just curious, for those of you with all boys, what had your periods been like? long, short cycles? heavy, medium, light flows, typical length of AF? regularly consistent cycles? had you noticed any patterns if you were ever paying attention?
any of you guys avid athletes?

Hi

I have 3 boys too and always had very regular 28 day cycles with 'normal' periods and ovulation on day 14. Very average!!

About several months before DS1 AF was 4-5days long. D1 was mild, D2 was very very omg heavy, D3 was normally very light, and D4-D5 was just spotting. AF came every 24 days.

DS1 stopped nursing from 9-11mths, AF since 9mths, but when he was 13mths it got really bad... During a 5hr drive to NV I started to bleed enough to fill a pad every 20-30mins. Had to stop at gas station bathrooms a lot and the side of the road. OB/GYN Dr thought I was preg and m/c causing the Mirena IUD to fall out unnoticed. I bled very heavy for 4 days and then it stopped just like that. 24 days later AF returned like normal and was just like during the time DS1 was conceived.

This time around AF comes every 28th day... odd for me hope a good sign for a girl sway. When I still living in my moms house and on the "girl sway friendly" foods she made us eat AF came every 28 days.

I have very standard predictable 28 day cycles, with O on 14 or 15. Very heavy periods, horrible cramps all my life. I have 2 ds s.

I also have 3 boys and very average 28 day cycle, O on cd14 and regular 3-4 day flow (maybe a bit heavier since DS3) but I used to be able to get by wearing panty liners before I had kids.

Three boys - twins, and then a single. Cycles fairly regular, but slightly short of 28 days (for the twins, as I wasn't on birth control). For the single, was on birth control, but missed the first few days after the placebo week and had an "oops" - he was conceived on CD11, not 14! For twins, I wasn't really exercising (was living in SE Asia and it was not that fun to run there:-) For singleton, was training for a half marathon and running 4-5 hours a week. But both pregnancies were really boy-friendly diets, and for me, I think that was the biggest contributing factor to having boys.

Of course, I never really tracked my cycles and never really knew when I was ovulating. Much more aware now, thanks to this forum!!

Got 2 boys...My cycles have never been normal...in fact it was common that I'd only get AF about 8 times per yr. I never knew when it was coming. Sometimes it would be a breeze but other times I'd be doubled over in pain. The flow was moderate. After the birth of DS#1, it became a bit more regular. For what it's worth, I exercised a TON up until a few yrs before DS#1. I was always quite skinny but put on 15 - 20 extra lbs. just before conceiving DS#1. I was carrying that same weight w/DS#2. It was due to very high stress and loooong hrs at work. I didn't have time to play sports/work out as I'd done before and I ate instead. With work, I was always "on-call". Good luck to you, Gizmo! Sending you any blue dust I have left over!

my cycles have alwyas been irregular so I was using the CBFM to monitor for when OV was going to happen

we conceived in my 2nd full cycle after my MC (so 3 months later), and my cycles were really all over the place! I was bleeding for about the normal time (1-2 days heavy, 2-3 medium, then spotting for 1-2) but the first cycle after I OV'd on CD10 (!!) and the second when I conceived William was CD21 !

however, I had a very boy-friendly diet (accidentally), and we DTD lots - 9 times in the 7 days leading up to OV and the day after including twice on OV day, and I had a big O after each attempt.

Super duper regular and 28 days on the button once I left my teenage years (they were heavier and less regular then). On the light side, about 2 days of real bleeding with a day or two of spotting afterwards and occasionally a day of spotting before.

One time I lost about 30 pounds over about 6 months and my period stayed regular until I went from exercising 60 minutes a day to exercising 90 minutes a day, even though my BMI was still in the "normal" range. It then got a lot lighter for a couple cycles and one month barely came. I wish I had been TTC then!!! As soon as I reduced my exercise level due to injury, it came back just like it never left.
