View Full Version : Complete blue swaying spreadsheet

Firstly, can anyone who gets their sway results from now on please add your sway to the spreadsheet using the following link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1X176Ro0rH_N_CNBcU-zC3VVJocMpBE-fFefXEaVTooA/viewform
even if you get an opposite, it can help those planning future sways by making the statistics more accurate.
The results are here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuwCV-IDm3wodGRDUkRVYnN2a1lQSjFDT2wtZVl0YXc#gid=0
The first sheet lists all the sways added. At the top are the results for those who tried each basic aspect of swaying (the yes/no answers). This includes:
supplements
douches
cold showers
old wives tales
etc.
The second sheet has the more complex statistics for:
diet
number of attempts
timing
length of abstain
length of time on diet
type of exercise done
Note: some of these results have VERY small sample sizes at the moment which may skew the results a bit. As time goes on and more results are added it should become more accurate
Obviously because we are all doing so many factors for a sway it's hard to know whether it's the individual one that is swaying or because it's a mixture of things, but it's an interesting guide.
We have already added all the sways with results I found in the "Add your sway" section. So if you have already swayed and had results you will need to check that you aren't already in there. Thank you to my lovely volunteers for helping to populate it wit
Note: The statistics do not automatically update when new sways are added so I need to manually do this. It's a limitation of the tool unfortunately.

DIET
(note from atomic - the data on this is misleading because we did not track our results the first 2 years of the site. We have always had much better results with HE Diet and the first 2 years of the site, IG Diet was running 40% success rate while HE Diet has stayed consistently 75-80% success rates. Also note the small sample size. Since those people did not fill out spreadsheets, their data is not included in this diet info) I posted the diet info that I tracked the first 14 months of the site on Page 9 for anyone who would like to double check this claim.

it doesn't unfortunately, I need to manually update it each time someone adds a new chart. The only statistic accurate all the time is the gender ratio, the others are only accurate after I've updated (they will show slightly worse than they are otherwise, not better than they are because "total sways" using it is always up to date, just the "successful sways" bit needs to be manually calculated)

actually the reason the vit D stats were out of date is that I'd forgotten to add the formula to a different sheet lol, it's fixed now

I just want to mention that these stats are only the people who filled out questionnaires and not all swayers. We had TONS of IG Diet blue sway opposites in the first year of the site and much, much better results with HE Diet. I would sure hate to see anyone doing IG Diet because I can promise we have much better results with HE.

Anyone who is a Dream Member, I kept stats from those early days comparing the two diets here in this thread and HE got way better results.http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ttc-boy/8668-who-swayed-ig-who-swayed-gd.html

I just want to point out again that the results are NOT indicative of what the numbers on IG Diet was before the questionnaires for the spreadsheet started getting filled out. Between 2011 and 2012 (we were not yet compiling these stats at that point) we had terrible results with IGD for blue (less than 50-50) and I do not recommend anyone follow IGD for blue. I believe it lowers your odds of success and the number represented in the statistics is a quirk and nothing more. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ttc-boy/8668-who-swayed-ig-who-swayed-gd.html

I realized I never filled this out bc it wasn't here when I swayed. Thought I'd add mine to help anyone looking. My DS2 was born 2.1.13 The questionnaire didn't ask but I had 3 mc/chemicals before him within 5 months. I was very depressed and gained 15 lbs which definitely affected my blue sway in a good way, ironically. I was eating everything in sight out of depression, so definitely HE all the way.

Again, gotta mention that the IG diet WAS NOT getting anywhere near 80% success rates for us and these numbers are only the amount of people who bothered to fill out the sway stats. THe whole first year our IG dieters were getting abysmal results but we didn't have this mechanism for tracking sway data at that time.

It looked to me like there were 4 people who TTC the first month after a miscarraige, and none got boys. 0% success rate

