Hi I was meant to be Swaying in June but now I'm waiting a few months longer. Just wanting to wish you luck

Hi, Holly! I was going to start in May but it looks like I won't ovulate until June 1st-ish so I would love to join you! My sway changes about every 5 min and I think in the end, we'll just do what feels right for us. I am so excited for you and all the other Mamas-to-be who will be conceiving for the very 1st time. It's such a wonderful and surreal experience! Get ready to start crying at diaper commercials and little girls with their Mamas in stores and such. Those hormones go crazy when you're preggers!

I'm wishing you lots of luck on your sway and sending you quick BFP vibes so you'll get her on your 1st try! :luck::cheer::luck:

Pink dust to you too, Uma! I expect to O around the 23rd of next month (am Oing now, so hard to be patient until then!). We wanted to wait until June to start trying because I would love a spring or summer baby. Since this is my first, I'm pretty much doing the diet and maybe some timing, though not messing around with timing too much since the diet is so hard to be on. I'm heading to the OBGYN this afternoon since I've experienced some spotting after DTD, so hopefully it's nothing serious!

Oh, count me in too. I should be Oing any time now and hoping to do one attempt next month, and going to try a bit harder in July.

Good luck girls!

I am sort of in this club... I will DTD at the end of the month but won't O until July 1! I was so tempted to try this month but I just got off antibiotics for a ruptured ear drum and that drug sways boy. I still have one more O in June that I have hold off on.

My MIL told me not to have another winter baby... DS1 was born in March and it snowed for 3 days before he was born, she almost crashed on the highway. DS2 it snowed 1wk before he was born and for several days after. I don't want a Jan baby because it is to close to Christmas and kids born around that time tend to get less focus on their birthday. I figured since I have a Feb and Mar baby that I needed a Apr baby... I have their birth stones around my neck with a necklace my hubby gave me and I need a diamond (I don't like the stones for Jan, May, and July to dark).

If I don't get preg in July (2 o's) then I will go for Sept... My hubbies family (and my boys) has birthdays in... 2 FEB, 1 MAR, 2 APR, 2 MAY, and 1 OCT. My family and myself... 1 JAN, 1 FEB, 1 MAR, 1 MAY, 1 JUN, 2 JUL, 1 AUG, 2 SEP, 1 OCT, AND 2 DEC.

I am planning my sway for the birth months... I had both my boys a week after their due dates and the Dr thinks it is because I was very relaxed... so just maybe #3 will be born after or close to the due date!

Count me in! I have 2 boys, 2 and 4 years, and would love to add a little lady to our brood! I am taking supplements and vitex. DH is taking liquorice root. I'm doing ok on the diet, although I'm not being too strict on myself. I've finally managed to skip breakfast for the last 2 days. I'm planning freq bd with a cut off, I'm going to time it by opk, when I get a pos I'm going to dtd the day after then stop! I've also got rephresh and silk ready for the attempt!!!! That's about it, really excited about swaying with everybody and supporting each other. Good luck to all! :cheerteam:

Hi ladybug! Looks like we are O buddies next month, lol. What is your plan on timing? Because the diet has been such a challenge, I'm thinking about BD every other day up until the day before O...I wonder if that's too risky??? Are you doing the diet as well?

Hi ladies - count me in! I have three boys - 5 year old twins and a 22 month old. I swayed very very gently for my youngest, but obviously it didn't work. I'll be ovulating sometime near the end of June, but I still BF my 22 month old once a day, so my cycle isn't completely regular yet. As a result of that and the fact that I completely messed up my timing last time for O+12, I'm probably going to ignore timing (except maybe avoid BD on O-day since that's when all of my boys were conceived) and just focus on diet.

I'm doing a mix of the low everything diet and the IG one - basically, I follow the low everything one all day, then about 2-3 times a week have a chicken recipe from the IG girl cookbook (I haven't been doing so well with the vegetarian thing every day). On those days my protein is a little higher than the 40 g max (more like 60 g once I include milk and yogurt), but the other days I keep well below it.

