Had my first scan today. Measures 6 weeks 3 days (my tickers off cause I ovulated late)
Heartbeat was in the 130's. It was definitely 160-180's with DD at 6 weeks.

WDYT? OWT or is it likely a boy?

I've heard it's an old wives tale...
But that there may be some truth to it when you're in labor.

Heart rate is most accurate around 10 weeks. But six weeks could mean something. Anything after is inaccurate because they move etc.
But i seen a study and early heart rates are quite accurate.

Heartbeat was much lower with my 3rd baby then to my other two which gave me some hope but nope ended up being a Girl!

No, no, a thousand times no! It doesn't work and has caused more trouble and heartache for people than just about any method.

My daughter's heartrate was the lowest of all. A couple times she had heartrates in teh 120's and I was like oh no she's dying!!! :p Two of my boys had very high heartrates in the 180's quite a lot - one is very easily stressed out and the other is a human dynamo that never stops.

Please post a link, becasue the only study I have seen that was accurate on heartrate and gender was during labor and even then it was not anywhere near 100% accuracy.

I don't know where it is. I read it when I first got pregnant with Ezra. I had an OB Tell me too Its pretty accurate then but not as they get older.

I"ve had OB's tell me that it isn't. I'm seriously not trying to quibble with ya, I just need the info to be accurate because this one OWT has caused people a lot of pain and heartache (including me, with my 180 beats per minute/Chinese Gender Calendar GIRL who was a boy the entire time)

If there is a study out there, I want to see it. The one I have seen was during labor and is probably because girls tolerate labor better than boys. What I have read is that the heartrate depends on what stage of pg you are in and does not have to do with gender.

I think like most theory's it's been proven correct for lots of people but also wrong. I have guessed many genders by the heartbeat and it's only been wrong once.

My boys both had slow heartbeats. I've been listening to this ones since 9 weeks and it was originally 180 but now around 165. I won't be going out and buying pink just yet, I'm quite certain I'm carrying another boy.

It's a fun old wives guessing game to play but I wouldn't think too much into it. I think I like a nub guess, I would rather get all boy guesses and it turns out to my first girl, then get a super girly nub but it is a boy (which has happened plenty of times).

On a fun factor, I would guess boy for you gurly! :) Hope I'm right xxx

This is so funny, my dd is a ball of energy!
Guess I'll just have to wait and see
