View Full Version : So upset! I think I messed up royally and lh surge either today or tomorrow. Advice needed please.

Ugh I'm so upset with myself! I was doing so well last week. My willpower to not eat sweets delivered to my office was amazing! I was so proud of myself. I had lost my period weight gain. Now I'm about to ovulate. Probably going to get my lh surge either today of tomorrow bc I'm already seeing some ewcm during a BM (sorry tmi). So since I was doing so amazingly well last week with diet on Friday night, I had my company holiday party which I tried to eat ok at. I had few sips of cosmopolitan drink which I never drink alcohol so I'm a lightweight. Was buzzed off 10 small sips. No joke. Lol. Then I didn't eat anything being passed around at cocktail hour. So was doing great! Then at dinner time I orderd filet mignon (couldn't resist bc haven't had steak in like 7 months)! So only ate literally like a quarter of it. My DH ate all of his and mine. The serving wasn't large at all. Sides were potato cooked in a lemon sauce and spinach in lemon sauce (upscale Greek restaurant). So I wasn't upset with what I ate bc I barely had any of the steak and sides I ate we're real small. But this is where it gets bad! For dessert I had small piece of baklava and a slice of walnut cake. It's like they were just calling my name! Ugh then yesterday I baked Xmas cookies. Wishing I would have just skipped it this year but its a family tradition for me. So what happens? While baking I'm shoving chocolate chip cookie dough in my mouth! I barely had any cooked cookies bc I was just so ill by the time I was done baking them! So my meal yesterday consisted of a plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese at noon with like half cup of coffee with non dairy creamer and then two hours later started baking and it lasted for like 3 hours! No dinner bc I was just so upset with myself! I get on the scale this morning to see I put on 1 1/2 pounds! I'm worried about attempting this month bc I know weight gain sways boy! I also feel like I can't wait another month bc I'm almost 40 and haven't gotten preggo in past 3 mos!
I guess I just needed to share my concerns. So wishing I didn't bake these darn cookies! I'm so not touching them anymore. DH is eating them. I'd rather him eat them than me bc who knows if what he eats really affects him as much as myself. Seems like diet affects woman more from what I'm getting and he won't cooperate anyway.
Just wish I wasn't going to ovulate so close to christmas. This stinks! Does it sound like I messed up real bad? Especially right before waiting for lh surge and already seeing ewcm during BM. Also does sugar affect cm so quickly considering i started seeing it on late friday with bm? ugh I'm just so sick over this! Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

It's okay. Girl moms eat cookie dough and steak!! One day or a couple of days does not ruin a sway. The way we implement swaying on here is a cumulative effect where you are putting your body into a state to be more receptive to conceiving a certain gender. One day is not enough to ruin everything.
God luck with your sway.

Thanks so much for your response. You have given me some hope! I'm more worried about the weight gain of one and half pounds since Friday morning. I'm just so worried it will sway boy bc I know I've read atomic says not to gain any weight bc sways boy. I'm just thinking today I will barely eat anything but not sure if that would really help so late in the game being I'm going to ovulate in a few days. Thanks again for the response and words of encouragement. Appreciate it.

You can't look at weight gain from one day to the next - it's just not reliable. That could be food or water weight that you'll lose again in a day or two. I recommend only comparing your weights from week to week. If you are holding steady or losing then small fluctuations don't matter.
Also, 1 1/2 lbs is nothing! Like menstrual weight gain, it's totally normal to gain and lose weight (around 5lbs is normal) due to hormones. There's no way these slight changes can sway either way bc EVERY woman experiences them. Look at the bigger picture - how much you weighed around O or just before last month.
It does suck to be TTC this time of year though! I've almost 100% decided to wait until next cycle bc I want to give myself more than a month on the diet. But I still need to be strict now and I'm fighting against my natural tendency to put on weight in the Winter. I am always hungry before O too...how long have you been on the diet?

Thanks for the response. I have OCD and I weigh myself every day for years! It's not that I was starving I was just indulging. Lol. I'm not doing le diet the exact way it should be. I'm basically doing my own thing where I eat more carbs and not meat or chicken as much as I was and I'm eating less calories. I've lost about 10 pounds since end of July. I find if I eat more carbs I lose weight. I'd say last month at ovulation I probably weighed about the same but I had lost an addtl pound right after ovulation but I've pretty much been at the 125 or 126 pound range for the past month. Got down to 124.5 a couple weeks ago but it was short lived.

You CANNOT gain 1 1/2 lbs of actual weight in one day, it's impossible.
Do NOT skip this month! You guys need to be in with a good attempt every month because you never know when it's the last fresh egg in the carton.
Please do not starve yourself to make up for cheats.