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you. I'm still quite close with a lot of the IG ladies I swayed with last time around - there's nothing that will create a tight bond quite like suffering through a sway together! :)

May 19th, 2011, 09:13 AM
Hi ladies - I'm not officially swaying yet (DH wants no more kids!) but I've been following the diet and taking supplements anyway, as our previous 3 children (twin boys, nearly 5 and a baby boy 8 months) were all conceived when we weren't really trying. I've been tracking my cycles for the past few months and getting a bit better at recognizing the ovulation signs though feel more practice is needed...
As for the diet, since I'm a "secret swayer", I try to be really good during the day - no breakfast, peppermint tea, no salt matzoh crackers with fat free cottage cheese or sugarless strawberry jam and yogurt as lunchtime meal and for suppers trying to avoid the big no-no's - tomatoes/red, red meat, salt..while keeping my protein portions on the smaller side.. so far husband hasn't noticed or at least hasn't commented. He thinks I gave up bacon, burgers, etc. because I'm trying to nudge off the last 5 pounds of the baby weight. good luck to everyone -

Hey Hollyberry...we are cycle buddies!!!! I plan to use abstinence until I get a positive on my OPK, looking at a 1 to 2 day cut off....I did freq bd with both boys so I will try that with my first attempt....I am doing the diet....Low everything that is...I am losing weight...thats what matters, i hope anyway....I have my plan in place and I will do what feels right..I am a lazy swayer...I kinda hope that approach will get me a girl cause I was so uptight the other 2 times i was ttc....Do you have a plan yet?

I was so good with the diet this week, and I was bad tonight. I was at a wedding shower for a friend at a restaurant, and I ended up getting pizza and chocolate gelato for dessert. At least I didn't order the huge gourmet burger and handcut fries I really, really wanted. The pizza was a bit salty because it had pesto sauce on it instead of tomato, but there was only bocconcini cheese on it, which has hardly any sodium. It wasn't the worst thing on the menu I could have ordered, but it also wasn't the best. I have no excuse for the chocolate gelato, but I've gotta say it was sooooo yummy after 2 weeks of no chocolate. I'm amazed my stomach could hold all that food after 2 weeks of eating hardly anything. I hope this doesn't blow my sway.

Don't worry about it mocha girl! Atomic said in another post, even when times are bad occasionally people had a good day and I think that's a good point. I'm not going to stop myself from going out for 6 or more weeks!!!! Don't feel guilty about the occasional bad day, x

Thanks, Swish. I'm not too concerned, except for the fact that I fear there will be more nights like this in the weeks to come. My mother is coming to visit this week and my in-laws are coming in a few weeks. I'm sure there will be more dinners out and it's also going to be hard to eat strictly on the diet at home when they're here since I don't want anyone to know about the swaying. My mother and I are very close, so I may tell her about my diet, but there's no way I can tell my in-laws. They are going to be staying with us for a whole week! I thought maybe I can eat my bland dinner while cooking everyone else's dinner, then just pick at whatever I've made for everyone at the actual meal. It's going to be tricky.

I know what you mean, I'm not telling anyone except my husband, mostly because I don't want them to worry about me being disappointed if I don't get a dd. I eat out with friends and have a family meal every Sunday, I'm trying to think of good excuses, like I'm trying to avoid x because of my eczema!!! It's so hard and extra hard when you'd normally tell those people everything

Mochagirl
May 22nd, 2011, 07:30 AM
Sounds like my problem. At first, I didn't even tell my DH because he doesn't believe in swaying and thinks I'm crazy. Now that he knows it's a little easier. I'm not strictly doing the low everything diet because I still want to eat some meals with my kids and I want them to eat healthier stuff than pasta every night. Luckily, they seem to enjoy some of the chicken recipes from the IG girl cookbook. Some of my friends know about the diet (not all the details - just that I'm trying to avoid salt and red meat), mainly because I needed to have someone to complain to. I'm debating telling my Mom because she's my best friend - but I know she'd worry about how unhealthy the diet is and also would worry I'm setting myself up for disappointment. All of my loved ones knew how upset I was when I found out ds3 was a boy, and I know they don't want to see me hurt like that again. I keep reminding them that that little guy is now the light of my life, so no matter what happens I know my life will be richer with another baby.

Hi girls count me in this group too. I am starting trying in June. I have been on the girl diet now for just under seven weeks I have had the odd bad day but apart from that it's been killing me LOL. I have lost lots of weight (too much I look horrible lol). I was going to start when AF arrived but have put it off another four weeks as I was on antibiotics the beginning of the month for a gum infection so do not want to muck up all the good work the diet has done.

DH has been fantastic and is taking his Licorice root AF-O and taking his sups. Laying off the coffee etc. He has been my rock through all this.

I will be due to ovulate around the 20th June I think but things are all crazy with my cycles so I will be on clomid and may ovulate later than expected.

