View Full Version : Terrified for tomorrow

I'm 16 weeks (maybe 17 depending which ultrasound they use) and have a high risk appt tomorrow. We are asking to see gender and I'm terrified!!!! I'm almost not ready for the news but need it sooner then later. I had a dream Saturday night and it was a boy and I was devastated (I have no track record if dreaming the sex of my babies thought, maybe I was dreaming my fears). The other day shopping with 5 yr old DS and looking at baby clothes he insisted I buy the soft pink sleeper for his sister and insist he knows it's a girl....I asked him what if it's a boy and he said we can take it back -lol. He's not going to be the only heart broken one if it's a boy. I think our families are really all hoping pink too and tomorrow is my nana and aunts bday (my aunt practically raised me!) and I can't help but think what a good bday present it would be but then trying to tell myself nope it's a boy stop getting your hopes up!!!
I am one of four ppl I know due April/may/June that all have two boys ages 3-7 and so far there is one confirmed girl and one confirmed boy.....
This mind game and desire is horrible!!!!!!!! After we failed all our ivf pgd I hope we made the right choice....so scared and doubtful right now....

I was heartbroken when I heard ds3. Felt so down during pregnancy and not bothered. Till he came out onto my chest and I fell deeply in love. He holds an extra special place. Maybe don't find out and accept we can't change things

Thanks all
Well all that anxiety for a stubborn baby. Baby was breech and had legs closed and cord between legs so they weren't comfortable guessing and I didn't want to hear something wrong. Certain angles looked three lines girl then others looked like nub or was it cord? So now we wait a few more weeks

You can skull guess if you want

AWWW!!! Cutie pie!!! Sorry you were not able to find out - that having been said the shy ones often turn out to be girls and I hope this is true for you.

I would guess girl as well, but that is more because the mouth is open and they say baby girls move their mouths more than boys...lol :)

I thinks its a girl only because your little boy has a strong feeling about it, my 2nd dd is always correct with pregnant women, even when I was preggers she was so sure we were having a girl, goodluck!

@3littleladies. Thanks. The week after we
Found out I was pregnant the 5yr old came up to me and was poking my side and said "mommy where is my sister, I want
To hug her"
And hugged me and walked away! Freaked me right now cuz we never told them I was pregnant!!! Trying so hard to not read into
How different things are!!!

You took the words right out of my mouth. My DD3 was shy and would not show herself. Im guessing girl!

Yes, when we found out this one was a boy, there was not really much to see on the potty shot, then in profile view it was obviously a boy!! Fingers crossed for you hun xxx

I am sorry for your heartbreak. Although it doesn't make it hurt any less, I understand your feelings. I have 3 boys (no sways yet) and hoped to at least get one girl. Hoping for a healthy pregnancy for you!

Double blow. Just got a call. Everything was not ok with ultrasound. Baby has a cleft
Lip.
Now I feel beyond cheated by the universe. My second ds already has what they are calling an unidentified genetic syndrome with apraxia and dyspraxia and subglottic stenosis and a few other things.
At least if you are gonna give me a third boy make it good and now he's not good and not perfect and we will have a long road ahead
Of us.
Pretty pissed off at the universe right now

I am so sorry you are going through this. Life can be so unfair. Are they going to be doing further testing? I can't imagine how you must feel. Thinking of you.

I am so, so sorry. Can you have an amnio done? Is it too late to check chromosomes?

I asked my doc about genetic links and need for amino. She said it will depend on what level 2 ultrasound shows
