Hi has anyone read this i read it the other day and as far as i can make out i might be wrong as i found it confusing but i think it confirms in their studies that one attempt at positive opk ups the odds of having a girl if you dtd the day before ovuation once! X

Timing doesn't sway. I think I know what study you are talking about and I think it's a quirk of statistics and doesn't mean that O-1 is a "pink" day.
The reason for this quirk is twofold, firstly people who are in a state of lowered fertility (either male or female factor) may only be able to get pregnant just before ovulation, and people with lowered fertility have more girls. Secondly, the one attempt seems to be swaying no matter what day you have sex on, but O-1 is the easiest day to get pregnant with just one attempt, so it's a confluence of one attempt + best odds of getting pg with one attempt - the people who had one attempt on O-2 and 3 were probably unable to get pg doing that. Makes it look like a pink friendly day when really, it's just a day like any other with about 50-50 odds of boy or girl.

that study is from 1997 so take iwth a grain of salt. just going over it quickly i can already see a few things mentioned that are debunked. i believe mucus penetrability to be more boy-friendly overall.