Mocha- first of all I believe what At.Sag. says about NOT STRESSING...I am trying very hard to believe that I am just making the environment as friendly for a girl as possible just in case God thinks it would work for us that way I really remind myself to be kind to myself and to stay relaxed...also I do allow myself the occasional chocolate ice cream because it is acidic and I am still losing weight....i honestly think just because we are trying at all it has to make somewhat of a difference...and i also think because we believe it will happen it just might! :) (of curse yesterday I read how At. s. said that if you are a defeatest you lower your testosterone so I don' t know if I should use positive thinking or be like Eyore??? Best wishes to you and to all I know how hard the diet is...I'm halfway tomorrow!!! WHEW!!!

Mochagirl
May 22nd, 2011, 01:24 PM
Thanks, Polish Princess. I'm not letting myself get too stressed (I'm usually a very optimistic person), but last time I swayed I relaxed my sway too much and ended up with a (wonderful) boy! I'm definitely not following the diet 100% - I'm sort of combining the low everything diet with the ig one (allowing myself some chicken), then trying not to stress too much when I cheat. I hope that when I average my diet out over 6 weeks all the good days I had will mean the bad days won't count for as much. I am definitely losing weight, so that should help the sway regardless.

Sounds like a great plan! Since this is our first baby, I'm just doing the diet and timing this time around. I'm trying to do the low everything diet with occassional chicken/fish here and there. The weekends are the hardest times not to cheat as we live close to family and tend to have a lot of get-togethers and such, especially in the spring/summer. What kind of things are you eating? All in all, I've lost two lbs from the diet alone and decided not to do the intense cardio...totally taking the lazy way out! I'm still debating about the timing issue...what kind of OPKs do you use? Maybe I'll try what you're doing - once you get a positive on your OPK, are you going to BD once?

Hey girls, how are you all doing? Couple of questions for you. Anyone taking vitex? If so, how much are you taking? Also how much folic acid are you taking, I'm only taking 400 because that is amount in pregnacare which is what I took with my first two. Do you think that's enough? Thanks

Hi, Swish. I've been taking Vitex for about 5 wks now. I take one capsule 3x a day (400 mg each capsule). Wish I'd been taking it longer but didn't know about it...Hoping it helps! Well, if I don't get a BFP from this first attempt, maybe we'll be Oing around the same time again! I'm still trying to firm things up and still not sure. I have Aci-jel, RepHresh and Sylk in my arsenal. I'm kind of wishing I had Replens since that keeps working to maintain a low pH but since I've already spent so much $$$, I think I'll go the Aci-jel + Sylk route and see what shakes out. I'm starting to feel pretty apathetic about the whole thing...I was really, REALLY wanting to execute things "perfectly" but now I'm just kind of...ehhhh...whatever lol. I think all that Peppermint tea and the diet is doing it's job (FX!). I think taking another round to regroup and destress is an excellent idea and should work well for you! GL, Mama!

Hi girls! Want to join you all in the June attempt. I am new to this site but was on and off on IG. I started TLC in February and March and stoped for couple of month as I had to take antibiotics. Now we are planning to restart our endeavor :) I was on the diet somewhat strict for the first 2 month but now I am really cheating a lot. I don’t it eat red meat tomatoes, potatoes and try to stay away from salt as much as possible but as I said the diet is not perfect anymore. I start eating fruits, some salad, having coffee and chocolate, also we eat chicken almost every day. In terms of sport I am trying to exercise at list 3 -4 times a week. I am not loosing wait :( May be just 1-2 pounds, but it’s nothing. I am a healthy weight but still have like 5 pounds to lose. I am really tired of the TLC and stressing over it, just want to get pregnant now.

Hi Girls!! I would so love to join you this month but I just can't bring myself to try for a Feb baby! LOL I'm due to O(hopefully!) on the 4th of June and my Bday is the end of Feb and my DS1 is in the middle of March...and I have this thing about sharing birth months...so I'm hoping to postpone my O date a bit with the vitex I'm taking and then try for a mid July conception(April Baby):) I'm also starting the diet tomorrow(not hardcore) and getting back into my weight loss and running. I feel pretty good about everything...Have my Kiflow bracelet on, got my house filled with salt lamps, taking a few supps etc. I'm not going to do a cut off because I really want to get preggo but I will do VERY frequent BD during O with Sylk.
I feel better about doing the diet(I was really dreading it) because I'll only be on it for the next 5 weeks or so. If I don't get preggo in July I'm going to tone it down. Anyway, I'll be lurking and sending everyone BFP vibes!! Maybe I'll start a July club:)

I know what you mean about a Feb baby...DS#2 was conceived on a "practice run" the month before we were planning to TTC and was a Feb baby. I was freaking out since I was afraid I'd pop early during "Snomageddon" on east coast in winter of '10. Storms just kept coming and I was really stressed out.

