Hi there,

My husband and I have decided to try for a baby next month.
I am really confused and not sure whether to abstain or fr.

I'm 30 and my husband is 37, and I read it was not recommended for guys over 35 to abstain.
But our problem is that he works long hrs and coming home very late. That means FR would be pretty stressful and it just wouldn't work for us.

What would be the best option for us? if we decide to go with abstaining, is that from when my period starts until 3-4 days before ovulation? Only one attempt and use that first attempt for isnemination?

Thank you so much, really appreciate your help!

given your age and circumstances, perhaps CFR is going to be easiest (releasing and discarding on OV day, then attempting within 6hrs)

CFR (compressed frequent release) - have DH release 2-3 times a day for 2-3 days in a row prior to attempt and on day of attempt, he should release once in the morning and then have your attempt that evening, but it can be 12 hours or more later

Hurry Up FR - Have DH release once, dump it, then DTD again as quickly as is possible using only the second batch for insemination, within 3 hours is best but not longer than 6 hours.

Personally, I would just have him release every 2-4 days and then go for one attempt. Frequency is not working for people and I'm doing an essay on it right now. One attempt is getting great results regardless of frequency (even peopel who did boy-friendly frequency got 75% girls with one attempt), and it's way easier to get pg with one attempt, if you drop frequency.
