Hello!
So this month is our first attempt since my 2nd miscarriage in August 2013. I am a little anxious to begin with and my cycle has been a bit whacky the last month or so. So I started with the Clearblue Advanced OPK this past Saturday (11/16) and got a blinking smiley - which I thought was odd b/c LMP was 11/10 and normally I O like clockwork on CD 14-15 but I kept testing and got my 1st solid smiley last night at approximately 6:30 pm. Luckily DH was persistent and a bit of a hornball - we BD Sunday afternoon and yesterday morning - I was trying to get him to abstain until Wednesday (11/20). So this AM, my temp dipped big time so I am expecting to O within the next 24 hours. My questions are:
1.) Roughly how long after you get the 1st solid smile do you generally O? I don't need specifics, just looking for an estimate/best guess.
2.) Was I even in girl territory being that we BD yesterday morning?
3.) I was thinking about making one last attempt - how long should we wait to make that last attempt? Is tomorrow morning too soon?
I SO very much appreciate any advice PRETTY PLEASE!!

One more thing - any clue as to why I would O so early? Can vitex do that?

If you usually have regular cycles and this past one was a bit wonky...then yes it was probably the supps. But IMO it's a good thing.
You will generally O 8-48 hours after first +OPK. We are getting best results with one attempt at +OPK. Think you're good there.

Hi Anchor -thanks for the input! I'm sorry I am a bit confused...do you think I am good to make one more attempt tomorrow AM? Or just see what happens?

Well the best results have been ONE attempt at +OPK. I would count your attempt yesterday morning as the ONE. You will probably O sometime today. If you add another attempt however, you will increase your chances of conception

Does that make it more likely for a boy? I am trying not to get too hung up on the timing thing. But I am just not sure what to do - I am so anxious about all of this now lol. I got the + OPK last night at like 6-6:30pm. I have been using aci-jel like crazy but my pH just seems like it is stuck @ around 5. I have been taking the supps and the LE diet but now I am just questioning everything lol!!

1)8-48 hours, 36 is average
2)There is no girl territory, timing doesn't sway.
3)We have had best results with one attempt, so I would stick with that.

Please look up "the trouble with timing" essay, it will explain why timing does not sway (sorry on kindle and can't post link)
re pH, pH of 5 is considered in the good range for those people who believe in pH. it doesn't matter aht your pH is that far after intercourse anyway.

Thanks ladies! One attempt it is! My pH is around 5 all the time - after intercourse it will go a little higher but then comes back to around a 5 again. I have been treated for BV b/c doc says that common after D&Cs and now there are no symptoms but still stuck at a 5. So it's ok to be around a 5?????? You just took a HUGE weight off my shoulders!! I think I was so stuck on that b/c everyone on IG kept saying has to be 4.5 or below!

Thank you! The 2 WW begins - trying to distract myself and not make myself crazy! I am NOT going to test until 12/5 but feel certain that I may know that I am prior to that based on my experiences/symptoms in past pregnancies. I know every one is different but for me, I have had similar symptoms every time (2 full term, 2 m/c). Will keep you all updated!! Fingers crossed and pink dust to everyone who is trying and/or waiting!! And thank you again ladies for your input - it seems I was so stressed about something pretty trivial!!

They have no idea what they are talking about. Studies have shown that with pH below 6, there are no motile sperm in the repro tract - no X, no Y. Low pH kills sperm, that's why both EWCM and semen have pH in the 7's. The reason why they can get pg with pH that is allegedly that low is because semen doesn't mix very well with water and it creates a bit of a buffer that protects some of the sperm from the low pH, until it makes it into the EWCM and beyond, where all pH is higher than that of the vagina
