Hi Girls,

I've been struggling to get enough potassium each day on the LE diet and was advised by Atomic that drinking coconut water would help me get more potassium.
The taste Nirvana coconut water that they drink in the US isn't available in the Uk and you can only buy it on Amazon, but it's ridiculous prices!!.
I've tried the health shops here, but they all have added vitamins.
Are any of you Uk ladies drinking it and if so, which one?.
Also I've tried to get fibre supplements with Metamucil or chitosan, but again they don't sell them in the health shops (only the big tubs for £35!!) does anyone know where I can get smaller jars?.
Thanks xxx

any brand of coco water is fine, hopefully someone knows of one that doesn't have added vitamins in it. Teh only reason I recommend Taste Nirvana is that some of the other brands are HORRIBLE tasting and I worried that people would take one sip and never try it again LOL! No need to buy off Amazon at those prices, any kind is ok.

Hope you can find a fiber that will work for you, inulin is also ok instead of Metamucil/chitosan

I bought Vita Coco - several places do it but I got mine from Waitrose in the chiller cabinet. Have seen a fair few supermarkets do it, as well as health food stores. They also do a coconut and orange, coconut and pineapple (neither of which I've tried), and coconut, peach and mango varieties. Nothing added, but has around 50% RDA of vitamin C in it if you're ok with that. I'd imagine that's from the coconut itself and you won't be drinking litres of it so should be fine.

ocado and vita coco both fine!!! It's fine to get SOME nutrients via foods or coco water, this is meant to be LOW nutrient, not NO nutrient! :)

I have simply given up on finding fiber supplements... Is psyllium ok?
Sorry for "crashing" your thread - hope it's ok :o)
A trick for hiding the taste of coconut water in case you don't like the taste: add it to diet coke ;) I do that

Prepsina, are you in the UK? Health food shops sell chitosan (got mine from Holland and Barrett). I think psyllium should be ok.

THANKS for taking the time to answer directly.
No, I'm from Northern Europe, and we have a much more limited choice of...everything to do with food ;)