Thanks AS! I actually ate at noon today so I'm not starving myself to make up for eating too much yesterday. I waited a little later today to eat and had plain bagel with reduced fat strawberry cream cheese.
Thanks for everyone's input. AS I feel the same way a month cannot be wasted bc of my age and who knows if its a good egg or not.

As a half a year swayer, one thing I have learned is not to beat myself up over cheats. Honestly, I now enjoy cheats more than anything. I used to think I would ruin my entire sway, but now I feel that it's what keeps me sane. I have cheated 3 times this week and have no regrets whatsoever! I will be cheating this week with Christmas and gain for New Years. I usually cheat twice a week, but with the holidays I may just have more cheats. I feel that I can't afford to skip a month b/c of cheats. I'm on CD11 (with my first round of Clomid) so I maybe Ov this week and feel that I have done so much and all I can do is trust God. Whatever it's meant to be will be and if I get another boy I will be happy with Healthy. I have been doing LE since June and cheats here and there will not ruin my overall LE diet ( at least I think so lol)
Please don't beat yourself up, enjoy the cheats and the holidays. Relax mommy and everything will be ok. The 1 1/2 lb you gained is most likely due to water weight. There's no way you can gain that in 1 or 2 days.

Trishy, you've been on the diet since July (or your version if it - that's still pretty WOW, IMO), can I ask how long you've been actively TTC? I.e. how long were you on the diet before you started trying.
I have OCD too, actually, and I totally understand the frequent weighing (I'm the same way with my measurements) and the freak out mindset! I hope you get your BFP this cycle. FX! If I do decide to try this month I will O on the 25th, give or take a day, possibly. Talk about timing! My family does red meat meals on the 24th and 26th and I just won't be eating with them I think. You have great will power to only eat 1/4 of a steak. (Greek food is my fave and I really miss the delicious Greek restaurants in Manhattan...)

I just want to say thank you for helping me put things into perspective after reading your post. You are right! It is in gods hands too! I am dieting similar to you, cheats a couple times per week but def watching what I eat more than I ever did in the past like meat proteins. I used to eat hamburgers and pasta with bolognese sauce once a week. I think I've had it once since July! I'm grateful that I found this site to learn what foods are more boy foods than others.
Good luck with your sway and hope you get your girl!

In all honesty I wanted to ttc in July before I found this site. Had read up on shettles at that time. However my DH was ill and not in the mood so we skipped it that month or did an o+12 which obviously didn't work! Lol. We really started ttc with pos opk in August, September and then had to take October off bc was having major uti issues where dr wasn't sure if it was an infection or something else. So had to skip October. Did ttc in November and at request if my obgyn told to use astroglide when I dtd bc intercourse is painful for me. So not sure if that prevented pregnancy. Each month that we have ttc, we've done two attempts. We had actually done one month abstinence of 3 days per atomic but that didn't work either. I'm awaiting to hear back from my gyno office bc DH had speem tested bc he is a kidney transplant recipient and on lots of immunosuppressants. He's been on them for almost 10 yrs. while he wasn't an issue three yesrs ago with conceiving ds, he was on lots of folic acid and vitamin d with calcium back then which helps fertility. I just started him on 1 mg of folic acid and 2000 units of vitamin d every other day. I'm dying to find out the results for sperm analysis. Last time I thought it was him too but turned out it was my hormone issues that I couldn't get preggo but I've had everythibg tested this time aside from fsh levels and all is coming back good. Even had a ultrasoubd done which proved I'm ovulating. So that's my story and due to DH being on so many meds is why my gyno wanted to test sperm count before we waste do much time being our age and DH health.
Thanks for the kudos about diet since July but to be honest with you I go through phases in my life where I lose weight and gain. Last year at this time I was the same weight I am now but had put on weight bc if darn christmas cookies! I felt like history is repeating itself right now! Lol. Hope not! These darn cookies r so tempting!
Like I said I don't follow le to an exact "t". I basically just reduced my caloric intake, protein intake and focus more on carbs. Sometimes I skip breakfast and other days I don't. Im trying hard not to snack but that usually happens at work between lunch and dinner. I've gotten better with it. I have to say when I see that I've lost weight and feel more confident it makes me want to lose more weight. So that keeps me going. I haven't held this much weight off since I got married 6 years ago. I would like to try to lose 3 more pounds and I will be pleased even more. I miss feeling so confident and sexy in my own skin. Weight loss certainly has helped me with that. When I conceived my son I was about 5 pounds heavier than I am now.
I'm sorry to hear your fsmily has red meat on Xmas. My fsmily usually makes pumpkin raviolis that holiday so I feel ok about Xmas eating that. Just that these darn sweets are tempting me! I took my son to see santa today at my parents development and of course there are homemade cookies there. Ugh! Ate some of them and did well at dinner. Parents were eating turkey chili and I ate pasta with grated cheese and had like a really small helping of the chili. I felt good that it wasn't red meat and was turkey instead. However I really focused more on my white pasta with grated cheese. But then came home and had 3 chocolate chip cookies that I made! Ugh all I think about is the saturated fat and semisweet chocolate morsels being bad for girl swaying! At times I just want to dump the cookies in the garbage! I have a new neighbor who I want to welcome to the neighborhood so I'm packing a box of cookies for him so hopefully I can get rid of some of them! Wishing I didn't double the recipe for my chocolate chip cookies! Lol.
Good luck to you with diet. It's not difficult for me bc as my friends say I've always been able to eat crap and lose weight! Lol. It's when I start eating 3 full meals per day or overeating when the weight starts to stick. As for manhattan, I'm so not a city girl. I only like to go there to see christmas tree. Other than that its just not for me! Lol. Oh and I love Greek too. Gyros are my favorite which I have had but only like 2x in 3 months. Depends where my company is ordering lunch from. I also don't eat the entire sandwich. Weight watchers taught me years ago about portion control and not to let yourself get to the point of feeling so full you feel ill so I've tried to live my life by those words. I usually get told I eat like a bird at meals. But I'm a junk food junkie! That's where my issue lies! Lol.
Anyway good luck with the diet. Hope we both get our girls!

