Random questions re: Crystal Light, EWCM, and Cut off

Hi, I'm 2 DPO now and am trying to kill some time in the 2WW, trying not to freak myself out about my mediocre sway, worst being the turbo sway diet.

I just noticed this after the fact. I'm a bit worried about the Crystal Light flavor I chose (fruit punch and iced lemon tea) lowering my pH because the first ingredient listed was citric acid. Isn't it similar to lemon juice which raises the body's pH? I did not test my pH. They both had aspartame in it though.

Also, I noticed that many girl moms say they have creamy or little CM during BD around O time. I tried to get rid of my CM using a generic antihistamine containing cetirizine but it did not dry it up much. Mostly made me feel drowsy. At best, it was more on the watery side but there were still a little EW too if you kwim? Wondering if the chance of having a girl is possible with a little EWCM?

Also, a very rookie question if anyone can answer. I got my +OPK on Saturday AM and DTD with a compressed FR using 2nd batch that same night. Would that make my cut off about 2 days?

I'm a rookie too, so take my input for what it's worth, but:

I would think aspartame trumps any particular flavor of CL. You just were consuming a packet of artificial powder, not natural lemon juice (IF that's even a concern). No worries!

Atomic JUST assured me today that opposites happen all the time regarding CM (people that don't have it end up with boys, and people who do have girls) and you HAVE to have some to even fall pregnant...so, no worries!

I think O is typically said to happen (?)-48 hours after the first +opk (but people can get multiple +opks, it's just after the first one)...so depending on if your +opk was detecting the beginning/middle/end of surge, it's really impossible to predict just from that info what the official cut-off would be, but it does sound PERFECT timing for fertile window and the one attempt that has gotten great results and it would seem that timing really doesn't sway much anyway...soooo....no worries! :)

2bnaday, thanks so much for your response. I hope it's true that aspartame trumps the citric acid re: keeping pH low! I also took baby aspirin as well.

So glad to hear that it's very possible to have a girl with some EWCM.

The +OPK was most probably at the beginning since I checked with plain ovulation sticks too for the fade-in pattern. We actually BD twice though, the first time being two days before the +OPK with compressed FR.

This is our 3rd cycle ttc and hoping this is our month as I've dropped some elements of our sway to get pregnant!

PLEASE don't worry about the flavor of your Crystal Light. That's an IG thing. I swear to you that no one's sway has EVER come down to using the wrong flavor of Crystal Light. If you want to be super particular, yeah they say not to use the tea kind, but I doubt it matters one iota.

I don't want you guys measuring your pH anyway. All it does is feed swaycession and make you nervous about things like Crystal Light flavors that are totally irrelevant, when really it's being obsessed that sways 10 million billion kajillion times more than Crystal Light ever could. I ahve seen so many pH opposites going both ways that I don't even believe in pH any more.

Yes, it is totally possible to get a girl with EWCM. I did! Got my 4th boy with pH of 4.5 and no CM whatsoever. Teh antihistamine may make changes in your CM that are not visible to the naked eye.

You will ovulate about 36 hours after your first positive test, so I would say you did not have a cutoff at all.

Thank you for your assurance Atomic! The 2WW gets me thinking "what-if" too much. I think I was a little more relaxed before O day, lol.

Wow, so I didn't do a cut off... :( My Hurry Up compressed FR wasn't that compressed either. Yikes! (How quickly does sperm fully replenish - 24 hours?) Well, what's done is done. At least I tried to sway some with diet and supplements. I guess I don't understand how to calculate cut-off. Does it mean the number of days from BD to a +OPK or from BD to expected O day? Sorry, I think I'm a bit confused. Anyone??

Thanks for sharing ladies. I guess having EWCM or not is only one factor in swaying this way or not when all other factors are considered. I'll keep my hopes up.

I'd use the EWCM if I was you. I Never get it or much of it even when conceived DS but on my 1st round of Clomid I had it Big time only I didn't know exactally what to do and Held back from DTD cause I didn't have positive opk and was planning 1 attempt for Pink sway and cause I wanted to know when we conceived cause I didn't want to pushed toward induction again. Now Im thinking I Should have cause eventhough I got positive opk following afternoon and it was Negative that morning and we DTD that Mornign that Night and next day! I'm sitting her in a river of tears cause I'm bleeding. So didn't take guess we missed it!

Oh and they cancelled Clomid on me due to seeing lines from light after taking it at night and I don't know that I will Ovulate of of it!

oh whoops I only saw your post below and not this one.

A cutoff means the number of days before O that you have your last attempt (or only attempt for most people.) So if you have your attempt 2 days before ovulation, that is a 2 day cutoff, if it's 4 days before ovulation, that's a 4 day cutoff. BD at positive OPK is about a 1 day cutoff for most people - they tend to ovulate the next day after the pos OPK.

Also other q - sperm start to replenish immediately - he's always making more all the time. There's never a point where he's not making them. But it's not like a gas tank, he's never "empty" or "full", he can have 20 mil, 100 mil, 400 mil in a single ejaculate and (all of them are normal amounts) and then there will be more living sperm, in the next batch even if it's right away.
