I'm sure there must be lots of you who aren't properly trying yet but are researching/preparing/waiting for some reason or other?
 :)

How are we getting on?

I'm feeling so excited about swaying! :D not sure when we will start our TTC again, though.

Our original plan is to start to TTC in Sept (when I return to work from mat leave and my son will be 9 months) but having done the maths it would make financial sense to wait until next April all because of costs of childcare. However, I've sooo broody and not sure we will be able to wait that long. Maybe we ought to NTNP?

Just to be on the safe side I've started taking a variety of supps - 30mg of vit B6, 400μg folic acid, 800mg calcium, 7.5μg vitamin D, 300mg magnesium, 200mg cranberry (equivalent to 5000mg fruit). I'm also taking an odourless garlic supp because I'm a tasty option for insects and the garlic helps reduce that!

I'm also still waiting for my AFs to arrive as I'm still BF and haven't had once since birth. Ideally I'd like to chart 3 cycles before TTC too.

I have 2 friends who are pregnant at the moment and it's bringing back loads of memories, and I feel slightly envious of them! lol They're both due in October, so I'll be back at work by then and no doubt made to feel even more broody when I meet their scrummy little newborns! :)

Sooo... does anyone want to chat?

Me! I'm researching and waiting! I'm getting to the point where some of the information is running together and I'm getting confused on what is and isn't good for a girl sway. Do you have a "sway plan" yet? I'm still sorting through everything trying to figure out what we do and don't want to do.

I'm in a fairly similar situation to you. My DS3 is 7 months old and DH agreed we can start TTC in August (when he's 9 months). But it would make more sense to wait until next spring/summer. I've been itching to start trying so part of me really wants to go for it now but I know that it stresses DH out and he'd rather wait. I'm leaning towards TTC from August-December and swaying pretty hard. If it doesn't happen by December then we can wait and try again next summer.

yay! glad I'm not alone in this :)

may I ask why you'd wait until next summer if it doesn't happen by December?

I think I have a sway.. but then I think maybe I should be more relaxed about it. Currently doing the French diet, supps, rephresh, some ions, and not sure about frequent/abstinence yet. we have a CBFM that we used the two pregnancies before, so think we'll DTD on the high days and maybe the first peak too...

I have to say I'm really enjoying researching this as well :)

will this one be your last? did you have boy-diets with your older sons?

Since you guys have the luxury of picking when you want to TTC, may I humbly suggest Feb-April because some research indicates there are more girls conceived in the Northern Hemisphere, peaking in March. In my December Due Date club there were only a few people who conceived boys (and this included blue swayers!!)

Yes, I am researching and DREAMING right now of pink! My youngest son is 15 months old, and we have decided to wait until he turns 2 in March 2012 to start swaying! As of now, I tentatively plan to get off BCP in December and also start diet and supplements then. In March I will see my doctor to get on clomid, because I am pretty sure I will need it again. I guess we will just use condoms during those 3 months since I won't really have cycles....I'm not quite sure how to handle it any other way?

I wish more people would post successful sways because I love reading about what has worked! Maybe I am missing them somewhere?!?!? :)

Lol Mindy, me too! I think it's probably wishful thinking because we want to stumble across several successful sways exactly the same as each other and then we'll know exactly what to do!!

atomic that's interesting... we had our son in December :) (conceived April 1st), and my husband is born in Dec too, so ideally wouldn't like another Dec baby unless fate works out that way!

lol I'd love to read more successful sways too

mindy - how long did it take you to conceive before?

Me too! I am waiting a couple more months before ttc! My DS is ten months (OMG, where did that time go!!!) and I dont want to ttc until he is at least 1and is walking. Dh said the other day that he wants to ttc which is nice so I am going to spend another couple of weeks deciding exactly what I want to do with regards to my sway, then start the diet and supps in July.

I have had bad baby fever so we did originally say we would ttc when DS hit 9 months but when that time came it just seemed a bit too soon. Now Im thinking August/September. I just wish I knew how long it would take to ttc. Last time it took 4 month but we took a NTNP approach. I keep reading how it can be normal to be ttc for up to a year so I dont want to wait too long but then again I suppose you could get bfp first month of trying, who knows!

will you be doing the diet TP?

I'm predicting it will take longer to sway pink too because of the general lowering fertility stuff, but it took us 3 months to conceive both times so I'm hoping it won't take too much longer than that. Then again, both times we were properly TTC and DTD lots around the fertile times just so we'd conceive quickly, and I don't mind waiting a couple of months longer if we improve our chances of pink :)

Yes I am researching. My second son is only 4 months old but because of my age I think we will have to try for another baby sooner rather than later. So I was thinking of ttc end of this year/early next year. I want to conceive in summer as my boys were both conceived in winter.