Yes at the end It's definitely in God's hands! The only reason why I don't feel guilty when I have red meat cheats It's because I see how my 3 SIL's eat and they all have 2 girls each. They eat everything and seem to never diet, no exercise or potions. I've asked them only and the only pattern I see Skipping breakfast. They are SAHM's and they tend to eat their first meal at 10-11 (that's what they told me). One even told me that she dtd close to Ov straight( so perhaps, abstained and then dtd close to Ov)

Hmmm . Very interesting! Just wondering do they work out? I know chasing toddlers around can be a work out itself! Lol. I work 3 days a week and stay home 4 days with ds. I notice on the days I'm home I def eat brekkie later. Thanks for sharing the info. I'm really curious if they work out. I know I just can't find the time for it in my sway bc you really have to dedicate a lot of time and days to it. On my work days I am out if the house for 10 hours do by time I get home I have to feed ds, bath abd hopefully bed but reading books takes forever before bedtime and then I'm ready for bed myself! Lol.

This post made me laugh cause here I am CD11 and will Ovulate probably within this next week and I CHOWED on Carne Asada for dinner and it was soooo good! I didn't care if ruined my sway but figured it wouldn't since I hadn't eaten since 9am and worked a very physically demanding job and wasn't able to eat until 6:30 and was about to collapse from needing food so MEAT it was!!! I also drank 3/4 of a champagne bottle last night cause well I said to hell with it and got drunk and then attacked (in a good way) my hubby. haha so we all need a minute with these sways. The next few days will be challenging but I figure I will do my best and get some long walks in to help off set the food and alcohol. I can skip until later in the day but xmas day champagne is a must in our family! Good luck ladies, here is to our BFP's in the new year and hopefully girls.

Lol! Happy you enjoyed your meal. I guess we all need a cheat here and there. However my cheats have continued with 4 cookies yesterday while eating lunch. I didn't realize semi sweet chocolate chips are made from dark chocolate. Just found this out last night and here I've been eating chocolate chip cookies! I read somewhere that atomic states expensive dark chocolate is the worst so that made me feel a bit better bc I used nestle morsels and they are definitely not high end chocolate! Anyhow my lh surged a day earlier than expected so what will be will be.
I agree here is to our bfp this month and hopefully getting out little ladies!
Eta: I'm happy to say that I lost the pound and a half I gained! I feel much better now. Guess it was just water weight.

Hope you catch your eggy!
Semi sweet chocolate chips are only like 46% so not dark at all. Atomic is talking about the good stuff like 60 or 70% and up which is what I love but have stayed away from. Cookies and cookie dough are not high in nutrients so I think your probably just fine, as long as your not eating 2000 calories.

Def not hitting high calories bc if I eat cookies, I'm making sure my portions for meals are smaller. I'm also trying to eat them when I'm eating lunch or dinner so not snacking.
Thanks for the comment about semi sweet morsels. That's good to hear!

