Hi,

I'm a newbie and I guess you've read a tonne of posts like the one I'm writing, but I just would love some feedback/reassurance that my attempt is enough! I have a son and have always pictured my family with a pigeon pair (although another boy would be just as blissful).

I've just started the LE Diet, and will not be attempting until April 2014, will be on holiday so I'm tipping I'll be relaxed!

My sway plan:
LE Diet (No breakfast, No meat, 1 coffee a day)
Aspartame sweetener in all drinks
DH abstain for 7 days
1 Attempt O-2
Rephresh the day before attempt
Sylk for lube during attempt

I'm not big into Ions and Moon cycles.

What do you all think?

welcome!

I think that's a bit strong - an O-2 attempt following abstain AND with pH-lowering gels seems like it might kill off too many sperm to get you pregnant

are your cycles always regular to the day? (note, this might change when you do a swaying diet and OV date may change)

if doing abstain with all that, I'd personally aim to DTD at ovulation (or positive OPK) since we know that timing doesn't sway gender-wise but timing does change your chance of conceiving at all

you could also consider exercise, cinnamon tablets (to lower blood glucose), fibre supps (to mean your body absorbs less nutrients), and supps that lower pH such as baby aspirin

personally I don't think you need to start diet just yet, hoping you have a bit of weight to spare, if you don't, be sure to eat in the max. limits

I prefer keeping aspartame to 2-3 servings a day and no more

I agree with rainbow, that does seem a bit much esp. with the cutoff BUT it's your call to make on that - if you won't be able to live with yourself unless you try everythign, then set yourself a time limit of 1-3 months and then if BFN cheerfully begin dropping stuff!!

I'm a petite person only weighing 46kg but I naturally eat a very boy friendly diet, so I'm just gradually getting myself used to the girl diet, then I'll get really strict with it starting in February.

Yes I'm only really having 2 or three cups of tea & coffee a day with 1 sweetener tablet.

My cycles are clockwork and I get ov pains, but the other reason for me starting the 'sway' so early is to see if ov does actually change time.

Sorry for my ignorance but is baby aspirin?

low dose aspirin, 70-80 mg taken 2-5 times a week. May help sway pink

From someone who has been on the diet most of the past 2 years and 16 weeks strictly recently with no bfp I would say dont start too soon. You can still veer towards LE by dropping some big no no's like red meat and cereal but I wouldnt be too strict too soon, if it takes longer to conceive than planned (and I used to be the most fertile myrtle going) then it will become really tough, you may run out of weight to lose etc. Good luck x

Thanks Jennibell, what you've said just hit home to me how hardcore this must get after a few attempts. I'm so sorry for how hard you have had it. What part of swaying do you feel affects conception most? I want to semi-sway now 'just incase'.... Accidents happen and I'd hate to think I didnt at least slightly try for a little pink. But I don't think I'm up for a two year haul.

I think doing the diet hard and the exercise hard together affect fertility the most.. especially if they result in fast and significant weight loss. Whilst lowered fertility can sway pink you don't want to be unable to conceive at all as then you can't have a DD

You can start off just going vegetarian and see how it goes.

Good idea Atomic, I think I will do that until 6 weeks before first attempt. Do you think no meat or low calorie makes more difference? This confuses me a bit...

We do not have the data to say and it is probably different for every individual anyway. If you don't have the weight to spare it's better to not go low cal till the last minute
