My husband would let me go 5 but I won't! I am done no matter what lol!
He's very cute NC! I can't believe they are that confident to write on the u/s!
They won't even do that at the 18 week one here!!

Coocoo mine is the same, they won't even guess until 18+ weeks unless you pay to get a private scan. They don't even print potty shots here, at least not at my old clinic. Hoping my new one will.

Thanks Rosie, I do love hearing that:)
I can't think that though as I let 'maybe' creep in last time and I fell hard. I feel like if I just go in thinking it's my 4th boy I will be happy through my pregnancy! And in the end I'll be happy either way:) but I still don't want to know for sure if that makes sense?!

That's so early to find out NC, what a gorgeous baby boy!
Poppys5 - I replied to you twice and it got lost somehow, guess what I had to say wasn't worth saying lol. Basically agreeing that I'd like a dd for the boys to learn how to grown up with a girl. But I don't think it will happen, and actually don't even think about it as I don't have any hope this time like with the other pg's xx and your boys sound adorable! I went football boot shopping with ds1, he's 10, was lovely to have a wee bit of 1 on 1 time, no bickering, arguing or headache after the car journey xx

So cute Beachy! Love that baby's belly:) That is a pretty good potty shot. I had a 13 week uls with DD and the tech took a peek at the potty shot (not photos) but there wasn't any noticeable boy parts. There were three little dots though.
I think it is awesome your tech (or doc) did that potty shot for you!! Did you also get a nub shot??
Your DH is so great to say you could go for another. My DH didn't want any after the first two and thought he was very lucky to only have boys!! He has clearly been in denial about this fourth baby. After the uls exam I could tell it had really hit him that we were having another... and of coarse he wants another boy!
I keep telling him the way to prevent this is for him to get snipped and he keeps saying no so I am done listening to him say he doesn't want anymore kids:)

I totally understand! I am going to be doing the same thing. In the end I just really want 4 kids. I would LOVE for there to be a girl but if not..then it wasn't meant to be especially after this sway!

Thanks everyone! I have to say it does sting a little (ok A LOT) to know that I may never get to live out my dream. I just have to have faith that there is some other plan out there that I can't control!! I am so happy for this baby and so happy to be having him, but I am just sad for myself. I can deal though!!! Much worse things out there than to have a pitty party for myself!!
coocoobananas
April 10th, 2014, 05:29 PM
You can have a pity party, I mean seriously 1 out of 4 is really too much to ask?? Sheesh!!
Today I was at the park and I've noticed I don't have that lingering for little girls the way I used to. Like, meh, so I'd get to dress them different... Just doesn't sound as much fun as it used to. In fact anytime I see something online, I wouldn't even know what to pick. I ain't no frilly girl lol! I guess this will all help with the no girl thing in the end... Well it's a step;)
Our next dog (not for at least 4 years) will be female! Lol
NCBeachyGrl
April 10th, 2014, 05:34 PM
Exactly coocoo! As I haven't gotten older, it's not so much about the frilly clothes and bows!
But hey, we have yet to have any girls in our due date group so if I can't get one, I'm pulling for you so bad!!!!

April 10th, 2014, 05:45 PM
Awww thanks;) I just don't feel it though:/
I especially don't now that you heard boy!! I was thinking we would all hear pink:(
I was on Ingender and happened to see you post there. Are you further along than you think?
My biggest worries about the scan tomorrow is obviously seeing a nub, that I'm having twins or something is wrong! I've never had those fears before!!
I think because 2 people told me horror stories in real life and made me think how lucky I've been to never miscarry or have anything happen:/
Blech!
NCBeachyGrl
April 10th, 2014, 05:49 PM
Ughh! There is so much to worry about!! I am 100% certain about my dates and my 8 week u/s showed that too. It really freaks me out bc he is so big already! I'm thinking bc of my gestational diabetes!!

Coocoo I felt the same way. How is it that I got pregnant 5 times and only had 1 girl. It's unbelievable. I was feeling bad for myself too. And bad for my dd. But I was giving her feelings that she didn't actually have. At the end of the day I think it's so incredible that our babies are so healthy. My last pregnancy I really felt like I was pushing my luck. But it all worked out. Coocoo your going to have a great scan tomorrow. Are you going to put pics up? Super stalker just wondering...lol.
Acason27
April 10th, 2014, 08:49 PM
I was hoping we would all hear girl too. I have my 8 week scan tomorrow and dreading the blood work, I always pass out :/
I don't long for a girl like I did with DS3. I think maybe because we never planned on 4 and I already had in my mind I would never have a girl. I will probably have boy #4 too which is fine. It does seem crazy how out of 4, you only want one different and can't get it. But as I sit here my DS3 is snuggled on me saying Momma and giving me the biggest smiles. A healthy happy baby is all that matters (even though I do know if I hear boy I will be disappointed for a bit).

