View Full Version : Could I have possibly hurt my sway?

OK I feel like absolute crap. I am having intestinal hardships over here. Then to top it all off I woke up this morning coughing and had a runny nose. But then within a few hours that subsided and now I just have a bit of mucus in my throat .. so I am not sure if that's just allergies or not. But the loose bowels are killing me. It's not diarrhea but I am going to the bathroom at least twice a day and I am a one dayer. It all started Saturday morning. Our first TTC day was Friday night and I woke up Saturday morning nauseated but I got up and then I felt better. Then Saturday night was when the bowels started happening. Then Sunday morning I was woken up by my nausea .. and Sunday night I started feeling nauseated again. Then this morning like I said earlier I felt really nauseated and I just can't shake it. My stomach is in shambles. I am just so uncomfortable. So now I am freaking out that I may have possibly been sick this whole time and I swayed pink big time. :( I called my mom this morning and of course she says to me "You're pregnant. The day after I conceived your brother I was vomiting so bad for weeks that I thought I had the flu." So I went on to tell her that she is crazy and it's impossible to feel symptoms that soon. But my nipples are killing me and I do remember the night I got pregnant with DD I was sick from that day on for the next month. I had loose bowels and nausea but I just thought I had a stomach bug. But I think it just has to be a coincidence because there is no possible way I could be sick this quickly right? Ultimately I just want to know if anyone know if I am sick if I hurt my sway? Or could I possibly be ok because the throat/drainage thing didn't start until today? I am stressing out :( Here is a timeline to make everything I said easier to understand.
Friday (Day before +OPK smiley) - First BD attempt 6:00 pm
Saturday (-OPK at 10 am +OPK at 5:30) - Woke up feeling nauseated but it went away BD at 7:45 pm. Later that night around midnight had the first set of loose bowels.
Sunday (+OPK at 10 am - OPK at 8 pm) - Woken up by nausea. Had some loose bowels. Fell asleep feeling nauseated.
Monday- (-OPK 7 am) Woken up by nausea and a slight cough from mucus in throat. Runny nose. Then blew my nose hasn't been runny since but I still have some drainage. (possibly allergies?) Still nauseated on and off today and have been having loose bowels. My nipples are also killing me which I haven't ever experience with O before .. but I am not saying it's not possible for this to be the first time.
Any ideas? Think my sway was OK? I have barely been able to eat today btw. This is the first day I am suffering from a lack of appetite.

Ttc a prince, you sound very stressed out you poor thing. Firstly I am no expert but I still think your in with a good chance for blue. Have you been doing diet and supps for ttc blue ?
I didn't think you could get preg symptoms this early but you never know??

I am. DD started Kindergarten today. I feel like poop. I honestly don't think it is pregnancy symptoms .. I don't know if it's possible. All I know is that to top it all off my nipples really hurt and they never hurt. I thinking maybe Ovulation just hit me really hard this month so I am super sensitive? You better believe at 10DPO I am taking a test though. I am kind of hoping I am not pregnant just in case I am sick and this isn't just a severe case of allergies because I am super worried about my sway now :(

There is NO WAY that you can start having symptoms the day of ovulation. Your body doesn't even know you are pg until the fertilized egg implants. Sometimes things are just coincidences and we happen to remember them because that's the month we got pg or whatever. Or, sometimes people ovulate early and don't realize it - remember, when our moms were getting pg they didn't have OPK and stuff like that and many ladies didn't even know about ovulation back them (well at least my mom, your mom is prob the same age as me LOL).
I think you are sick with a little bug (altho eating more food can increase the rate things pass thru, as well). Please don't worry or stress about your sway. It's done with now for better or for worse and you can drive yourself crazy but there's no changing it, it's done now.
The only thing to be concerned about is whether you could possibly have ovulated earlier than you thought you did and are further along in pg (7 days would be enough, 10 days more likely) and again, if that's the case and you are pregnant, it's also out of your hands and no changing it anyway.
The thing is, I don't guess about people's chances at their sway. If it's done, it's done, and all the picking it apart in the world will not serve any purpose. So I can't and won't even speculate, "oh did this wreck my sway". People do everything "right" and get opposites and get their DG from half-assed sways, so all you do with that kind of thinking is spin your wheels unneccesarily.
What I would have you do, to put your mind at ease, is take a pg test. the odds are it will be negative. if it's positive, you Oed early and you can think back about your attempt (and that's actually better news than you think because it means you weren't sick!) If you didn't O early, and actually are sick and not just some combo of eating more on HE Diet and allergies, I think you got your attempt in before you really got under the weather anyway so no matter what, it's all good.

