I'm going to be starting clomid next month, for girl :DD:swaying purposes only. I have 100mg tabs but thought that dose seemed high so was going to just take 50mg? on days 3-7? Should I use RepHresh with it? I'm taking mag cal, baby aspirin, folic acid and doing the LE diet slightly adjusted. Not sure what vitex is? Is it too late to start it if I'm ove now but not ttc til next cycle? Is there anything else I'm missing?

from what I know Clkmiod makes cm hostile so using Re-phresh will make it nearly impossible to conceive. 100mg seems quite too high if it's for swaying purposes. Did your doctor give you that dosage? I'm on 50mg (due to no Ov/infertility) days 3-7. I know baby aspirin also makes your ph low so not sure if it's ok to take it...maybe someone else will chime in. GL

Tiffany, I have PCOS and was on Clomid 100 mg TTC #3. We swayed for a girl more or less, but unfortunately I got pregnant the first month much to our surprise using Rephresh, folic acid, calcium citrate, and cranberry supplements. We dtd shallow and stopped 2 days before O and here I am pregnant with that I think is a third boy. So to say that will make your CM too hostile, I am not believing it! Unfortunately we didn't have but two weeks to basically try for our sway, so maybe it wasn't long enough. Guess we'll see in another month or so what the gender is..... Good luck!!

Thanks for your response. I have to take the aspirin while ttc and pg due to previous complications and mc. From what I've read, aspirin and clomid together are fine but I am still unsure about the RepHresh...

This is what I know as I asked Atomic the same questions.

You don't have ANYTHING while on Clomid, not even Rephresh as Clomid will make your environment very inhospitable making it hard to fall pregnant. You don't take Vitex while on Clomid as they cancel each other out. If you are using only for swaying, I would start on 50mg as there are risks or cysts forming because of follicule hyperstimulation. If you are over 35 it would be wise to check your FSH levels as Clomid can make it worse.
I had 1 clomid cycle for swaying 3-7 and did not fall pregnant, it gave me hot flashes and endless darkish OPK's which confused me as to when DTD at all. My cycles are a very regular 27-28 day with O on day 13-14 but on Clomid I didn't O until day 36!!! My whole cycle lasted 49 days and it was a nightmare. Because clomid made my cycle so long and confused me as to my ovulation window I'm not even sure I timed it properly, maybe that's why I didn't fall pregnant. I fell pregnant on the cycle after Clomid though.

I wish you luck with your sway on Clomid and I don't want to put you off, but be aware it can mess up your cycle in a drastic way, be prepared to be very patient.

Thanks. I'm so confused about the whole thing so will probably only do clomid one cycle anyway. I knew not to take vitex with clomid but I wasn't sure about the RepHresh. Thought it might have helped since it raises low ph to normal levels?. Didn't realise the clomid would mess with my cycle so much!!
I see we have boys the same age. My son Kayden is 11/12/2010 and your son Aiden is 10/12/2010 :)

Do not take rephresh you can still have your girl. That is a good thing that clomid is messing up your cycle you want your cycle to be different then how it was with your boys. I took clomid on days 3-7 I heard early u take it at 12pm sways girl. I suggest if it isn't to late buying a plan with Atomic. She would really guide you in your girl sway and especially since you have poas. I used clomid to sway for a girl only too. I used it for two cycles and it worked on my second cycle. I wish you all the luck in the world!! If it doesn't work you can always look back on your sway & know you gave your hardest attempt since you used Atomic sway plan. Good luck!! Oh and I used baby asprin!! Good Luck!!

Just wanted to mention that it is best to take Clomid under a doctor's advice and with monitoring to prevent multiples.

PLEASE take only 50 mg!!

I see you bought a sway plan so if it is ok with you, instead of taking time to go over this all right now, I will just put into your sway plan.

Well, whether you believe it or not, the fact is that Clomid DOES indeed make your CM hostile by blocking estrogen production during a critical phase of your cycle. That is biologically how it works and if you take Clomid for longer than 6 months, your CM gets so hostile that you will render yourself temporarily infertile and that is why doctors do not let anyone take it for longer than 6 months. That having been said, when taking it only for one month your body is still able to compensate and make a good level of CM, and this is why I am more tolerant of people including some sway tactics the first month while on Clomid, just to see if they can get pg.

You can ALWAYS get a boy or a girl with any sway tactic.

I did want to clarify about RepHresh - it raises low pH to normal NON-OVULATION pH which is 4.5-5. Your pH at ovulation needs to be in the 7's and thus RepHresh will lower that pH too much when you are on Clomid. But again, some people are still able to conceive despite the 1-2 punch of RepHresh and Clomid, it's just that it makes it that much harder to do and so if you MUST include RepH (which I feel is not getting the results to justify the trouble it causes) please stick to just hte first month or possibly two when on Clomid.

Thanks for replying and helping me understand the RepHresh. I'm def not going to try it cause I'd prefer to get pg quick. I am thinking of getting a prescription for clomid though (to lengthen my luteal phase etc) and then I can be monitored as well to be on the safe side. If I don't get a prescription, won't the clomid come up in blood draws when I'm pg? How would I explain that?

I'm going to give general advice for everyone reading this if that's ok - this is not directed at you personally Tiffany, it's general advice.

We really REALLY really want people to get a prescription and monitoring for Clomid. The idea of twins is cute and fun but the reality has been that there have been a LOT of sad endings on the site for people who had multiples, even just twins, and because of that I don't recommend using Clomid without a doctor monitoring you via ultrasound so you can TTC in months where you only have one egg released.

That having been said, the problem that we are having is that some doctors really withhold the Clomid for people who legitimately need it, for what seems like nothing more than pettiness or perhaps legal liability issues, and other doctors hand the stuff out like candy and are not monitoring people anyway, so it's really a gray area. I don't want you guys taking it secretly on your own either because some people will take in in an unsafe way, and I know that's what will happen if I draw TOO firm a line here. So I just want to reiterate that I really really want you to strongly consider getting a prescription from a doctor that is willing to do ultrasounds to be sure you are not hyperovulating while taking it.

IF as I know some people will, a person were to choose to take it without a doctor's involvement, whether or not they can tell from blood draws or ultrasound depends on when you are having the blood drawn and how many eggs you released (if you release 4 eggs they're probably going to guess.) I have never seen any doctor bat an eye over it or even ask anyone. Many times we as patients believe our doctors, nurses, ultrasound techs think about us a lot more than they probably do when in reality a lot of medical professionals have the same level of passion for their work as do the teenagers behind the counter of McDonalds (and that's actually a GOOD thing, I personally wouldn't want my doctor up my butt about every little thing I do, KWIM??) So my point is, even if they can

In terms of results, being on diet for 12+ weeks and sticking to one attempt and hubby taking licorice root, have gotten equal results to Clomid, and exercise has gotten BETTER results (also olive leaf extract with a small sample size) so my thinking is that Clomid equates to a risk of multiples and all that comes along with that, for something tht we can achieve in other ways with equal or even greater effectiveness.