Your sway sounds similar to mine...We'll probably do frequent BD using Sylk (probably a smidge of Aci-jel too). I say Timing-shmiming!

Best of luck to you, DoulaMama!!!

So glad to see you back Doulamama!!!!! I am getting my IUD out on June 15 so I will probably be joining you in July....I am going to try if I do ovulate in June as well...I am doing the same as you when it comes to timing....I am also following the diet the best I can...I am losing weight but I am not overly strict....Good luck to you!!! I will be following you for sure!!!

I too will be doing frequent bedding through ovulation!! I keep going back and forth on whether to start when AF arrives (in a few days) or wait one more cycle. I have been on the diet long enough now. I wish I could make up my mind and stick to it ha ha

If i don't get a BFP this month, I'll be TTC in June, too. :) I actually hope I didn't catch the egg this cycle because 1. my sway SUCKED! and 2. I don't want baby to share a birthday (my oldest is a Feb baby).

Good luck everyone!

How do you guys manage your meals when you have company? I think I picked a bad month to TTC since I just hosted my Mom here for 4 days, my brother's coming for an overnight visit next week, and my in-laws will be coming for a week right around O time!!! I am not a dieter and they all know that, so I can't pretend I'm just trying to lose weight. I caved and told my mom about the diet since she's my best friend anyway, but there's no way I can tell my brother or in-laws. I'm most worried about the in-law visit since it will be around the time it's most important not to cheat. I'll be able to follow the diet during the day no problem since we always have a very informal lunch, but supper will be the challenge. I've thought about preparing myself a bland dinner while I cook theirs and eat it secretly in the kitchen, then give myself a very small portion at the sit-down meal and just push it around my plate and eat the bare minimum (focusing on the things that aren't bad for the diet). WWYD?

That's so hard and has been the worse bit about the diet for me. Can you think of meals that are in the allowed food range, like pasta with tomato sauce or pasta with mushrooms and creme fraiche? Or something you add meat to but just say you're not eating meat because... I've said I've given up meat to improve my skin!!! Any reason will do!!! Hope you work it out

I'm starting to work on a menu now, and I'm coming up with some ideas. I recently discovered salt free chicken broth, so I think I'll make risotto one night - I can make mine in a separate pot and keep the parm low + not add any extra salt then make theirs separately and season it so it's tasty. They'll never know mine is any different than theirs. If I make burgers I thought I could just grill a half chicken breast and eat it on a low sodium bun with low sodium mayo, and since it will be an informal BBQ, maybe no one will notice I'm eating something different (I am eating some protein, by the way, so this isn't a conflict with my diet).

Gosh Mocahgirl, I think that would be hard. Perhaps you can push food around on your plate, get up a lot? Dump some out when no one is looking? Then eat lat at night on the foods you can eat.... Of course then people would be worried about your having an eating disorder! But if you do it stealthily enough, you can make it convincing that you ARE eating the food. Or you could say you've been reducing your salt for health reasons as you realized you were consuming too much sodium (you could even say you got a freaky high BP reading at a wal-mart or something), so now all this "regular" food tastes too salty (this is what I have had to do some of the time)-GL!

I think I might able to not eat much without them noticing. I rarely sit for more than 3 minutes at a time at a meal anyway - at least one of my kids always needs something. I can just bring my food with me to the kitchen and dump some of it maybe. What's going to be really hard are the desserts. My in-laws have a sweet tooth and expect lots of baked goodies when they come, so I'll have to do it. It's going to be reallly hard to watch everyone eat the desserts I worked so hard on when I can't have any myself!

I also thought you could do lots of starters which you can say you are eating in kitchen whilst preparing main, then portions can be smaller. You could even get away with salad based main with lots of filling starters for guests

Great ideas, ladies! I think if I serve everything family-style and let people help themselves AND I make sure there's lots of girl friendly stuff on the table, they might not notice I'm not eating certain foods. For example, I could make shish kebabs, a big salad and some low sodium bread. I could help myself to some of the veggies from the shish kebabs, salad and bread (buttering mine with unsalted butter), and they'll all be so busy serving themselves and eating that maybe they won't notice me not taking the meat.