I know everyone is prob. sick of hearing this from me but TIMING DOES NOT SWAY and roughly 50-50 boys and girls conceived every day of cycle in all reliable studies done on the subject. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/7691-trouble-timing.html I also got my girl practically spot on O (late at night the day before O day) and 3 of my 4 boys with cutoffs.

Exercise is getting 90% pink and not all those ladies did the full 60 6-7. When I make recommendations I have to pick some number that I believe will work for most people, most of the time and for various reasons I picked 60 6-7 but that does NOT mean you can't get a girl with less. I think the 60 minutes is ~probably~ more important than the 6-7 days per week so if you are able to do 60 min. even 4 days a week that may help.
While I do expect that 90% to come down somewhat as more people include exercise, I strongly recommend that everyone at least try to do the exercise - the results are just too good, KWIM??

I'm happy to say my lunch just consisted of 5 homemade chocolate chip cookies! I can't wait until this last cookie tin is finished. I've been living on homemade cookies past few days! I did have my mini plain bagel today at 1030am with reduced fat strawberry cream cheese! Love that stuff! So tasty!
So at Xmas celebration yesterday I was talking to my sister in laws friend who has 2 girls. I was telling her about the le diet as I was cheating with a piece of pepperoni in my hand! Bad! And she was looking at me like I had 5 heads! I was on my migraine med fioricet which makes me loopy do maybe it was my imagination? Lol. However I asked her if she skips meals. Her husband jumped in and said sarcastically that he knows not to call her in the morning at work until she eats breakfast bc she's crabby without her meals! Lol. She doesn't skip any brekkie or other meals but she did say (bc I asked what she likes to eat) that she would eat a cheese sandwich sometimes with ham and sometimes without). It sounded like she eats bland meals but she did say she snacks a lot and loves chocolate every day. She admitted she eats a lot if carbs. I don't think she eats too much meat by the way she made it sound. She is def in her 40s as is her husband and I don't believe she works out bc her job with traveling was a very long day 5x per week. She works in manhattan and takes subways and train. She isn't really thin either but not heavy. Id say average. I was surprised when she said she snacks all day and can't skip a meal! Lol. Just wanted to share this story.
So AS if I told you I don't think I could commit to working out 60 minutes per day I assume you would tell me not to do any cardio right? I used to have a treadmill but it broke. The only thing I would be able to do is aerobics or something on DVD player. How bad are the numbers for ttc girl without working out? I've stopped taking the stairs up one level at work and using elevator bc of girl sway and muscle mass. Although my toddler had gotten heavier since he isn't sick every month anymore! Thank god!

If your SIL's friend needs to eat often she may be hypoglycemic or borderline hypoglycemic, which means she may naturally sway pink. Just a thought.
The overall stats for TTC girl are just under 65%, which is pretty awesome considering how many of those women already have multiple boys.

Thanks for the info. She didn't mention anything about being hypoglycemic. She made it sound like she gets moody. I gave a friend who is hypoglycemic and its so obvious bc she gets to the point of ill or passing out. This girl made it more like she just loves to eat! Lol.
As for the girl stats is that number without doing any cardio or working out? That's what I'm wondering what's the percentage with only dieting abd not doing any other sway tactics such as working out. Basically looking for being lazy or a couch potato. Lol.

If your SIL's friend needs to eat often she may be hypoglycemic or borderline hypoglycemic, which means she may naturally sway pink. Just a thought.
The overall stats for TTC girl are just under 65%, which is pretty awesome considering how many of those women already have multiple boys.
:agree: there are always going to be people who don't fit the mold, and in my experience this is particularly true of the girl moms. If as I believe, it's lowered fertility/declined condition that sways (keeping in mind that you can have lowered fertility and still conceive easily), then a person can go right off the TTC a Boy playbook and have girls.
Remember, it is NOT doing any of these things in and of themselves that sway. It's not that skipping meals/breakfast sways pink, etc etc etc. It's the effect that those things have on the body. So if someone has other issues going on, some underlying health issue that is not obvious or even known, then they are still going to be more likely to have girls. There are things that happen back in childhood or even when they were in the womb, for some people that may sway pink!!

Lol.
The 65% is overall success rate for all swayers on the site including everyone who posted their sway. Some were strict, some were lax, and it includes the early days where we got a few things wrong that we have since corrected for. Compare this to the blue sways which are hovering at about 80%, that's a big swing from possibly 80% likely to have a boy, to 65% likely to have a girl.
Exercise is sitting at 90% right now which to me is unignorable for anyone who can possibly make that happen without risking having O stop, I would try to include it.

