Hi all, wondering if night shift has an effect on swaying. I was doing 6 night shifts/ month when I got pregnant with DD, now I'm doing anywhere from 5-12 night shifts/ month. I'm worried my body will think that the lack of sleep means times aren't good- I'm hoping to sway blue.

Hi i'm a shift worker too and I have 3 girls. I wonder if it was the shift work that swayed pink!

I have been a night shifter on and off through the years. I love the night shift but their is no question it takes a toll on our bodies. When I was night shift in 2005 I got DD2...I am sure it contributes to the gender but their have got to be ways to counter its effect.

4 of us shift workers were pregnant at the same time and 3 of us had girls and only 1 had boy then the following year there was 1 girl and 2 boys so who knows.

I think night shift can sway pink because for some people it's really disruptive to sleep and fertility. Others can just shake it off - it affects different people differently but as a general rule, night shift = more daughters.

I'm a nurse and have worked 12hr days and nights for several years and always have worked more nights than days. I hate nights but definitely hard to avoid them being a nurse. I have never been able to just shake them off and tend to feel 'hung over' , like my head is heavy and cloudy, for a couple days after a stretch... anyways, I have 2 beautiful boys so you definitely still have a good chance. Good to know though that if and when I TTC again that my work and it's crappy shifts might sway pink even if just a little bit :o

That's the thing isn't it...I'm a nurse too and it's just unavoidable to do nights without going into community or day surgery! I'm glad some repliers have gotten boys working them though, even it out a little :)
