need more organisation put in place for the few days afterwards ie full cupboards, a few frozen meals, empty laundry basket and some walk to school arrangements! So as you can read the door has definitely NOT been shut to more members of the family lol!!!

But yes! we are now a fully balanced family with a five-a-side team of both pink and blues! (My ideal was always a full blue team I'm not a very good girly mum lol:))

I'm gonna write up a birth story just so I've pieced it together somewhere, toooo much gas and air going on!!!! But heres a pic of little man and I'll add a recent one later on, the kids think he bares a striking resemblance to the Argos alien baby in recent pictures which UK mums have prob seen!!!

Toward the end of my pregnancy I noticed a small lump in my left breast. It grew very quickly and I felt it was necessary to point out to my doctor. I spoke to her about it on Monday during my 6 week check-up and she was a little concerned. I was hopeful that it was just a clogged duct, but after checking it out the doctor told me it was not that. She decided to send me to an oncologist. Because I am nursing I couldn't have a mammogram, so instead my doctor wanted me to have an ultrasound done. The next morning I met with a wonderful oncologist (who is absolutely fantastic because she squeezed me in at 7:30 in the morning rather than make me wait until December). The mass was so large that she was not able to see the entire thing at once. She told me she thought it might be a fibroadenoma or phyllodes tumor but a biopsy needed to be done to rule out anything malignant. The procedure was fairly quick and painless (with the exception of a little stinging while she numbed the area). We talked about the need to remove the mass because of it's size and I went home preparing to have surgery at some point. This evening they called to inform me that what I have is a lactating adenoma. It is a benign tumor and it should go down on its own (which would mean no surgery). I am so relieved!

DH never did get the snip snip so sometimes we play around with the idea of another. I am not sure if it will happen but sometimes its nice to know we have that option.

I agree I think it's nice to have the option. They are growing far too quickly. Seth likes to keep us on our toes too, especially with visits to the in laws when he wants to grab at all the very interesting and very breakable items down low lol and also with all the toys, pencils, bits of tasty paper the others still haven't learnt to keep away from him *rolls eyes*