If exercise is getting close to 90% at what point in your sway can you start working it in? I am in my fertile window now, so I was thinking to hold off until after O. I know you had responded to me before about not having much information regarding yoga too, so I have held off for the past two months. I am thinking about working that back in 2/days week with cardio 3/4 days a week.

Thanks AS! So just wondering, how many days and how much time would you recommend for exercise for a couch potato type person? And would it have to be done in days in a row or broken up? For example, I am home from work 4 days in a row and then work the next 3 days in a row. Is aerobics type too much or should I just run in place (like flashdance movie..lol) being I don't have a treadmill anymore? Also, if I've already been ttc for a few months, is it too late to work this into my sway? I just ovulated the other day so still want to attempt next month too.

I would aim for more along the lines of 5-7 days a week for cardio if at all possible - it's not just exercise, it's intense cardio exercise preferably 60 min. a day, 6-7 days a week is best but some peopel have gotten girls with a bit less. I do think the 60 min is more important than the 6-7 so if yoyu can only get 5 days (even 4) then that may be ok as long as you are doing the 60 min
reminder, anyone who has noweight to spare should not be doing the exercise

Thanks Atomic! I think I will work that in after O this month (starting my 2WW). I think I was too strict with the diet last cycle and did not O, I dropped 10 pounds pretty quick. My BMI is 19.3, low but I guess I can still spare just a few pounds (3 or 4 lbs max). I have increased my calories just a bit this cycle (a couple of cheats at Christmas).
I totally dropped frequency this month too b/c my almost 36 yr old DH BD for 13 days straight was too much. I thought it would increase my chances of BFP, but I think it hurt us.
I am just READY to get back in the gym, I think it will help my energy levels.

Yes BD every day for 13 days is not the way to go. Not only will it really deplete a lot of guys to the point where they have nothing left to fertilize the egg, but numerous attempts in the fertile window may actually sway blue for reasons we can only guess at. I would have him do reg. release and then stick with the one attempt at pos OPK, best odds of conception and best sway.
It's your sway and you can do it however you want of course, but with BMI 19 I would NOT add in exercise. I think O is going to go missing and stay gone for awhile if you do that. Anyone who has no weight to spare should not be doing exercise, and BMI 19 IS no weight to spare, even if technically you can still shave off a lb or two, it's going to make you stop ovulating.

I honestly don't know if it's ok to start exercise mid-sway or not - but we have had such spectacular results with the exercise that I think we need to take the risk in order to get the payoff.
I recommend doing as much exercise as is possible for you, and the 60 min. is more important than the number of days per week (this is my belief anyway, don't yet have data to prove it) so if possible, do 60 min a day on your days off and then either leave it on your work days or do a shorter amount of time.
While you should avoid weight lifting and kickboxing/boxing type exercises, anything else is fine. Above all else do what YOU like and will stick to. I personally think running/jogging is mighty hard on the body and I would rather see you do something a little easier. I like "Walk Away the Pounds", it's easy to learn and not overly difficult for people who are a little less fit. :)

Thanks AS! Funny thing is I think I may have the DVD or video for walk away the pounds that I ordered like 10 years ago! Lol. I have to be honest I just don't feel the dedication to exercising so much. I like getting my free time to catch up in things aroubd the house while ds is napping or I usually shower and wash my hair which is thick and takes time to dry and then use the straightening iron. Geesh I sound like an old complaining lady! Lol. But I'm just being honest. I know before I conceived ds I used to walk half hour in morning before work and after work bc my dog was a puppy and was told by vet to do this to get out some of her energy. However when I got preggo with ds I stopped the walking bc I felt so ill from pregnancy. Nonetheless I live on the north shore of Long Island and its so hilly here so def helped developed muscle back then. Lol. Anyway I just wanted to be honest. The girl swayers who haven't worked out have they gotten poor results in the end with getting their dg?

You definitely don't have to exercise to conceive a girl! And you can have a perfect pink sway (including exercise) and still conceive a boy. I really think you have a good if not great shot, Trishy. :)
Apparently my fasting was too strict and I almost didn't O this cycle. So I started eating lots (though still mostly girl diet, I have been snacking and not limiting cals), and 3 days later (this morning) I finally O'ed. CD20, eek, so late for me. I have been looking at potential natal charts (I'm into astrology) for Sep and Oct 2014 and I prefer those in Sep so I decided to try this month. My one attempt was 24 or maybe 36 hours before I actually O'ed so hopefully that's okay...time is now moving so slowly.

