Though we had a scan at 15w that looked girly, it was early so we didn't announce it until we could confirm. We had our anatomy scan this week and it was quite clear that we are prayerfully expecting a baby girl. I feel so deeply blessed, and grateful that the baby is healthy. Everyone is excited, of course, but after seeing so many wonderful mamas experience GD and myself desiring so much to have a girl, I feel oddly guilty and when people say they are so happy for me to have 'my' girl, I feel defensive of the idea of all boys and tell them I would have been very happy with a boy, and that all boys (or all girls) would be very special for any family. Because it would be. It wasn't until I discovered we have a girl that I realized I would have been OK with a boy. Boys are who I know and love. Part of me will really miss snuggling another sweet baby boy, and I truly hope I will be able to have such a strong bond with our daughter. Anyway...just another perspective. But we are very excited for to become a family of five. :)
It seems most of my March friends are having girls in 2014. It will be interesting how it plays out here. I know last year all my March EDD friends had boys.
Good luck to everyone still waiting! <3