CD1 for me, TTC this month.... YAY for June!!!

Mochagirl I understand how you are feeling, my mother honestly thinks I am showing the signs of an eating disorder. She keeps buying me cream cakes to eat at home (which I obviously don't). I've just had to stay in a lot more over the past eight weeks. I've had no dinner party's :-( no trips to the pub/resturants. I feel like a recluse!

3boys - that's why gave in and told my Mom. She was staying with me for 3 nights while DH was in Hong Kong, and I knew she'd notice me not eating - she and I usually eat a lot of treats together when she visits. I didn't tell her how extreme the diet because she would have worried far too much. She's already worried about me and all she knows is that I'm eating a low sodium, low fat, high calcium diet. She made a few comments about how I don't have enough nutrients in my body to function properly. She's being supportive, though because she knows how desperately I want this girl. It's not her fault, of course, but she's the main reason for my GD - she and I are best friends and I can't imagine not having a chance at that sort of relationship with my own daughter.

My mum, doesn't agree with DH and I having another baby. It makes me sad that I can't tel her. But she will add so much stress to my TTC journey by keeping on and on that it's irresponsible when I already have three young boys.

DH mum knows and she has been great, cooking us low sodium, low fat meals, it's been nice being able to go round her house and not having to worry. Having said that if I get a fourth boy I wil dread telling her the most as she knows the lengths I have gone through to try and get a girl. Does that make sense?

So for dinner I am making a squash/pumpkin pureer (4cps blended veggies with 4cps water) I am going to use less then a cup on about 1-2cps of pasta... I am so excited o wait no can see I am lying :)

Here is my plan for my sway.....
I have been on the diet for 6 weeks now...I have cheated a few times but I eat totally different than I did when I conceived my boys...
I am taking calcium, magnesium and cranberry and hubby is taking the same
I drink at least 3 crystal light per day and at least 1 caffine free diet soda
I plan to have a hot shower and use an vinegar douche an hour before dtd
Hubby will have a hot shower
We will use sylk as lube and I will do replens fingertip after...
We will also use zyrtec around O time....
I think I am going to dtd thru O...thats the only thing I am unsure about...

We did a trial run and it went OK...PH stayed low....Hubby has trouble going really shallow..we have to work on that...

Am I missing anything? all advice is welcome

af is still a week away for me, and already I find myself reaching for the sweets in the evening. I'm finding sipping peppermint tea helps since with the peppermint taste in my mouth the sweet stuff doesn't taste good anyway :). I did buy some low-fat vanilla ice cream in case I have an emergency. I figure that I'm so good with calories and fat during the day that a small scoop of that every once in a blue moon won't hurt....right? I also sometimes have a thin slice of Swiss cheese if I'm craving salt so much I worry I'm going to cheat. I figure it's better to indulge yourself with not-so-bad treats than to run for the chips/chocolate and all the other glorious foods we miss so much.

ladybug - I had my Mirena IUD out last Wednesday and the doctor said I could ttc straight away (although I'm not because I haven't been doing the diet long enough!). I had a little bleeding on the day of removal, nothing the next day but quite alot the following day and I've had just a little on wiping occasionally this weekend. I guess it might be a few days before you'd want to DTD without protection in case there's any blood hanging around which might raise your pH. I hope all goes well :D

Hi guys! Sorry I haven't been posting much. Had some sad things going on the last week or two. I changed my username from UmaJain to Out of the Blue since I felt like I needed a change.

I may be in the 2ww or I may be gearing up to O. Things have been so crazy so my body is all mixed up. I went off of Vitex 5 days before I was supposed to O & it's still up in the air whether or not I O'ed. I'm so confused but we're just continuing to BD just in case I didn't O yet but I've also stopped drinking cran and peppermint tea to keep any sweet bean safe.

Got my FX for all of you in hopes that late June/early July will bring a tsunami of BFPs!!!

Hey ladies - how's everyone doing? I'm feeling a lot better after my big back injury on Friday, so I don't think it will delay our TTC plans after all. DS3 has started to wean himself - I was away one night at the hospital and he went to bed without a nurse, then he's only asked for his bedtme nurse a couple nights since. This is great news because it means I might be able to start taking Baby Aspirin and Saw Palmetto on time for my attempt - I'm really not good at remembering to drink enough peppermint tea, and I've been taking cranberry, which I know isn't ideal, so I think my sway will improve if I can take these alternate supplements.