If you aren't feelin' it then of course that is always your call to make. My advice stems from what works best for the population as a whole but only YOU know what is going to be best for you in your day to day life, and where you're at in terms of gender desire, etc.
Moderate exercise such as walking 30 min + a boy friendly diet sways blue, so please don't take that as evidence that exercise doesn't sway for you.
exercise success rate - 23 of 26 people who did exercise got girls. 90% success rate. For those who didn't exercise, only 59% got girls (there are 178 total sways so that is a pretty big sample size)

Wow that's a huge difference with percentage between exercise swayers and non exercise swayers who got girls. I wish I could commit to exercise but just know I don't have that motivation. I am going to look later for my walk away the pounds video. Maybe if I find it it will put me in the mood to work out. However I think it's a VHS tape and I only have a VCR in my basement whereas I'd want to work out in my living room instead.
Oh no I know back when I walked the dog each morning and night I was def eating a boy diet. Hamburgers, buffalo chicken pizza few nights a week, fresh squeezed oj with breakfast with a half waffle and maple syrup 4 mornings out of the week and weight was fluctuating and when I conceived I was on higher end of weight fluctuation by like 3 pounds. I ate out at restaurants often bc didn't cook and had no responsibilities bc no kids. So def my lifestyle was very boy friendly. I'm trying very hard now in 2ww to skip breakfast (especially bc I was so naughty around Xmas). I even started adding a little alcohol in a couple nights per week after my son goes to bed. Like a few sips of cosmopolitan or a premixed drink called kinkie which honestly I think tastes terrible! Lol. I am such a lightweight with drinking that after 5 sips I'm buzzed so this is def a change for my lifestyle. Lol. Also bad migraines this month so took more fioricet than usual. I could only hope this all helps me. Just worry about birth defects but fioricet I would need to take swaying or not swaying. I can't deal with migraine pain for three days straight! Alcohol is a huge change for me bc I find it usually triggers migraines but if its temporary I can handle it! I already have my New Year's Eve planned out with little bit of alcohol. Lol.
I know I keep saying it but thank you for your input and help. Appreciate it.

Thanks for the info. While id like to think I have a good shot at a girl bc of diet I did terrible days leading up to Xmas day and I ovulated in Xmas day! I just cheated so much for like 4 days in a row. I'm so happy the cookies are gone now. Just pray if this is my month that all the cheats didn't ruin a shot at a girl for me. I'm in 2 ww now and skipping brekkie in hopes it helps me.
Wow sorry to hear o was so delayed! That stinks. I'm finding since I've changed my eating habits I either o at same time or a couple days earlier. Although I've noticed over last year that my cycle was changing anyway.
Hope this month is your month. I know I'd like a September birthday for a child bc then it starts getting cold out in New York and my husband will not let me have birthday celebrations in our house bc of younger nephews being disrespectful to our furniture and I just don't have a large house. So ds bday is in July and we have it outside in yard. Was hoping if we had another child their birthdays wouldn't be too far apart in months so I could combine a party (aside from first bday of course). Another reason is bc I also have party catered and spend few hundred on food and beer so if we can combine to once a year rather than 2x a year to save money it would help. But really I would like a September baby. Also November and December are so hectic with holidays but whenever god decides to bless me with another baby will be. Can you tell I have OCD? Lol.
Good luck to you. Hope you get a bfp this month.

That really stinks for you. I just wanted to express to you that I hope things work out for you. Like you said in a previous post to me, ultimately in the end its Gods decision what we end up with. I truly believe that too. The most important thing is a healthy and happy baby regardless what gender baby we each conceive. Although it would be nice to add a little pink into my family and extended family of all boys. Again hope things work out for you.

Thanks Trishy, my husband tells me everyday to drop the craziness and to continue praying that God already has plans for us. Honestly, at this point in my life I would be extremely happy with a sticky bfp, let alone with a super healthy baby. I would see it as a miracle because at this point I feel like I will never get a bfp;( if I do I'm going t be extremely shocked and thankful to God for another blessing and as you say I would love a babygirl, but will be happy with another DS;)

