View Full Version : Please help! My attempt was last night but today I have another positive OPK!

Hi everyone,

I knew this would have to happen on the month of my attempt!

I am swaying girl using one attempt at positive OPK. I used Clearblue digital OPK's as well as regular OPK's last month which was a test cycle. I had one day of positive regular OPK's which was backed up by a positive smiley face digital. This lasted one day only and the next day both were negative.

Yesterday I tested at 4pm with both regular and digital OPK and got a negative. But because the regular one was almost a positive I decided to test again at 8pm. I used only the digital at 8pm and received a smiley face so we dtd last night.

Sooo, today I thought I would test again to make sure at 2pm, and low and behold, another smiley face and a dark positive on my regular OPK!!!! Now I didn't test with a regular OPK at 8pm last night so don't know if it was a strong positive then, but it is most certainly positive today along with the second smiley face. I'm so confused now! I thought I had a great attempt.

Please tell me what you think - should I leave it now or should I bd again tonight?

The best pink results are coming from one attempt at + opk, which is exactly what you did. Opks can stay positive for a few days. So unless you are under pressure to just conceive, my advice would be to leave it at the one attempt. Its your call of course :)

Thanks ladies - this is what I was thinking but its hard not to panic! I'm going to stick with my one attempt :) x

That actually happenned to me but I was 2 days out so did another attempt. I don't know if my sway worked si no idea if I did the right thing. I also say wait and see.

One attempt at first +opk and then stop testing! Only the first one counts :)

I thought u r meant to stop having sex 24hrs before you expect to see a positive OPK to conceive a girl. So lucky u did stop. The closer to ovulation the more likely you r to have a boy. Also I thought u had to have sex everyday up to the day when u stop because reduced sperm count helps with girl conception.
Are u following a different method here. Please let me know what it is.

I thought u r meant to stop having sex 24hrs before you expect to see a positive OPK to conceive a girl. So lucky u did stop. The closer to ovulation the more likely you r to have a boy. Most of us are having one attempt at positive OPK, some use frequency like having husband abstain or release a lot beforehand, while others aren't. Lots of us got girls doing this after having 2,3,4 or more boys from Shettles cutoffs. timing does not sway.
