I saw that on the news tonight in Australia. WOW what are the chances of that?

Wow amazing. Just shows you could go on forever and not get desired gender!

Wow. There's no way that's chance. Definitely not encouraging - I think my DD was a happy fluke.

My friend send me this story saying imagine if you were this couple. I think it's crazy and makes me sad. It makes me think wow if I do convince myself to try one more time, I will probably just end up with another boy. This is what makes me think all men do not have 50/50 x and y sperm.

First of all, let's be careful about tossing out words like "crazy" for people who just happen to have different beliefs than others do. We're all friends here and some people choose to have families that are larger than the norm, including some people who frequent the site.
Secondly, it is biologically impossible for men to make only X or only Y sperm. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/sperm-qualities/552-guess-what-men-make-50-50-x-y-sperm.html Whatever is causing this to happen, it is NOT that the man is making only X or only Y sperm.

Wow! I think it's really kinda cool. She certainly had a unique family. I bet there isn't another out there like it!
A man at the park the other day was telling me about his friend, who just found out they were expecting their 8th daughter. I thought that was a long shot, tossing that coin 8 times the same. But 12 is even more rare.
She has my props for managing 12 kids...period! No matter what genders they are. I am in awe of mamas with big families. I barely keep my head on straight with three!

Amazing story! Don't forget ladies, a good fraction of those 12 boys are pretty much adults now and are huge help to her with the little ones. My 15 y.o. is like a free live-in baby sitter. Kids end up raising themselves in big families and never lack attention!

That is so true! I was #2 of 7 kids and from the time I was 7 years old I was helping raise my younger siblings. I had almost all the responsibility at age 15 and older as my mom had to go back to work to help support so many kids.
My sister was 15 years younger and we got so sick of explaining to people that I was her sister that we started playing a long when people said, "ask your mom...etc."

lol, my brother is 16 years older than me and it was the same for us. He would take me to an amusement park or cinema and act like a big kid. Everyone admired him and told me what a great father I had!

Same here. I'm sure whatever they have it will be in the news :) I thought she said she wanted another boy first but that may just be a coping mechanism

For whatever reason, people seem to get the worst GD with #2 and #3. I know of several ladies with 5,6,7 and while they still of course have the desire, it's not the life-ruining levels that it can be (esp. with that 3rd one, it seems very hard to take for some reason) I strongly suspect by the time you've had 12 boys you've made your peace with it. :) Another boy would prob. be easier and def more of a "known" quantity. My husband was really actually frightened of having a girl - he was like, well, we know we can do the boy thing and have a good outcome, but what if we screw up a girl?? AND even I had my moments where I'd be going along la, la, la, buying hairbows and then I'd be like "OMG anorexia" LOL. :) IT's like you suddenly realize there is this world of fears that you never even stopped to think about before.