ELP
April 10th, 2015, 12:22 PM
It was me that asked for that to be included to see if we could see any pattern with it to help both blue and pink swayers. 4 people (blue swayers) conceived straight after m/c and all 4 had boys. So we know that for blue swayers our stats are showing that it is definitely safe for blue to ttc after m/c instead of maybe waiting a month, and for pink swayers it shows to continue what you are doing as it isn't a guarantee that it helps pink. Hopefully over time we will get more results for this one (a sad hopefully btw xx)
atomic sagebrush
April 11th, 2015, 01:55 PM
I personally still STRONGLY recommend that blue swayers wait. 4 is not a big enough sample size for me to recommend anything and logic and biology (and other people's results which were NOT boys) I feel that it is better to wait and I will continue to recommend that.
Thank you for clarifying, ELP - I am assuming this is entered wrong in the results thread then??
ELP
April 16th, 2015, 04:12 AM
Yes I think the result of 0% in the success should read 100%, as when I was checking up on it a while ago I thought that their had been 4 girls conceived out of the 4.
I agree aswell that the stats of 4 are definitely too small to change recommendations, but are maybe some further back up to the strength of the blue swaying!, my p/g straight after a m/c (before swaying) was a pinky between 3 blues so its a good sign especially for blue swayers who may have accidently fallen straight after that what we are doing is working!:agree:

Is there any way we can get the diet stats updated to inlclude the results from 2011 and 2012, because I can guarantee that IG diet had results that were in the 40% range and the numbers in this thread are totally misleading. I know rainbow is expecting and doesn't have time, but anyone???

Atomic is putting you on the right path. Trust in her and yourself and let the rest go.
I know what's is like (being a boy only mom to 4) that it always "seems" like everyone is having girls but you can't make it about that anymore. When ttc (regardless of gender preference) you have to be open to changing things up and upping your odds of conception. I feel your struggle, and wish you a BFP soooonnnn!!!

Sorry if this has been asked already, but do these results also include unsuccessful sways that did not result in a BFP?
Or are these results only made up of those who were successful (i.e. got a BFP with either Blue/Pink)?
atomic sagebrush
October 4th, 2015, 12:16 PM
Good question!
No, these numbers do not include those who didn't get pregnant. We do have great odds of conception for blue swayers with most people getting pregnant within 1-4 months. We do not use the tactics like Shettles timing and baking soda/egg whites that really cut odds of conception for blue swayers and have vastly superior rates of conception and with much quicker turnarounds than the other sites do (with better success rates!) :) Getting people pregnant quickly is my A1 priority and one of the main reasons why I joined this site (I used to be on one of the other sites). I saw too many people wasting months and years out of their fertility not conceiving due to sway tactics that didn't even work and I wanted to help make a better way!

Multivitamins are getting 80% success rate!!!!! If you do one thing for your blue sway, make it that!
Atomic, do you have a specific multivitamin you recommend? I know I've seen you recommend one elsewhere but am blanking!

I recommend the Women's One a Day. (just the regular one) I know it's not exciting LOL but it is affordable and widely available, plus has the 1000 IU Vit. D but 100% of most everything else just the way I like it - and less than 100% of things that are better off at less than 100% like Vit. A and E)

^^^agree! I took the Women's One a Day prenatal with DHA when TTCing DS1 and DS2 (didn't know about swaying back then).

It actually has LESS stuff in it than the normal one. I prefer the normal one. The Prenatal has extra iron and DHA in it, which means that they had to take out some other stuff (or end up with a massive pill that no one could swallow LOL and yes they admit this on their website). I think it is best to take the normal orange bottle women's one a day plus fish oil or similar DHA supp separately.

@Atomic, Yeah I know, the pill is huge. Thanks for your suggestion. I'm new to this, so trying to get it right.
Here are list of the supplements I'm taking for my boy sway:
One a day prenatal 1
Folic Acid 800mcg 3x a day
Fish Oil 1000mg 2x a day
Coq10 100mg 1 × daily
Vitamin D3 1000iu 1 x daily
Alka seltzer 2 tabs 1 × daily
Guafenesin 400 mg 1tab 3 × a day from 5 days to O day
Others:
Green tea 2 cups a day
Lemon water 2 cups a day
1 cup of v8 juice a day
Green leafy Veg and fruits
Are these supplements okay to take? And when do I stop taking each one of them. Couldn't find that in the forums.
Saw a place where you said potassium pill is not recommended. Also ASG, why?
When do I dtd during my fertile window... and how many days abstinence is recommended?
DH, doesn't want to take any supplements or make any adjustments here so I'm all alone in this.
Sorry for my long questions. I'm new here.
Thanks