AF is due any day now, then the countdown is on! I think I'm due to O on June 22nd.

Wow, Out of the Blue - maybe you'll be the first BFP of the group - you must be so excited! I'm sure I'll start testing almost immediately - I'm planning on eating non-stop as soon as I get that BFP!! :)

In other news, local strawberry season has FINALLY started here in Ontario, Canada. This will make the diet soooo much easier since there's almost nothing I like better than fresh, local strawberries. I went to the farmer's market today and bought a whole flat. Now it's going to be strawberries at lunch, strawberries at dinner, and probably more strawberries for a snack in the evening - Yum! I'd worry that this would make my diet too similar to when I conceived my boys (since I always overindulge in strawberries during strawberry season), but all 3 of them were conceived in the Fall when local strawberries are long gone.

I'm on CD3 now - only 9 days until O is due! I've started taking Saw Palmetto now that ds is no longer nursing, and I finally found Vitex today after much searching and will start taking it tonight. I think I have most of my supplies gathered for our attempt. The one thing I can't find is Zyrtec - I don't think it's available here in Canada. Can someone who has a box tell me what the active ingredient is in it? Maybe I can find a different brand that is the same thing. HI Girls! I'm out of the 2ww for a day....maybe......LOL
I thought I had ovulated 11 days ago but it seems my body is playing tricks on me! For the past few days I've been feeling pregnant (from about 8dpo...or what I thought was 8 dpo...I have been having menstrual type cramping and progressively over the past 2 days my cm has become very watery/creamy with some egg white in it) so I had a feel of my cervix in bed last night and it was SHOW. Last night my opk was slightly darker than what I usually see on a daily basis. This morning I had some EWCM that stretched 7 inches!! Holy crap! I checked my cervix again and it's still SHOW. So I did an opk and it was darker than last night but still not as dark as control line. I took a pic of it and will take a few more opks through the day and then put the pic on here to see what you girls think. Anyway.....
If you were going to have a cycle that you didn't really care if you got pregnant...what would you do? Should I take a whack load of benadryl, put his stuff in a diva cup, pour lime in it...you get the picture...LOL I honestly don't care if I don't get pregnant this cycle because it would mean I'd have a March baby(April is what I would ultimately like:)). I also don't plan on doing the diet anymore than I already have(less meat, less salt, no "bad" foods...that's about it). What to do...???

:D Thanks Girls! I have to catch up on the thread and see where everyone's at! Hope that you're all doing well!!

good luck, pinkin! So you're doing a cut-off then? We have the same O-day, by the way!

June 18th, 2011, 07:12 AM
Thanks Mochagirl! Yeah doing a cut off our ds was concieved right thru o so i thought will try cut off this time around if i get preg and its a boy will be great! and will try again next time! Well will be due same time if we both get bfp !!!!!! What has your plan of attack been?? My ph is at a 4 to 4.5 its going to be a struggle to keep it there tho i think.

June 18th, 2011, 07:34 AM
I don't really check my ph - I think I have low ionic strength because the strips never change colour for me. I did check out of curiousity after dtd last night, and I was at about 6, so not great.

I'm still not 100% sure when we'll stop dtd. I'm 36 and don't want to make it too hard to get pregnant, but at the same time I conceived all my boys on O-day. My biggest worry if I tried a cut-off is that O would arrive late and I'd end up missing my chance for the month. I'm leaning towards dtd until I get a +OPK. This is my last pregnancy for sure - dh already thinks the 3 kids we have are too many, so there's no way we'd go for #5.

I posted my sway here: http://genderdreaming.com/forum/showthread.php?4025-My-Sway

Hopefully this will be the month for all of us! I'm sooooooo ready to be pregnant!

Mocha, remember, timing is not important!! More important is diet and how long can you be really good on the diet???

Mochagirl
June 18th, 2011, 07:55 AM
My thoughts exactly, swish. I'm definitely not attempting anything longer than a 1 day cut-off, and very likely will just BD through O. I am so ready to be done with this diet!

Well we dtd last night and could not do it this morning as dh was in a hurry to leave for work.. anyway i feel like i am going to o i checked my cervix and its high and i have alot of cm and some pains.... My opk is nearly getting to the same colour as control line so i expect to get a positive opk tonight. So looks like i may have a 2 day cut off will see! I am keeping my ph still at a 4 i hope i can keep it there. Anyway I have been taking sudafed every 4 hrs and will continue until after o. Please keep in touch Mochagirl we will be in the 2ww together. Will there be anyone else joining us?????