Just in terms of fertility, Oing earlier is generally a good sign, so I'm glad for your sake. :) I think I'll probably be okay but I won't be fasting again until I'm done having children, I think. Like you I'm unsure about exercise. I would love to start walking then running again but it's so hard to start in the winter without a partner. I would do yoga - I have some great videos I follow, one is moderate and one is intense/fast paced, kind of cardio yoga - but I'm afraid of those swaying blue!
I really don't think your cookie splurge affected your sway. Maybe I'm wrong to think this, but I believe in listening to my body including cravings. Maybe you needed something in those cookies to prepare your body for pg. Plus your eating habits and lifestyle, based on your description, remind me so much of a friend of mine. She had one boy then three girls and I've grilled her about everything she was doing when she conceived her kids. Like you she gets up early but doesn't eat breakfast right away and her normal diet is very similar to your version of the LE diet. She often splurges on baked goods and always is first to clean her plate at mealtime (unless I'm there and then it's a tie, lol).
I was laughing reading about your desire for a September baby. I totally understand! My birthday always fell during Spring Break which I hated growing up. My mom always received combined gifts bc she was born Jan 2nd. There really are better and worse times for birthdays.
I'm praying this is our month, and thank you for your positive thoughts! I think those really do help.

I know that AS has told me intense cardio sways girl. I would think just walking isn't enough but I could be wrong. Did you do any of your videos before you conceived your boy? I completely understand about you being worried your yoga videos would sway boy.
About my cookie splurge.. I can't deny it was a lot of cookies in the grand scheme of things. Lol. Didn't really eat any real meals those days. More like cookie meals! Like Cookie Monster from Sesame Street! Lol. I know in chrisrnas I did eat 2 slices of pepperoni and some provolone and fresh mozzarella cheese. Mmm! Them dinner was 4 pumpkin raviolis so I was confident about that. Lol. Who knows! What's done is done now.
No this would be my last child. We couldn't afford to have 3 kids. We can barely afford to have two but I really want another and I want my son to have a sibling. My mother was an only child and used to tell me if you have a child one day please don't let them be an only child. Although now she tells me differently bc she sees the cost of living in New York and worries about us. Also my brother and I don't have a great relationship. There's almost 6 yrs between us bc my mom had 3 misses in between and drs told her to take a break for 2 years. She had a huge cyst that wouldn't shrink with meds so they had to surgically remove it and once she had they problem resolved she was pregnant with me.
Also my age to me plays a factor too with having more kids. I always said I didn't want to have kids after 40 yrs old bc of risks but it seems if I don't get preggo soon I will be looking at being 41 when giving birth. Of course not trying to offend anyone on here with age etc. that's my personal feeling about whets good for me.
Thanks for telling me about your friend. I hope it works for me like it did for her! Lol. Although I waited to eat breakfast until noon today and now I'm starving and its 4pm. I'm going to look for a snack without high sugar. Maybe ritz crackers but this is where I fall off the diet. Wish I would have eaten a large bagel this afternoon instead of a mini bagel. Probably would have felt fill for a longer period of time.
Anyway got to go wake up my little peanut. Hope we get bfp this month and girl dust too!

Do NOT beat yourself up! You should know that I was a boy swayer with a great sway and guess what? I'm having a little girl. You will have what you ate meant to have. You can try to sway the odds but in the end who knows if it really matters. If I can gain 5 lbs, eat whatever I want, lots of protein, fruits and veggies and still have a girl - so can you. Good luck and RELAX :)
Thank you.

Sorry for gatecrashing the thread, but just wondered about the whole exercise thing. I run (or rather ran- at 39wks preg I'm currently not running anywhere)! 3 times a week and really upped my mileage when ttc a girl.
I also lost lots of weight and was strict on diet.
My SIL is overweight and doesn't do exercise- she likes baking, and she got her girl, whereas I'm having my third boy.
I remember reading on here about testosterone possibly increasing chances of boy? And a study about women who are more active having more boys?? Something about a NZ hockey team if I remember rightly?
Can u shed any light on this AS?
Am still considering swaying for no.4 or HT, so still studying sways like crazy!
But on plus side, my boy is due in 2 days snd can honestly say I'm very excited and currently GD free ; )

exercise 3x a week is moderate and tends to sway blue. Exercise does not exist in a vaccuum and if a person were very active and eats a boy-friendly diet, that is still going to sway blue.
I have an essay on how being thin and overweight both can sway pink here:

Not sure what your question is regarding testosterone??

