Can I drink a glass of skimmed milk in the morning or dose that count as eating? What about cranberry light or crystal light? Thanks

I think milk counts as eating, it's protein, calories, and your system will need to kick in to metabolize it, so you won't get the low blood sugar benefits of skipping breakfast entirely. I think something with 0 calories wouldn't count, so perhaps if those drinks were just the aspartame and flavorings you'd still be good. Maybe someone has better info?

I have been having peppermint tea for breakfast when I am really hungry. Wonder if that counts?

I would imagine it depends on the individual - I definitely have low blood sugar in the mornings, even if I have a drink ... but then I feel feint for half the morning even if I have a smaller than usual breakfast! I haven't started the diet yet, not looking forward to it!

Finally after two weeks I am feeling like skipping breakfast isn't the most painful experience ever....and I'm still only counting "skipping breakfast" as making it to ten a.m. I am such a putz!!

Good to know I'm not the only one, I make it until about 10 or 11. I keep thinking it's not that since I'm up from 6! It would be alot easier to make it to 12 if I could lie in until 10!

Thank you! I think I'm just going to try and make it as late as I can and if I have a glass of skimmed milk it's not the worse thingin the world!

Waiting until 10 is fine if you are up early. Eating breakfast is not going to kill your sway, but it does help. There is nothing magic about breakfast either, it's just a technique to keep your blood sugar low for longer and further restrict calories. You do get used to it over the course of time.

Pep tea is fine unless you put milk in it.

K x Some people skip breakfast all the time and never suffer, while others have to eat straight away. My mom NEVER eats breakfast and neither does my husband - I can barely function unless I eat when I get up!!
