this was my first month taking bites and saw palmetto. I can tell the saw palmetto is working so that is great. I stopped taking the bites on cycle day 14. its now day 18 and I still haven't had a pos. opk and my bbts have been all over the place this month. I'm worried I'm not going to ovulate at all this month. I have a few q's:

is this normal?
I'm still taking the saw palmetto because we are not ttc this month, should I stop?
I will have to stop the saw palmetto Bc I will be using clomid next cycle, I'm afraid of a rebound effect when I stop it, is this likely? if I take it til af will me stopping make my testosterone go way up?
why cant I take clomid with sp? are there specific warnings or just because clomid.messes with your. hormones so much?

thanks for the help!

Saw Palmetto and Vitex shouldn't be taken together I'm not sure if that's what caused it but I think they counter act each other or something so you should only use one or the other...

To answer the questions I can...

Yes, you can take them together...lots of ladies have...including myself at one point.
There is more of a chance of your cycle being messed up if you take both...BUT...thats also not necessarily a bad thing.
I think the saw palmetto actually messes up your cycle more than the vitex does...both should be stopped a few days before you normally expect to O. And definitely do NOT take saw palmetto all the way through O when you are trying to conceive. (I understand you're not this month)

No, you can't take either one of them while on clomid...clomid acts on your hormones just as these two supps act on your hormones.

As for rebound effect, not sure about that one at all, but I kind of doubt it.

Good luck!!!

I would just keep temping & doing opks...it may just be late.

Yes, both vitex and sp can delay O when taken nonstop, so I would stop them.

I would not worry aobut a rebound effect, that's not how the herbs work.

The saw palmetto interferes with the way the Clomid works and so it would not work for you if you take them together.

you can take SP and vitex, but not SP and peppermint tea.

if you ovulation is late do to vitex and SP, if I already took clomid from days 3-7, and the Dr. is giving it to me again on day 14th, is clomid strong enough to have bring it on? Little history. I took vitex and sP, after my period to my AF for swaying purpose. I then started clomid and on day 10th, the Dr. told me I had not ovulated yet. When should I of ovulated if I did take clomid on days 3-7? I am going back to the dr office on wednesday and if there is still NO O, they will give me 100mg and then they want me to come back in two days for the shot. what do u think?

Stay off vitex & saw palmetto while on Clomid..you cannot take them together.
Also, for anyone else reading...you should stop vitex & SP a couple of days before you normally expect to ovulate. Don't take it all the way to AF.

:agree: the only exception is those people who want to take V and SP all month long in the 6-8 weeks before their Clomid cycles. Personally I think this makes more trouble than it's worth.
