So I've been on the boy diet for about 2-3 months total so far. My CM ph was around a 7 around ovulation. But for this month, my CM ph is around a 5 at ovulation. The few times where I got a result of 7, the CM was hanging (TMI!!) after I had finished peeing. Could it be that I was actually testing a bit of urine mixed in with that CM? I am so upset/frustrated. I've actually been drinking more water with lemon, drinking v8 twice a day, eating fruits, drinking orange juice every morning, eating pasta with meat sauce and potatoes for lunch or dinner. ive also noticed that ive been having less ewcm than usual. I know CM ph is not important here in the GD forums but any advice would be appreciated :)

I stopped testing my ph after the 90th time it was a 5, it never changed no matter what I did. I never really had a lot of CM or EWCM so I took my mucinex and used preseed everytime I DTD and I got a boy, I wouldn't worry about your ph, just focus on the diet and you should be fine

I got my 4th boy with a pH of 4.5 testing 2-3 times a day and it never changed and I didn't even know i ovulated because I saw no visible change in pH or any CM that month.
When you test pH, you're not supposed to test the stuff on the outside of your body because the low vaginal pH can cause the pH of the CM to drop. You're meant to get it right from your cervix. If you're getting a pH of 7 with hanging CM that is GOOD. Don't even worry about that.
Please tell me what else you're taking, some of the stuff that is said to help with pH and CM can actually backfire.

Thank you dloui128 and atomic sagebrush!
I guess I'm frustrated because last month I thought I was doing great when I got a reading of 7 for my CM ph so I thought okay just continue what I'm doing and ill be fine.
Atomic, this month I did check the CM that was on my underwear, I used a qtip to scoop it, I got a reading of 5. Then I actually went and inserted my finger and scooped some CM from my cervix and tested that, that too was around a 5.
Atomic, this is my menu on a regular basis:
Breakfast: croissant with orange juice (the croissant has 6g of protein)
Snack: banana
Lunch: either pasta with red sauce and meat or rice with chicken(or meat)
V8 juice original (8oz)
Snack: an apple or peach and some raisins
Dinner: whatever that was leftover from lunch and some baked potatoes
Snack: banana
V8 juice original (8oz)
Throughout out the day I drink about a liter of lemon water
3x a day from AF-O baking soda drink
Supplements I take everyday:
Folic acid: 2,400mcg
Potassium supplement: 99mg
I am trying to eat every 2-3 hours

for your breakfast I would try to get in a little more protein than 6g's, try adding some eggs, nuts, or greek yogurt with your croissant.
For your snacks you aren;t eating any protein, it looks just like your having fruit which is great but you should have some protein with it. I don't think you need to take the potassium supplement, you are eating enough foods containing potassium in them and you don't want to over due it on the potassium. To get more CM try adding in some pineapple juice, and or take mucinex 5 days leading up to ovulation. I took the mucinex and used preseed, and it seemed to help.

Thank you dloui128!
I was eating roasted salted almonds but then I freaked out when I saw that it contained a good amount of calcium and magnesium. How about if I eat a spoon of peanut butter along with my snacks? I'm not sure if it is an alkaline food? I think I'm so caught up in this "alkaline=boys" because I was very acidic, eating acidic foods and drinks when I conceived my daughter (I didn't know about swaying at the time) and now I want to make sure I eat everything or mostly everything alkaline foods, otherwise, I will have this big feeling of regret of not sticking to the only alkaline foods, if I have another girl. I feel so bad even thinking that, but sadly it's the truth. I love my daughter with all my heart and I'm sure if I have another girl, I will love her as well but I'm really hoping for a boy to complete our family.

I know it is hard to forget things that you truly believe sways, and thats ok, if your gut tells you to go with something then that is what you should do so you have no regrets later. Peanut butter is fine, just as long as it is some sort of protein

The stuff on your undies doesn't count. Honestly, I'm not sure how accurate pH testing ever is unless you're literally dripping with CM, because you have to reach in and out of the VJ and it could potentially make pH drop to do that anyway.
wEre you doing the baking soda drink when you had the higher pH?? I am not a super huge fan of BSD, I don't think it works for pH and can mess up your electrolyte levels. I'd try replacing the BSD with grapefruit juice, more lemon water, or else V8 and see if that helps.
I completely agree with dloui - you need more QUALITY protein at breakfast. 6 g of protein from a crossaint is not good enough. It's not a complete protein and I would have you eat more like 12-20 g at breakfast. I would have you add a couple eggs to that. And you do need some protein wtih your snacks - good protein, not the kind that's in grains. Those aren't complete proteins and your body can't use them as effectively as the stuff in meats, eggs, and dairy.

But at the same time how will you feel if you do all those things and get another girl?? Either way it's not going to feel good. You have to follow your heart and be able to live with your decisions, we just want you to have the best info at your disposal and decide based on that.
I ate 1/2 cup of either walnuts or almonds, or else 4 oz. cheese every day for breakfast for years before I got my last two boys. I understand it's hard to let go of some of this stuff, we just want you to be in with a really good chance.
The acid/alkaline diet stuff doesn't work and you can read why here Acid/Alkaline Theory of Disease Is Nonsense (http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/DSH/coral2.html) In the interest of full disclosure tho I do want you to know that peanut butter is considered acidic. I ate it ALL the time when I got my boys and not at all when I got my girl. Like a jar a week. I currently have 4 types of peanut butter in my cupboard. I think it will only help your sway, but it is "acidic".

Thanks dloui128 and atomic!
Atomic, I was drinking the BS drink. I drink it from AF-O. I was very curious so I decided to test my urine ph and my CM ph (I had hanging CM again after peeing) and the two strips were almost identical in color. So I am thinking urine touches the hanging CM. If i have another girl, I know that I will love her no matter what but I think if I do what my gut tells me I won't regret anything looking back saying oh I wish I had done this or I wish I had eaten that etc etc. even if I do end up having a girl. DH doesn't want that many kids so I'm hoping and praying that we get our boy this time. Please send me your blue dust ladies!!
About the protein, why is it important? Is it meant to help with swaying blue or is it just for overall health?

Sending more blue dust than you know what to do with!!!
The protein is important for several reasons:
1)animal studies have shown that animals fed more protein had way more sons than animals fed more carbs did
2)protein helps raise testosterone and evidence indicates higher maternal testosterone may sway blue
3)eating protein and carbs together, helps raise your blood sugar and keep it up for a long time after eating, and there is a theory that more sugar in your blood for longer may sway blue. The thinking is that the sugar in your blood goes into your CM and researchers have shows that XY fertilized eggs develop better in higher sugar environment. This is the only proven part of swaying - that XY develop better in higher sugar...researchers have actually seen this happen in the lab.

Thank you so much atomic!
Just for reference, I want to attach the picture of my cm ph and urine ph.
They are almost identical, the urine ph is on the left and the cm ph is on the right.

That's kinda to be expected though. If you are eating alkaline foods then your urine will be alkaline, and CM at ovulation can also be alkaline.