Congrats pinkin and 3 boys...the wait is on! DH and I dtd again last night, though I didn't have time to take Benedryl since I was out for the evening then we dtd as soon as I got home. I had a bit of cm but not lots - hopefully that is ok. Starting today I will take benedryl every evening. I wish I could find Zyrtec here since I'm not looking forward to feeling drugged every night. My cervix feels pretty soft and open, so I'm still hopeful O will arrive on time.

Thanks swish will keep you posted. My opk is positive now so we dtd sat night so that will be about a 2.5 to 3 day cut off wounder if it will work!! Still keeping ph at a 4 by using a fingertip of acijel but i am already acidic so that makes it easier to keep down. I have been taking sudafed still but do have a little bit of cm. Looks like we will still be oing same day Mochagirl how is your diet going?

Mochagirl

Mochagirl how is your diet going?

I think I've done pretty well all things considered. I was a little undecided at the beginning and included a lot more protein than I think I should have (because the IG diet was so ingrained into me), but when I average out my protein over the past 6 weeks it's definitely waaaay lower than it was before I was TTC. I've gotten so good at reducing sodium that I'm often well below 700mg per day without even trying. I had a few cheats here and there when I had people visiting from out of town, but these occasions were few and far between. I had a bit of a cheat last night because we ordered in Indian food for Father's Day, but I stuck to vegetarian dishes and didn't go too overboard so I hope it didn't mess things up too much. How's your diet going?

pinkin2011
June 20th, 2011, 08:10 AM
My diets going ok too i have cut ALOT of things out that i would normally eat and the amount of salt i would usually eat is not good so yeah i am doing well. It is soooooo hard this diet i just hope to get a bfp so i dont need to worry about it anymore! I dont have high hopes though..I have o pains on right side now so i am sure it is not far off. Have you done a opk yet? Your due 21st aswell? So are you going to bd right thru o still?

Mochagirl
June 20th, 2011, 08:13 AM
I've been having O pains too, so I'm pretty sure it isn't far off. I did 2 OPKs yesterday, and both showed a line, though a lot less dark than the test line. I'm hoping I get a + today, which will mean I will O tomorrow, as expected. We dtd last night, will liekly dtd again tonight, but if I get a + this afternoon I MAY not dtd tomorrow...we'll see. I finally found an alternative to Zyrtec so I've been taking that, and I also took Benedryl last night - I do still have some cm, but it's more watery than EW, so I'm hoping that's ok.

pinkin2011
June 20th, 2011, 08:25 AM
mine is more watery too ( sounds grose talking about that ) but i have been taking benedryl and zyrtec and it has not cleared everything up so i dont know i cant do anymore then i am doing its out of my hands now what ever will be will be!

I was sure I'd get a +OPK today - cm is abundant even with all the antihistamines I'm taking and I had cramps yesterday, but I just checked and the line was lighter than it was yesterday (it was a different brand, though - I'm going to test again later with the original type I was using). I really want to get to the 2WW so I can start obsessing over pregnancy symptoms rather than whether or not I'm forgetting a vital part of my sway :worry:

yeah well you are probably best to stick to the same brand... they say to not drink too much before hand as it can give you a neg reading. your best to try and not drink anything two hrs before hand. You really should trust your body aswell you know best. I oed a day early i just went with all my symptoms and sure enough it did happen early. I can not get rid of all this cm it is a worry to me nothing is working. Oh well what do i do! I hope you get your pos opk very soon... I find once i get a pos i o within like 12 hrs so it is not the 36 to 24 hrs for me.

Now I'm really confused. I did 2 OPKs yesterday and they were showing a definite trend towards positive. The one this morning was almost identical - the test line was still not as dark as the control line. Then I had that one this afternoon, which was a different brand, that showed a lighter test line. I just tested again now with both the new brand and old brand, and on both there is no test line visible at all. Is that mean my surge happened this afternoon sometime? In the past I'm fairly sure my test line stayed dark for at least 24 hours or so - it didn't just disappear like that. What's going on? Oh, and I made sure not to have anything to drink for 3 hours before I tested. My cervix is still soft and very open, but it's hard to tell what's going on with my cm with all these antihistamines and the Rephresh I used today. I don't temp so I won't be able to use that to check if I Oed. I guess I'll wait to see if my cervix changes tomorrow, and stop taking my Vitex and SP if it does.

