Hi there
There is so much info on the internet about herbal teas - can someone tell me what is safe to drink in the first trimester? Ive heard Roobis is fine but i want to be sure before i start drinking it.
Thanks

It seems like for every site saying something is safe, there's another saying it is dangerous. For that reason, I just don't drink any except the raspberry leaf tea at the end although I am sure many are safe. There just doesn't seem to be many large studies done to be certain. Sorry not much help.

I think that as long as you aren't drinking a huge amount, most things are ok. One cup here or there of anything sold on the shelf of the grocery store is typically fine, 10 cups may not be, so just be sensible and it should be fine.

I wouldn't worry about teas too much. A cup of tea in the morning, one in the evening, infused in a normal concentration (i.e. not medicinal strength) seems like it would be fine. Rooibos is generally considered a healthy tea and I've never heard of adverse side effects. It's even caffeine free. :-)
