I believe after reading the massive amounts of info on this site...there is something, somewhere that shows a correlation with age and gender. Being older sways pink...I think maybe because of the decreasing quality of eggs and decreasing fertility that comes as we age. But I couldn't tell you exactly which essay to find it in. Or if my reasoning was the actual reason for it swaying pink. Lol. Some help I am ;)

If I understood correctly, the less fertile you are, the more likely it is to sway pink. That's why we try to lower fertility when we sway pink and vice versa for blue. Age can decrease fertility. BUT if you are on an obvious boy-diet and lifestyle, I think the odds are still in the blue favor. I hope it's a girl in there for you.

mod exercise + boy friendly diet does = more boys, but exercise + pink friendly diet can sway pink by shrinking muscle mass. FX and pink dust headed your way

FX you get your girl - I had 3 boys at 38, 41 and 43 so sadly age didn't sway pink for me, although I now know I eat a hugely boy friendly diet which might explain it!

My last five have been boys, so Jax was conceived @33 and Blayze was conceived @38. I just got BFP and will be 40 in a few wks. Not counting on it being a girl, but hope there is some truth to this.

I was 37 when I conceived my 3rd dd, my sister was 40 she also had a dd, but my other sis was 44 & she got a ds, so maybe there's more of a chance of conceiving a dd the older you are??

Yes what she said^^^

Totally unscientific but of all the mums I know who have had babies after 37, the majority have had girls. I know many girls born to younger mums and a couple of boys born to older mums but with massively boy friendly factors such as diet or yoga for muscles.

A couple of the older mums with girls had at least 3 boys before and were certainly not trying so I assume they had just the one attempt.

Fingers crossed for you.

My sister in law is 35 & she's having her very first baby & it's a girl. But I think it had a lot to do with the fact that she doesn't eat meat & is very in2 healthy eating & organic. So in my opinion I think her overall way of life is a girl friendly diet. As 4 me i eat a way more boy diet without knowing it. Which I think would explain my 4 sons lol

no matter what, men make 50-50 X and Y sperm! They are made of XY cells that split to make equal numbers of X and Y sperm. Some guys do go onto father more girls or more boys, but it's not because they have more X or more Y. :)

just on the above.. if men always produce 50-50 .. but some guys do go on to father more boys, if they've had 2 or 3 DS's before, are they more likely to have more sons, if for eg. their partners dont sway or change their lifestyles?

or is it always 50-50 where they are concerned? x

I'll be 37 by the time we TTC and my dh 45. Hoping we sway pink this time! I had my first son at 23... the second at 33, third at 35. So far age hasn't helped me go pink any but hoping I hit that magic number soon.

We have evidence that indicates that for reasons we do not know, even tho men make 50-50, sometimes in some guys those 50-50 X and Y sperm go onto produce different ratios of gender. But I've seen tons of couples shell out big bucks to have "his sperm tested" and it's 50-50 every time, and then also I have seen people get boys with 92% X sperm after Microsoft sorts, so I do NOT think it's a numbers game on why couples conceive one of a particular gender.

My husband gave me 4 sons over 20 years and was still able to shoot me out a very nice X in the end! :) It can happen for you.
