View Full Version : Excercise for swaying

After a few failed TTC attempts on Clomid, we decided to have a break.
I was very strict with diet for 6months & lost ALOT of weight. I was thin to begin with & actually became very noticeably thin to the public.
Im easing back into the LE diet & will do sups etc again but this time I think Id like to include excercise. Im not lazy & am very active BUT I am not one to 'train' or excercise. It may be a challenge but I really have the urge to 'get fit'. Afterall, it may help me conceive.
My question is, from what Ive read its all about cardio and NOT weights.
Can I do cardio classes like pump? I think they make you hold weights.
Is squatting classes as cardio?
Im naturally quite toned & I do build muscle quick so Id like to know whats best to do/avoid for a pink sway. Am I better off staying as a couch potato?
Thanks

I decided to go couch potato route as I build muscle easily and that was a big worry.
You need to exercise for a minimum of 6 weeks prior to ttc as initially exercise can raise testosterone. You need to exercise for a minimum of an hour 6 days a week.
I would avoid pump and squats, cardio is the best, jogging/running working on your endurance
Hope this helps

I agree with 2lovelyboys. I am adding exercise into my sway. I run for an hour a day. I couldn't run this far in the beginning so would run for as long as I could and then finish the hour either power walking or on the cross trainer with no resistance.
I like to do the same thing every day (running) as I feel like never giving my muscles a chance to repair and recover when I am using the same muscles every single day, means that there is less chance of building muscle.
I am also very thin to begin with and I would be able to tell if I put on muscle. I definitely haven't. I have been doing this for almost three weeks. I have six weeks until my first attempt and to be honest, I will pretty upset if we don't get pregnant first round. I know that is probably very likely that we won't, but I really don't want to extend this exercise period as I am scared I will lose too much weight. Maybe something to keep in mind if you are finding it hard to fall pregnant.

If you lose weight quickly then as a general rule I would not have you do the exercise. I don't think it will help you conceive and may stop ovulation all together.
Re exercise, this is one of those things where it is tough to make a blanket prescription that would work for everyone because someone who has a fair bit of weight to lose, would have different rules because you can't add muscle when you're losing weight. For those who have no weight to spare, exercise can both make you lose excess weight and stop ovulating (and exercise can cause this even if you do not lose an ounce) OR build muscle because you can't be losing weight at the same time.
What I would advise YOU personally to do is brisk walking 60 min. a day. That's it.

also if you are doing the exercise and need extra cals, empty carbs and Omega 6 fats (aka margarine, shortening, corn oil) are best.
