As you can see from my signature my babies are from IVF and should be boys. However, I put only one embryo in and ended up with what looks like fraternal twins (they are probably identical). Please check out my babies and take a guess!! This is baby A.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/29/zu4usu7u.jpg

And this is baby B http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/29/yhaputes.jpg

Yay congrats! Of coarse you know if it were one embryo then it has to be identical twins but if the egg splits late enough like between 9 and 12 days you can get identical twins with their own sac and placenta.
Since all Fraternal twins have their own sac and placenta and only a few identical twins it is very common for people, even medical professionals to say you are having fraternal twins if there are two placentas and sacs. It is wrong and a bit lazy IMO but is actually quite common.
I know of a few people who were told they were having fraternal twins only to find that their babies looked very alike so they had DNA tests done which concluded identical. It can be so very confusing!

That's actually not necessarily the case. It is possible that she not only conceived through IVF, but also conceived naturally in the same cycle. Thus making them fraternal twins. It's a rare occurance, but possible.

I'd would vote they are identical as well. As 123 said, it is certainly not that rare for doctors to "assume" fraternal because of two placentas and two sacs. But some ID twins do not share either and are mistakenly assumed identical.

The pics are too blurry for me to make anything out. Did you do PGD (thus thinking they are boys)?