Thanks Happylane for your input, I feel so much better now that I have decided to wean of LE for my own health sake. I'm on day 2 of modified LE and have decided to include lean chicken once a day, maybe it will help with my egg quality and perhaps OV.
If you want to change LE Diet to improve egg quality and make it mroe likely for ovulation to occur, lean chicken is not your best bet. I recommend 1 serving full fat dairy a day, 4-6 eggs a week, and 2 servings of salmon

oh no! lol I'm glad you posted this, but how can I stick with low protein with dairy and salmon? For this reason my crazy self has been living on fruit, rice and vegetables for the past 7 months...those were the only foods that have kept me on 40-50gms of protein . :(

First of all you don't count the protein in any fruits or vegetables other than legumes. Those are free for protein and fat (and low carb veg are free for calories as well, you can ahve as much as you want without counting them).
Secondly, 1 serving of full fat dairy has 8 g protein, an egg has 6-8 g protein depending on the size, and one serving salmon (3 oz) has 20 g protein. These things can fit in on LE Diet just as easily as chicken, that's for sure.
Thirdly, you DON'T. If you have stopped ovulating and want to up protein, then UP it. Increase to 50-60 g. I personally think protein is way way less effective for restoring ovulation than fat and upping cals thru carbs, but if you think it's going to help then please actually increase it to out of the LE Diet range.
Finally, just to reiterate in a bit more detail, I believe lean protein is precisely the wrong thing to increase if you are having trouble with ovulation. Your body will use it to build muscle and that may possibly raise testosterone or sway blue in some other way that we don't understand yet, and the absence of fat will STILL make it more difficult to ovulate because you aren't providing your body the raw materials it needs to build the hormones to develop eggs, lining, CM, and LH. And lean meat is very low cal/fat but very high in protein, so you immediately go over on protein and then have nothing left to eat for the rest of the day, because most foods have at least a little protein in them - if you get 50 g protein from a tiny piece of chicken breast for 400 cals, then what are you supposed to eat the rest of the day?? A diet of chicken, vegetables, and sugar will not restore your ovulation. Please actually eat some saturated fat in order to restore ovulation.

Thank you so much for the advice, i'm so glad you pointed those things out.! I will be eating more eggs from now on and skim milk. I have been drinking tons of rice milk with sweet bread (I used to drink Almond milk after I gave birth to ds2, I fell in love with the taste)but that sways blue right?. Is it still ok to do my cheats twice a week with some chicken in them?

FULL FAT MILK. Not skim. If something has just protein and no fat, it is not going to help restore your ovulation and may inadvertently sway blue by building muscle mass so you take the risk for no benefit. Plus skim milk has been shown to be bad for fertility for reasons we can only guess at.
You can certainly have chicken, but I just think it's a waste of protein because it's not going to help you ovulate. I would much rather see you have eggs or salmon twice a week.

Just goes to show that sways only help to improve chances and that anything can still happen, despite what we do...or dont do! Still definately worth a try!!

I appreciate that. Yeah these couple weeks between christmas and New Years have been real difficult for me. Then my husband decided to make pillsbury cinnamon rolls for breakfast. We usually have wonder brown and serve rolls but since wonder bread went out of business and was purchased by another company, I guess they didn't bring those rolls back so this is what he decided to buy the cinn rolls. So I'm 7dpo right now and been skipping breakfast every day yet my hubby starts baking these things at 930. I had two bc I read on the ingredients it contains transfats which atomic said is better for pink. So I figured it can't be so bad. I also had a glass of pineapple and coconut vodka with blue curaco last night which I never do. I'm really trying to change things up. However for the past two days I notice I have this really weird twinging or pulsatibg in my right ovary with a little bit of a sore pain when I push on it. I wonder if its implantation considering it started at 6dpo. So considering how horrible I ate this month if I'm preggo i guess I will find out soon if how I ate really affected my sway to go bad.
Thanks again for sharing your story. I really cut out meat for past few weeks aside from quarter of filet mignon I had at work party. Other than that I haven't eaten meat for some time do I'm hoping that would help me with sway bc when I got preggo with my son I ate meat often like chicken and hamburgers and fresh squeezed oj 4 days a week. This time ice cut out all of that.
If you don't mind me asking and not trying to be offensive or anything like that. I know atomic says heavy set woman usually have more girls and I'm curious if you are thin, average or heavy set bc you got a girl eating what you wanted. Right now I am at like 6 pounds thinner than when I conceived my son. Sorry for asking such a personal question. Just wondering. Thanks again.

None of this will ever be 100% or anything close to it, if it were the entire human race would have died out a long time ago. There is ALWAYS a chance of a girl no matter what you eat or drink or take or smoke. All I can speak to is the things that are going to sway the most for the most people across the whole population. There are always going to be people who get girls eating meat.
It is NOT diet that really truly sways. It's maternal condition. Diet is only a means to an end - it can help send a signal to the body about what gender has the best chance of survival but it's NOT the end itself. There are people who eat straight off the boy diets and get girls and vice versa, because it's what is happening inside the body that sways gender and not food they put into their mouths.
