What kind are most of you taking? I have the impression that Chitosan is the most popular, but why? I've started with Benefiber, but if Chotosan has good stats, I'll switch as of now. Just curious..Thank you!

Chitosan may be a little more effective at absorbing fats than the others.

We do not have enough results to be able to break it down by type of fiber and I think that any non-vitamin fortified fiber will work.

Ok, off to buy Chitosan, thank you, atomic!

Just looked up chitosan and there are so many types! Some with soy, some with vitamin c, some with something called absorbitol?! Does it matter which one we take?

the soy is probably a miniscule amount used to formulate the pill.

avoid the Vit. C one, the absorbitol is ok

A lot of us here use Metamucil. Atomic has okay'd it.

I'm using the sugar-free Metamucil that has aspartame. I take it twice a day, before lunch and dinner.

Honestly, I prefer the Metamucil because it's more convenient when I'm home, cheap, and I figure the aspartame can't hurt. But I take the chitosan once a day because my tummy just gets upset if I take only Metamucil before every meal, so I mix it up with chitosan once a day.

I think Metamucil is fine!

I see you are taking it before meals. I've been doing after meals...does it matter?

The idea behind using fibre supplements in a pink sway is that they absorb fat, right? Does Metamucil really do that? As far as I understand (English is not my native language) it is used as a mild laxative. I have a product here at home, that is called "Mucofalk". It seems to have the same ingredients as Metamucil. Has anybody ever heard of Mucofalk or used it in a pink sway?

It needs to be before meals.

Yes, Metamucil also absorbs fat and fat soluble nutrients. IT's also a laxative.

If the ingredients are similar then Mucofalk is fine to use.
