Hello! My Dr. loves to give ultrasounds for fun. At 13 weeks, my Dr. guessed boy, b/c she saw a large protrusion between the legs... I didn't get a pic of it, but I saw it too!

At 17 weeks (this week) I told my doctor I didn't want to know. I want to be surprised at the 20 week ultrasound, with my husband there. We watched the baby move around, then my dr. had me close my eyes b/c she wanted to see what the baby is. (I have 2 adorable boys now...) When she was done looking for the goods she told me she was 90% sure.

I went home, proud of myself for waiting a few weeks for the surprise. My husband, however was not. He can't wait to find out! I had to call to set up the 20 week ultrasound, so we decided to have the Dr. tell my husband on the phone, what the baby is.

She told him that she was 90% sure it was a girl, but at the very end of the ultrasound the baby moved and she thought she saw a scrotum. She moved away quickly, so I wouldn't see and ruin the surprise. So now she's leaning boy 60/40% What?? That's all the info I have. Not sure if she saw 3 lines to make her 90% sure or not.

Any thoughts on this? I'm not sure what to think at this point. I know that sometimes the labia can be swollen and mistaken for a scrotum. As far as I know, she never saw a penis. I'm kicking myself I didn't find out!

I think your doctor does not need to be guessing on things because it is very hurtful to get your hopes up and down like that. Personally I don't think she sounds like she knows what she is doing at all, but at 20 weeks a penis should be pretty darn obvious so I would still have hope it was a girl.

Wow...that is not a doctor I would trust - usually, even ultrasound techs are super quiet unless they know for sure and not keep changing their minds like that! I am sorry the doc is playing with your emotions like that..

Hey all! I thought I'd update... We are definitely having our 3rd BOY! :) I didn't have a strong sway, due to having a miscarriage and then panic to just become pregnant! All I did was take baby aspirin and drink lots of Crystal Light. So, I'll be back in a few years to sway one last time for our last child. And, God willing, it'll be our girl. :)

Thanks for all the support and information this past year! :) See ya in a few!