If you take the women's one a day you don't NEED the additional Vit. D because it already has that in there. But the Prenatal one doesn't and you'd have to take extra D in that case.
I don't like the Alka Seltzer but that's up to you. It doesn't work and it isn't safe.
You're taking too much fish oil, please no more than 1000 mg a day total. and in your case since the prenatal does already HAVE DHA you should do 500 and no more than that. You could harm yourself taking too much.
You're already going to be getting enough potassium thru diet (if you do HE Diet instead of that awful IG Diet). You don't NEED IT. Your body knows what to do with potassium it gets from foods, potassium from medicine form makes it "confused" and you actually can end up low in potassium from taking it in pill form, because your body gets "nervous" and is like OMG I got to get rid of this stuff and starts peeing out a whole lot of it. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-to-conceive-a-boy/16806-high-everything-diet-nutshell-version.html
Stop Alka Seltzer, guan, and green tea at ovulation. At BFP, gradually wean off of Coq10 and wean back fish oil to the amount of DHA in a prenatal supplement. Do this by gradually spacing doses furhter and further out till you're down to one per week and then just drop them (and then continue with just prenatal containing DHA at that point.) Should take about 3 weeks. Continue extra folic acid through first trimester of pregnancy, then gradually wean off by spacing doses down to amount in prenatal. Everything else is fine and safe into pregnancy.
We have found that sticking to one attempt is a strong PINK sway tactic. Thus, we have more than one attempt.
If you believe in Shettles timing, do OPK strips and have one attempt the night of positive OPK, again the next morning, and then again the following night (last two attempts would be on O day) Have DH release on his own or with you, with a condom, every 2-4 days thru the whole cycle, starting as far in advance of attempt as is feasible.
If you DON'T believe in SHettles, have unprotected sex every 2-4 days starting as far in advance as is feasible and then tack the 3 attempts at or around positive OPK onto that.

Since after weaning my baby from breastfeeding, I discovered I now have like 34 days cycle. And I ovulate on cd 20, 21 or 22 depending, but I've been ttc for 3 months now and nothing has happened. Don't know if you have any suggestions for me.
I know clomid, vitex and b6 regulate cycle and luteal phase but they sway pink, that's why I don't want to take them. What can I do to bring back my cycle to the normal range?
I don't know if that's why I've not been able to conceive.
I'm 29 and DH is 35. Didn't try for my first, it was a one time thing.
Don't know what's going on now.

That is still a normal range cycle. You do not have to do anything about that, it's fine. The LP is in normal range as well
DO NOT use Clomid, vitex, or B6. You do not need Clomid and the herb/vitamin may really really mess up your cycle and make it even longer.
That is NOT why you haven't gotten pregnant yet. Sometimes your body just isn't ready those first few cycles.
ARe you doing anything else to sway (like baking soda or egg white)?? ARe you only having one attempt on O day?? Those things really do prevent pregnancy.

The first time I did nothing, the 2nd cycle I did preseed, not as a douche, just used it as a lube. Then 3rd one did egg white and bsf just during the attempt. Still BFNs. So don't know why.
I'm getting a little bit worried. Cos I'll like my kids to be close in age cos I'd want to go back to school for my postgraduate.

Egg white and BSF really cut odds of conception. I do not recommend them at all.
Are you trying for one attempt on O?? That really cuts odds of conception by a lot.
It takes fully fertile people doing nothing to sway, an average of 3-6 months. I think the first couple months just weren't your month. Stay away from BSF and egg whites, they DO cut odds of conception. If trying for one attempt that is not going to help you conceive at all (and we get 70% GIRLS with one attempt) so I really recommend increasing that.

I try 2x. The night of +opk and the next morning. But don't do frequent release. Just started that this month. Every 4days bd.
Also, I'm not planning on using anything this month. My O is due between Tuesday and Thursday next week. Cos it changes by a day every month

@ Atomic, My first attempt starts tonight. Confused on what to do. What supplements do i take today and tomorrow? What kind of drinks? Position? Should hubby drink redbull cos he doesn't drink coffee? Freaking out.

Oh sorry I only just now saw this.
I think you should just keep doing what you've been doing in terms of supplements and drinks. We have no evidence that anything you do at the last minute with supps or drinks matter.
Most people do either doggy style or deep missionary with your legs over his shoulders for position. If you can have an O do so.
I don't really think the caff. right before helps, a Red Bull once in a while won't hurt anything but he needs to keep them to a once in a while thing. Energy drinks have anecdotally seemed to sway pink.

We are going off of our pink sway results to determine number of attempts for blue. Our data for pink showed very clearly that one attempt swayed pink about 70% of the time, this fell to about 65% with two attempts, and all the way down to 45% with three. And this was with overall good pink sways! So since we saw that trend in our pink sway results we now aim at 3 attempts for blue. :)
