Every since my IUD came out in the beginning of April I have had o-pains except for my third cycle when I ovulated in the beginning-middle of June. Not really bad but just simple cramping except for April. That was bad. It kept me up half the night. Anyway I got a +OPK yesterday at about 3pm. I also tested + this morning. Starting at like 9:30 this morning I started getting ovulation pains and HOLY CRAP! My right ovary kept having a serious sharp pain in my abdomen and I was getting a sharp pain in my back from my left ovary. This went on till about 4pm. For the past 2 hours now I haven't been really getting any sharp pains (maybe one or two there but most of the pain has been from my right) but its now like a warm burning sensation. Not like anything insane but dull. It's not directly on either of my ovaries but in the front in the middle between both of them. Like I've said I've had o-pains before but the only time they've been this strong was my first cycle after my iud and I've never had the burning sensation before. Not sure what's going on. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks!

I'd call the doctor just to be on the safe side, it could be a cyst that has ruptured.

Okay. Thank you. I'm fine today, my ovaries just feel a bit sore. I'm gonna call them tomorrow morning when they open. Anything out of the ordinary just always freaks me out.

So I called my dr today and he didn't even have me come in. I told him about my strong o-pains on Sat but that they went about after 6 hours and that for the past 2 days its been a very dull ache and very minor cramping. He said that he doesn't think it was a ruptured cyst because two days later I would still be having really strong pains not very light, dull ones. He said I would also be probably having other symptoms too. He did say though that on the off chance it was a ruptured cyst that he's not concerned about it because I'm not having serious symptoms. He told me to take some Tylenol for the minor cramping if I want to. :/ I am 2dpo today so we'll see how the next week goes.

Yes most cysts, even when ruptured, clear up ok on their own anyway. Hope you are feeling better.

I think I have mild PCOS and I know for a fact I have had cysts on my ovaries.

Since I have been on the HE my ovulation is super obvious with similar pain to what you described.

This past month was super obvious, cut and dry. Which was fantastic since OPKs only work for me randomly. The pain in unpleasant at times but I do take tylenol over ibuprofen as we do want a little swelling for the follicle to come out as planned!

IMO, I think the healthier I am, especially on the HE, the more obvious my cycle processes are.

I have only once had ov pains that strong and it was the month my twins were conceived. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I thought it might hurt more to have two eggs come out but it turned out they are identical so only one egg. Maybe something crazy going on in my uterus caused the egg to split that month!?

there is a thread about O pains and gender - some of us boy moms have pretty severe O pains just as a matter of course. Not sure if it means anything, but I know both Zanacal and I have debilitating O pains just normally.

Well I'm gonna keep my fx then that my painful o just meant that there is a little boy in there then! And OMG I hope it's not twins. LOL! I think DH would die. Especially if they were twin girls. Lol