That is what I am hoping. That because we got 3 attempts in before I started to feel like absolute hell that my body was still good to go. And I know you are right there is nothing I can do. My friend Heather who just found out she is pg with her second boy was living a total girl lifestyle. Loosing weight. Diet soda like it was crack. One time attempt. DP is a smoker. Jump and dump. You name it, she was doing everything girl friendly. And yea I am sure that I am not feeling pg symptoms. And you are probably right about my mom haha. She is actually older than you thought she is almost 64. They had me in their 40s. I was actually the only teen pregnancy in our whole family. It was quite a shocker! Lucky for me they loved DH and we had already been dating and friends for 4-5 year prior so it wasn't too bad haha! I am just hoping and praying that this is my allergies getting the best of me. My ears are a little itchy inside so fingers crossed!!!!! Now hopefully the next time I will be making a post will be to add my boy sway because I got a BFP! Oh and I don't think I could be pregnant from anytime earlier than Friday because I was still making DH pull out before our first Friday attempt.

Hi Prince,
I think you're good! REALLY! You got your attempts in before you got sick so don't worry. I know it is hard though. Do you always get a positive on day 10? This month I tested on day 10 (neg), then on day 12 (maybe 11 - FF and I don't agree on what day I ovulated) I got a BFP! Hang in there. :) In 10 weeks hopefully we will both be having our NT scans and looking at blue nubs!!! It will be hard waiting the extra 2 weeks but I want to go closer to 14 to have a better chance at accurate results. Keep us posted!

Hey Happy! Thanks! I really hope I did! Today I feel almost 100% better so I am thinking it might have just been allergies. The weather here has been all over the place. I don't know when I would get one because when I was pregnant with DD I was only 17 and I had only been off of the pill for a week before I got pregnant. My doctor had told me that I should be fine and that seeing DH (my boyfriend at the time) one day out of the month that close to being off the pill I should be fine. She was WRONG! Haha so I saw him Feb 16th. I found out I was pregnant on March 21st. So at that point I was already almost 2 weeks late. I think I am going to start testing around 10DPO. What brand of test are you using? By the way I am so happy for you with you BFP!!!! :) And I hope we are both hearing blue very soon!!!! I think I will wait until at least 16 weeks. With DD she was a boy at 14 weeks soooo I am a little weary of getting sex determined around that time.

Hi Prince,
I'm not sure where you live but where I live they do the NT scan between 12-14 weeks. No later. It's during that scan that you can speculate if the baby is a boy vs girl based on the "angle of the dangle" theory. If you haven't heard of it, go to the gender ultrasound prediction board on here and there is an article on it. It's 50/50 at 12 wks, a little more at 13 and then at 14 wks it around 85% accurate or something. THEN you can have it confirmed at your 18-20 wk scan.
I've seen a lot of women pretty much know what they are having because the 14 wk u/s screams boy or girl. It's kinda fun and in some cases you know a month ahead of time although I wouldn't go painting the nursery in case you're in the 15%! :)
I can't wait for my NT though...10 wks to go! :)
I hope you're feeling better! :)

Just to clarify, the STUDY got 85% accuracy. But remember, that does not necessarily translate to the real world, where people have techs that may be having a bad day or are less skilled than those who were in the study. They don't go around testing every tech out there and saying "oh they all have 85%", the study in question I think was done at two particular hospitals and a handful of techs and does not necessarily translate to any one person's indivudual odds. ;)

I can second that about the people who live the total boy or girl lifestyle and still get a boy or girl! Gosh neighbours of ours just found out they're expecting their first boy and they are big smokers, eat like crap, she's thin, that's why I totally believe in 'whats meant to be will be' but hey Im still happy I tried the whole swaying thing, but it sure did take up so much of my time!
I really don't think you ruined your sway! but like atomic said 'whats done is done'
