Hi Ladies,

This will be my third cycle TTC, and I really really want to get pregnant ASAP. Seeking advice on how to maximize my chances at pregnancy while swaying at least a little bit.

I've been on the LE diet for 3 months. My 1st attempt cycle, I tried a lot of sway tactics, got pretty obsessive about it, and was super bummed when I got my period again. For my 2nd attempt cycle, I relaxed my sway and my mindset considerably -- dropped everything but my LE diet and Licorice Root for hubby. We DTD 4-5 days per week from CD 9 until Aunt Flo made another unwelcome visit. :sigh:

This month, DH isn't using LR anymore, and I'm wondering if I should also modify my diet a bit. I've always been vegetarian and naturally thin (5'3", 98-100lbs, 31 yo). Since I'm still breastfeeding a toddler, I know I shouldn't limit my calories too much or lose any weight. My LE diet has consisted of lots of low-nutrient carbs (pasta, rice, sweets), light yogurt, hummus, processed food and earth balance buttery spread; 2-3 servings of aspartame a day, and no food before noon -- basically I'm eating like a broke college kid. I just worry that maybe I'm not getting enough nutrition for my body to want to get pregnant. Should I add in a prenatal multivitamin? Can I re-introduce the healthy fats I've been avoiding these past 3 months (avocados, nuts, seeds...)? I feel like my "default" healthy eating habits all sway boy, but if I can't get pregnant without the healthy foods, then I have NO chance at a DD.

Since the research here points to diet being the most successful sway tactic, I don't want to drop it altogether -- I've already dropped timing, frequency, Represh, hot showers, ions, everything else, really. Just looking for a way to sway AND get pregnant. With my son (wasn't swaying), I got pg the very first month we tried, so I guess I thought it would be easy this time too.

Any tips would be much appreciated, love all the support here!

You sound like me!

Have you tried 1 attempt only at +OPK?

I would personally not start changing up diet till you're certain you can't get pg without it. REmember, in fully fertile couples doing nothing to sway, it takes 3-6 months to fall pregnant on average. You've really only tried for one month.

Everyone seems to immediately blame it on diet but it's really hard for sperm to meet egg even under ideal circumstances (depending on your age only 10-20% chance of conception in any given month.) I would NOT start a prenatal vitamin, no way, no how. If you are getting within the LE Diet range of fat I would simply continue what you're already eating; however if you are NOT geting within that range (25-60 g fat, it's meant to be 20-30% of your day's cals from fat) then you may want to increase it. But I would use Omega 6 fats and not healthy or animal fat.

Something else to consider is tht if you had sex starting CD 9, it may have been that DH was too depleted by the time O day rolled around and there just weren't enough swimmers to seal the deal.

My recommendation for a ******lined sway:

LE Diet (including fiber supp and focus on OMega 6 fats)
exercise
LR for DH
Reg release every 2-4 days
One attempt at pos OPK

Those are the things I think really truly sway strongly enough to justify their existence. THe rest is just background noise.

Thank you, Atomic! You're right, I think the first month, we didn't try enough (possibly missing the fertile window altogether), and the second month, we tried too much. I'll try for every 2-4 days this month, keep the LE diet and maybe up my fat intake (I think I'm on the low end of fat intake).

Would love to start the new year with a BFP! :fx: Thanks again, will keep you all posted!
