I know this may be a dumb question, but dh and I are leaving for 4 days with his family this Thanksgiving and I know for a fact I w't be able to do LE in front of his family...most likely go out to eat every day for those four days (well except thThanksgiving day). I just want to put my mind at ease. Have been doing LE for 6 months and my first Clomid attempt is in December. TIA

I think you should be fine. LE allows cheats and I don't think four possible days of cheating will hurt too much. Can you still get away with replacing breakfast with like toast or a bagel and some coffee/tea and just go light with the other meals? Maybe tell them you are getting over a stomach bug and things don't taste right and you aren't too hungry yet allowing your four days to be cut down to 2-3? :)

I'm getting nervous too. I've told my family that I am avoiding meat but my DH's family will get very suspicious if I tell them anything. I've told my DH to distract his family as much as possible when it come time to eating and getting food. Maybe then they won't notice how little is on my plate and the fact that there isn't any meat!

Sickness is a good foil for the LE...and visa versa!!! Use it to your advantage, plus, you have been on the diet for 6 months...a little cheat of meat on the big day is not a bad idea. The thing is that people tend to focus on their own plate and no one else's during the meal, so if you have what appears to be "enough"....all will be good and you will be ready for that Dec. attempt...best of luck!!!!!!

My friends are starting to notice my eating habits and I told them that I'm trying to do different things to see what are bringing my headaches on. I couldn't think of anything else to say since my friends and I are soo close. I did tell them months ago DH and I were thinking about ttc a girl. My Mom lives 850 miles away and she told me today she can tell I've lost too much weight. My older children asked why I've been looking at labels and eating different. I guess people pay more attention then what I thought lol Thanksgiving isn't going to be any fun but oh well. My first attempt for trying should be this coming weekend.

I've actually done this. I did a total elimination diet for DS and found a lot of foods that triggered my migraines. Now I get to use this as an excuse! :D lol

Well first of all I do want to state that as a general rule, i do not want ANYONE doing the LE Diet for 6 months before even starting to TTC. It's totally unneccesary to do that, the only exception would be someone who has like 75-100 lbs to lose beforehand.

Now that that's out of the way, does it make any sense to you that after having done a diet for 6 months, that 4 days could just up and undo that? Of course not, it makes no sense at all. If it was that easy we would just do diet for 4 days before ovulation and sway that way. It is the overall diet that matters and not any one or two or even 3-4 days here and there. When you go out, I'd order something vegetarian and then eat meat when it's unavoidable. Your body probably desperately needs some cheats at this point anyway.
