Hi there,

I just found out today I've got UTI and have to take antibiotics for a week.

After finishing antibiotics need to wait for a week and do another urin test.

We were planning to ttc in Nov but now I'm not sure if we should? I'll wait for another urin test but not sure even if the results are good...

Do you suggest waiting until Dec or give it a try if everything is good? It's bacterial infection and I'm not sure how long does it take to clear up.

Also, do you know any home remedies to treat uti?

Thank you!!

Antibiotics are said to sway blue but I am not sure if there is much evidence to support this. By the time you are ready to ttc, they should be out of your system so you should ttc if you can. If you need the antibiotic take it. Trying home remedies are ok, but most times a true UTI will need an antibiotic to kill the bacteria not just cranberry supplements to treat the uti. If you don't treat it properly, the infection could move to your kidneys or you could become septic and very ill. I don't play around and try to home treat my utis because there is a lot that can happen to your body if you don't take a uti seriously.

I agree with you re uti and antibiotics. Started taking them immediately Nd hopefully won't need more than one course. Have 3 weeks until ttc so hopefully I'll get better by then! ;)

It's fine, I personally don't think antibiotics even sway by much (if they even do) and so as long as you have some antihistamine on hand to dry up CM if you get any, I would still TTC.

I think the best remedy for UTI is garlic and drinking water to flush it out

Thanks! ;) Do you think we still Should ttc even though my diet in the last week or so consisted of lots of fruits, vegetables, meat, vit c, garlic, etc...in addition to uti I had cold and wanted to get better as faster as I could so I didn't follow my le diet. I actually didn't eat much, but had red meat, vit c, oranges plus other fruits, also didn't skip bfast every day. Shall we wait?? Thank you!!

That's a decision that only you can make really - if you will have huge regrets if you TTC and get an opposite, then of course best to wait. But if you're in your late 30's to early 40's or have taken Clomid or have lost way too much wieght, you shouldn't skip months for any reason.

I know...thanks! I lost weight and now am on 48. Can't lose more but can be on this weight with no problems.

My diet wasn't really girl diet in te last week! Lots of snacking, bfast, etc. will probably wait for one more moth and try to be more strict with the diet.

i personally do not think abstain is best for guys over 35. It's as always your call to make but here is info about why I don't recommend that http://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-conceive-girl/8801-articles-studies-about-why-abstain-not-good-males-over-35-a.html