Here it is!!

I too found that I O'd around less than 24 hrs after the surge started(so around 15 hrs after surge was detected in urine).

OMG this sounds exactly like this cycle for me!!! I had a nearly + opk on CD 13 and then nothing on CD 14. I was so sure with my abundant cervical fluid, high soft cervix and nearly + opk that I had surged and missed it. I had only tested in the am the day before so I was certain that had I tested that eveing on CD13 I would have seen a +. Well, fast forward to CD 25 and I start to get a ton of cm again...plus my opk is getting darker again. I thought I was pregnant for sure but the HPT's were all negative. CD 26 the opk gets darker again and by the am on CD 27, it's blaring +++ and stays that way for 10 hrs! So I O'd really late. I'm also taking vitex but had stopped around CD13 thinking I was O'ing. I guess it was a fake surge. I'm also nursing so I'm sure it has something to do with it. Anyway, just wanted to tell you that it may not be O yet so keep up with the BDing and keep using the opk's!

I must admit that i have also had this problem before a few cycles back... That cycle actually went for 37 days!!!!! I got a darker line the day before i was meant to o and then nothing.... Then like a week later i o'ed i think it may of been due to stress tho.. Anyway yes keep an eye on it ( as you will anyway ) and yes keep bding!

Yes fingers crossed you do!! I think i have stuffed my chances up this month to concieve.. I have been using aci jel pretty much every four hrs and i didnt realise that this will kill the sperm . what a silly thing i have done i may as well count this month out plus i had a 2.5 day cut off so i would of killed the sperm for sure! DAMN IT!!!

Oh, I'm sorry, pinkin - that's so frustrating. This swaying stuff can get so confusing it's easy to make a mistake like that. U remember the first time I swayed, with ds3, I was douching with lime without checking the PH of it first, and of course was killing all the sperm. The second month I dropped the douching and of course got pregnant right away.

Ok, I did a opk today as I am starting to get a few spots but this is earlier than I normally ovulate and I got a very faint line. My problem is dh is away from Friday so now I don't know what to do, whether to dtd today and hope I ovulate by Friday. The problem with this is it might be a false surge. What do you think!!!!

Mochagirl
June 22nd, 2011, 08:51 AM
Personally, I'd dtd just in case. DH and I have been dtd steadily every day since Friday night, and will continue to do so until I can confirm O. I know dtd can raise testoterone, but the most important part is that he continue to release daily somehow - might as well have some fun out of it, then you won't worry if O comes early. I'd hate to see you miss O and have to wait another cycle for your attempt! Just my 2 cents.

Mochagirl
June 22nd, 2011, 12:45 PM
I'm so excited. I just used a digital OPK and I got a +!!!! So, it looks like Vitex made my O at least 2 days late, as others have experienced. Now I have to decide whether we should dtd tonight. We've been dtd every night since Friday. If last night was my last one, it would be a 2 day cut off, but if we dtd tonight, it will be a 1-day cut off (well, less than that probably since I normally O less than 24 hours after having a + test). I think maybe I'll go for it. The timing is perfect because my Mom's coming to town tomorrow, so now we don't have to worry about sneaking around to dtd while she's here.

Now...another question. What should I do about Rephresh? I last applied it on Sunday mid-day, so I'm due to apply it again today...but I don't want to kill all the spermies if we dtd tonight. Should I maybe just apply a little instead of a full applicator, or should I just use Sylk and not worry about Rephresh?

swish
June 22nd, 2011, 01:21 PM
Yeah!!!!! Definately dtd tonight and I would not use rephresh again if I were you. Maybe take zyrtec if you have ewcm, gl!!!!!

Mochagirl
June 22nd, 2011, 01:30 PM
Too late - I just used some rephresh! I remembered I had asked atomic about timing the applications, and she said using it the day before O is ideal, especially if I haven't used it in 3 days...although now I'm worried she meant the day before the attempt.

It was the last post in this thread:
http://genderdreaming.com/forum/showthread.php?3987-Any-suggestions-%28warning-LONG-post!%29/page2

I only used 1/4-1/2 of the tube, and we won't be dtd for another 10 hours, so hopefully it won't kill all the sperm. :nails:

I did a opk today and there was no line so I think it was a false surge, I'll test again later....
