I just really don't know how I am going to do it. I "thought" i had it all figured out. I had the low everything diet down, I had lost 10 lbs so far, I was planning on being outside as much as possible for -ions. I bought my supplements, I bought my negative ion bracelet, I had my moon signs and biorhythms figured out, and have my supply of diet coke.

Now I am reading more that I shouldn't be outside, I can't swim, dieting is much harder then I thought it would be because of all the events I have this summer. I just don't see how it is possible this summer. I have to be outside with my DS, I can't stay inside the whole time, besides the fact I don't want to, it is just too hot and I would have to have the air conditioning going which sways girl.

I just don't see how anyone sways in the summer. I thought I was being smart by waiting till the summer, but now I am thinking I should just throw it all out the window, let nature take its course and sway next time in the winter.

You won't ever get a perfect sway!

I say go for it, you can go outside and swimming etc, you just counteract those ions by upping others, such as the bracelet etc.

I am mostly worried about my meat intake and the swimming. I didn't realize that swimming swayed boy, and I have big vacation to Saint Maarten coming up. Then I read that we should stay out of the sun, but how???

FWIW I ate lots of cake with my girls! I think it is more the meat, salt and potassium foods that are the important things to avoid.

Are you a vegetarian? Or did you eat chicken and Turkey?

I don't think you should wait.
I have been doing this wretched diet on and off for a year and a half. I'm not pregnant and know that I can only do so much. As long as I'm not eating too many cals and reducing salt less meat etc it is still way different than before. There are so many times that I felt guilty about this and that or didn't fully enjoy myself at events because I was worried about ruining things! I'm still not pregnant and so many wasted food opportunities! My friends are all having girls and they were all conceived in the summer!
I'm going for it. It shouldn't be too stressful=boys! Also I used to worry about this and that event but even in the winter there are loads of things going on like xmas, parties etc. I find it easier in the summer as there is always chicken and salad at bar b ques! I just do the best i can.
Also you actually have to get pregnant to conceive a girl which is what I have to remind myself sometimes! The other things are that if you look on ingender people get girls all the time without changing that much at all.
Goodluck x

No, donīt give up now! Diet is the most important thing! Being outside may sway (change the odds) a tiny bit but not in any way as your diet does. I think everybody spends a lot of time outside in the summer, and still births are appr. 50/50. If being outside swayed that much, wouldnīt farmers wives have all boys? Or everybody that went on holiday when they conceived? I had the same doubts about swimming because Iīll be on holiday too, but being away will make me relax (low testosteron) and donīt think about food that much, so it will be easy to stick to the diet. Iīm gonna allow myself a couple of treats in those 2 weeks, hey, holiday and TTC should make a little fun too I think!
I think in winter it will be harder to stay on the girl diet since you spend so much more time inside and normally we tend to eat more in winter. And if you have a piece of cake every now and then, who cares! As long as you follow the diet the rest of the time, the change to what you ate when you had your boys is still HUGE.
I have family visits next weekend, Iīm gonna make a nice weightwatchers strawberry pie and take a normal piece, so they wonīt get on to me.
And most importantly, once you took the effort to get on the diet and loose weight, the hardest part is done, just keep going until youīre at the 6 weeks and then go for it! Youīre almost there, donīt you see all that pink dust coming your way ??

I say go for it anyway, there is no such thing as a prefect sway but they still can work!

I'm with twosweetlads, you will never had the perfect sway, but do everything you can MANAGE doing....and that, in and of itself, is more than nothing and IS SWAYING! Don't worry about the stuff you can't deal with....if you are going to be outside, then go for it! Control the things you can control and don't think that every little thing must be lined up pointing to pink. I was in the sun a lot when I conceived my girls, as I was on the beach or lake everyday. The one thing that I can tell you without a doubt that I feel made me have girls was my diet and working out so much. I ate very little and worked out a ton, and was surely low blood sugar and acidic. We dtd with regular old KY also. GOOD LUCK!

swaying is never perfect but starting the diet and supp change early is a good idea... prep for a few months and then maybe try around the winter time.

I am trying in July but if no BFP then I will be waiting until a little later to try around the winter time for us when we eat a lot of low everything soups and stay inside.

{hugs}, you have to do what you feel is right. If you got pregnant over the summer with a boy and you think you'd always blame it on being outside or swimming then perhaps you'll choose to wait. Personally, I'm not even considering whether I'm indoors or outdoors or whether I'm in a room with air conditioning because I have a hard time buying all that stuff. The diet is the big factor for me and lowering DH's sperm count. If we can do well with those 2 aspects then I know I won't have any regrets if we get pregnant with another boy. Good luck making your decision.

I agree, go with your gut feeling, it's not worth having regrets, it also sounds like this is stressing you out which is not good. Good luck and be at peace with your decision either way!

Thanks ladies for all the support. I just get so frustrated because I feel like every time I get things going I read something that I am doing wrong.

I am going to keep going with what I am doing now, and if I get another DS the next time I TTC I am going to sway in February. I think that will be a much easier time for me.

Sending you lots of love. I gets really tough to not be worn down & ready to give up, especially w/low blood sugar. Sometimes I feel like I'm chasing a unicorn. I think we're all second guessing our sway at times & the tough part is that there are no guarantees, even with a "perfect sway". Go with your gut and don't look back & we're here for you now or then.

Here's the thing. People ask me what is "best" for swaying and I answer them. But that DOESN'T mean that people who do those things are going to 100% for sure have a gender opposite. It just means what seems best overall. Plenty of people have conceived against the swaying rules, if it was easy or clear cut, the human race would ahve died out a long time ago. It's just NOT POSSIBLE to do everything that seems "best" because you'd drive yourself insane. Pick what works for you with your lifestyle and let go of the rest.

According to the best data I have at my disposal http://genderdreaming.com/forum/showthread.php?1693-the-seasons-and-swaying TTC in the late summer-early fall sways blue so if you're going to do it, I would only try in June/July which seem fairly neutral, and then wait until late winter/early spring to try again because that's when girl conceptions peak. This is what is "best" but I promise you that many boys and girls are conceived in every month (and believe me it SUCKED being one of like 3 blue opposites in the December due date board so I know firsthand!!!)

I ~personally~ put very little stock into the swimming thing, but when people ask me I tell them what the traditional swaying info indicates.

Wear sunscreen.

I totally agree! :agree: It's not any one meal that your body "notices:, it's the OVERALL pattern. Even our primitive ancestors occasionally found some honey and/or a buffalo carcass now and then.

If it helps any... I know many vegetarians that have had boys. My husband's cousin wife who is a vegetarian and pretty thin, just had her 3rd boy. Maybe it really is the salt and potassium.

Or the protein, the fat, the calories, and the nutrients, ALL of which can be VERY ample in a vegetarian diet.

why can't you be outside? the ions thing say it's better to be outside

Your body manufactures Vit. D from the sun and Vit D boosts testosterone.

I already mentioned this in another thread but for benefit of those who didn't see it, humans and their primate ancestors have lived out of doors for millions of years during which the gender ratio stayed right about 50-50. People didn't even START living indoors until the last few thousand years and many cultures still live mostly outdoors yet their gender ratio stays the same. It makes NO sense to me that any mechanism could have ever evolved that favors the existence of some tiny particle that affects you differently when you're outside if EVERYONE was always outside all the time when Homo Sapiens were evolving.
