I am on cd 27 with no ovulation so far (no temp shift or +opk) and I usually ovulate between day 17-20. I believe I am having an anovulatory cycle, which I have never had before, that I know of. Has anyone here had one before? What were your experiences? Did you get a period or did you have to have your md give you meds to induce a period? Thanks in advance.

Hi missmegrn, due to my PCOS I've had a bunch of anovulatory cicles and I had my period regularly, some times some days later, but it came every month. My OB told me I would just ovulate like 3-4 times a year, that's why it took me so long to conceive both my boys. This time pregnant by surprise with just one shot... Good luck to you!!

I ALWAYS ovulate...except when we evacuated last year.
I guess the anxiety threw off my cycle.
Anyway, no...I did not have to see my doctor for AF to start...it actually started a day early & was lighter than usual, but the next month everything was back to my normal.
If you've lost a lot of weight, sometimes you can become anovulatory.

I have and I end up spotting, but no Af (or really light Af for like 1-2days)...then once that stops I starts CD1 again, it' so frustrating. I'm sorry I know how you feel last cycle I ovulated on CD27, here I' on CD19 and nothing yet:(

I had them a couple times when I was exercising a lot and lost a lot of weight. Period came later than I expected (altho not by much) and was just a little spotting.
If you get to CD 35 without ovulating I'd call them and they will either tell you to wait it out or give you something to bring on AF. That is the remedy for most people, the AF acts like a reset button and then everything just kinda shakes itself out.

Thanks for all of your responses. Its definitely hard waiting. Funny thing is I was supposed to have my annual appt on 8/29 but they had to cancel because my md is on vacation (appt was scheduled after last years annual), go figure. I have an appt 9/12 for sure. I had mentioned that my ovulation was delayed and if I could get something to jump start the next cycle, but they said I needed to wait until the time passed when I would have gotten my period and even then I would need to come see them before they gave me anything since they haven't seen me in a year. I will definitely call them again if my cycle gets to cd35 with no results either way. I am still testing with opks because my temp is still low and my cm is very thin and watery and has been for at least 5 days. This waiting game definitely sucks.

I had an anov cyle after I miscarried (pretty sure anyway)...but my cycle was still 30 days (a bit longer than usual). When I was getting pre-testing done for HT I had 35 and a 41-day cycle (of course, right? Like you tell them you're perfectly fertile and then you ovulate like 10 days late). And I DID ovulate both of the cycles, just didn't catch the +OPK, but confirmed by progesterone tests.

Wanted to update this thread. I FINALLY had a +opk on sunday cd 28 with ovulation on Monday cd 29 confirmed with a bbt temp shift. YAY. I don't have much hope for this cycle, we were able to only bd on night of +opk due to work and sleep schedules as well as children's sleep schedules. Hopefully next month will be a bit better and less stressful and long.

I will need all the luck in the world. The diet is the only thing about my sway that is blue. Dh can't stop his antidepressants or smokeless tobacco which sway pink. Our bd pattern right now is not looking good either. I wish I could wave a magic wand and give everyone including myself our desired genders.

Remember though, people get boy opposites with full on pink sways!! You have every chance in the world at a boy!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Its just hard to be optimistic when almost everything is going against my sway. At the end of the day I don't know what my future holds. What is meant to be will be, and I think I am okay with that for now.