Atomic do you know the best month to conceive a girl in the southern hemisphere? I was thinking of late spring/summer after reading up on the seasons and conceiving girls. I live in New Zealand. I would be interested to know the BEST month for conceiving a girl though?

rainbowflower - I also wonder about childcare costs and it would be easier to conceive another child when my baby is around 2 as we would get free childcare for my current baby when he is 3 making it better for when I have to return to work after the next baby was born. If we had to pay childcare for 2 children it may not be worth me going back to work. Unfortunately I have to work as we need my income to help pay the mortgage etc. I wish we could win some money but that is never going to happen.

I have so many friends/family that have just had girls or are due for girls in the next few months so I really hope when my time comes we can also get a little girl. I am planning on doing the low everything diet, supplements, lubes and antihistamines.

Anyway I am really looking forward to seeing what sway plans people put together so I can see what others are doing. I am also waiting for people to start finding out what they are having so I can see if the diets/supplements etc seem to result in people conceiving more girls:)

RainbowFlower: We want each child to have their own birthday month (if possible). Our family has birthdays in November, December, February and March. April has 6 birthdays in our extended family so we'd like to avoid an April baby as well. It wouldn't be a big deal if the kids shared a birthday month, but since we're planning #4 we'd like to avoid it if we can. #4 will be our last (regardless of gender). As much as I love having babies, we can't afford to "Duggar it out."

Atomic: Our boys were conceived in March, May and February. I guess that DH and I really are more likely to have boys. Maybe if we conceive in a "boy month" it will be a girl?

Mindy: I also LOVE seeing successful sways. It gives me hope. Maybe the clomid will help with your sway! Did you sway with your son?

ThinkPink: I agree! I wish that I knew when it was going to happen. We've had a fairly easy time conceiving in the past, but since girl sways really seem to decrease fertility it could easily take a while. We usually start TTC when the youngest turns one and I LOVE that age gap. Our kids are so close and get along pretty well.

Jude17: Are you going to do anything for timing? I'm doing the low everything diet too but I'm so torn on the timing issue. We're going to do abstinence so I'd really like to make sure that our timing is right. I don't think that I could ever do o+12, so cut off is probably our best bet.

"Atomic: Our boys were conceived in March, May and February. I guess that DH and I really are more likely to have boys. Maybe if we conceive in a "boy month" it will be a girl?"

No, unfortunately it doesn't work that way!!! In the "boy" months you're just THAT much more likely to have a boy!!! :hair: I have two March-conceived boys myself so I totally understand the frustration.

Interestingly, my boy that really "should" have been a girl (even more so than my failed sway baby because of the swaycession/testosterone thing) was conceived in August!!!

Oh well... I figured it didn't work that way. Maybe we'll wait? I'm torn. If we try this fall, here's to hoping that we do enough to overcome the "boy months" and if not it's ok. We make cute boys

Plus ya know the 4 boy club is very exclusive! ;)

PLENTY of girls are conceived in the boy months, it's just about optimizing your chances. GL!!!

ThreeLittleCritters - we will do abstinence for 10 days hopefully. I think we will try O+12 first but I know this and abstinence with our age isn't good but we will give it a go first. We will both be 37. Hubby can't handle doing frequent release!!!! :)

If this doesn't work I am going to try a 2 day cut off and then if that doesn't work will think about a 1 day cut off but this is how I got my second boy?

I have worked out the seasons for me. But the best time would be Sept to Nov but I just realized that this is actually getting really close so I would need to start the diet soon. I am still breast feeding though so don't have AF yet! I wonder if we will stick to ttc right up to late summer early fall and if not pregnant we will wait until the following September but we will both then be 38? My boys were conceived in June and May so I am definitely staying away from late autumn/winter to conceive. If I want another baby hubby wants to try asap as he thinks we are getting to old. Good to know that people with a small age like the gap and think their kids get on well. I am nervous about such a small age gap though especially if my second son isn't sleeping through the night by the time a baby comes. I really suffer badly from lack of sleep!

Times just goes so fast doesn't it. I might start trying to finalize a sway and getting in everything I need. I only have the sylk at the moment.

Edited to say that - We also make SUPER cute boys as well. Everyone says they are beautiful looking boys :)

Yes, Aug and Sept are more boy-friendly. But there are still plenty of girls conceived in the "boy" months (I was!!). First and foremost do what is right for you and your family because swaying will help counteract this effect.