Just wanted to add ladies, you really all are an inspiration to me (not for having boys but just for having children). I don't have any friends IRL who have more than 2 kids (a pigeon pair of course, most only have 1 and I'm one of the first to be expecting their second), and it's not like I'm a babe in arms myself, I'm 30! I just feel that people will look down on me for even considering 3 kids (not that it is any of their damn business or anything), and I know this journey will be a tough one and I'm only right at the start of it, but the fact that you are all so happy with your families and having more babies gives me hope that I will be able to do it as well (somehow). I hope you will all be on hand to help me when it comes to potty training my toddler lol!! Xxx

Hey ladies:)
Sorry it took so long, couldn't upload pics and then my mom was here so couldn't keep trying to post!
I tried desperately not to look at the nub area but she had it on profile for a lonnnng time! The nub was blaring in my peripheral...it was the straightest whitest line I have ever seen! It didn't go down but it wS completely parrellel.
I am feeling happy about it as it wasn't obvious boy and if I was non biased I would lean girl so I am happy to say I at least still feel like I have a chance:)
Of course nooo pictures of that! I was thinking when she had it up 'take a pic tKe a pic!' But then I would have obsessed so I am soooo glad I didn't actually!
I actually saw 3 lines between the legs at one point and I didn't think much of it because I know boys can be seen like that too.
I am still going to be team green as I want to keep the hope alive lol!

Ive been looking at private scans at 16wks but if i wait til 18wks its half the price or better still free if i wait til hospital at 21wks but i dont think i can wait i keep getting my hopes up babys a girl then i crash back down and feel in a mood, i really wanted to wait wait until birth but i dont think i can if baby is a boy i want to stop feeling in a mood forget about any gd be excited and go out shopping! I also havent announced im pregnant yet to anyone except dh of course lol but i think it might make it easier for me if i can announce im pregnant and the gender at the same time!

My nephew told us if our 4th is a boy we need to call him Norman because our other 3 start with an E,S and W... East, south west!! So we need an N name! Isn't that clever?? Anyway feels totally right but man to find an N name I like...not easy!!
I actually like North for a name but Kim Kardashian ruined that for me lol!!
So any suggestions welcome:)
Although, my co workers last night probably thought of every last one lol!
And the one I would love is Naiya but my good friends little girl is that! Dang it!!

I hardly got to see the scan it wasnt like that with ds3 at the same hospital its normaly on a big screen so u can see everything but this time i only got a quick look was happy at the time but now im disappointed so think i,ll book 16wk scan as i want to announce im pregnant once i know the gender so i can hopefully avoid some of the usual questions my bump is starting to show and not sure i can hide it for much longer!

That is so nice you have a name picked out Beachy. DH won't even discuss names until 9 months and most of that discussion is at the hospital!! Naming is suppose to be fun but with my DH is isn't at all. He rarely comes up with the names (but he is really good at telling me no for the ones I like) then when he does come up with a name then that is that... it is the only name he likes and that is the name. So not fun:(

Hi i caved and booked the gender scan its sat 26th of this month! The scan was booked online so it was a computerised booking system it asked for due date or lmp well i put due date which i got from nt scan which will make me exactly 16wks the day of scan now im worried as by my lmp i would only be 15+2 do u think im ok to go with the nt scan? Also i definately wasnt going to put pics up in the ultrasound guessing forum but everything seems to have gone out the window lol so ive put them up if anyone would or can guess i cant even see a nub and im no good with the skull theory but babys head is a different shape to my others they have the neandertal forhead (thats prob so not how u spell that sorry) like their dad this babys forehead is flatter like mine! Oh love all the names so far! I said i was going to call this baby thomas (tom) the other day and he said definately not so now i have no names so back to square one as thats the only name i wanted!

Poppy as long as you have good tech you can tell at 15 weeks. It really is tech dependent at that point though. I had a great uls tech at 15 weeks that got a super good shot. I would ask them if they guarantee gender. Mine did and he was fantastic. Hope you have the same experience!!

Hi wanting pink the website says 99% accurate from 16 wks and if they cant see for some reason i will get another appointment free i think! Just worried the tech will refuse to continue with the scan as they are quite strict about being 16 wks but i,ll just say i didnt know my lmp i just went by nt scan im a wimp dont want them to tell me off lol! Hi all-
Wanting to jump in here. Just found out that we will be adding boy #4 to our crew…11 weeks along and just got my Materni21 results this morning. Everything looked good on the test…except for that Y chromosome they found ;) We did a light sway for girl, but it's obviously not in the cards for us! Slightly disappointed, as this is our last…but I completely expected to hear boy. I have to see it as a badge of honor to have four-of-a-kind! Anxious to follow you all through this journey!

I'm pretty big too peebell. I am still in regular pants with the button and button whole further and further away from each other and only because they're stretchy!! I think I have to go get some mat jeans tonight as hubby goes away from a week and I'm worried the pants are not going to cut it before he comes back lol!! I've always been in mat jeans by now but I gave everything away seeing I wasn't hVing anymore babies!!! Arghhh

I'm feeling much better although not normal still. Feel a little crappy each time I eat. After dinner to bed I feel the yuckiest but it's still better than my 1st 2 boys so I try not to complain:/
I'm only 5'2 (and 1/2) and my last guy was 9lbs 2!!!!!!!! Hoping that was a fluke... Although my 1st was 8'9 so not much better:/

Welcome chan and congrats on your new little guy! These ladies are lovely and very supportive of everyone's roller coaster rides!
I'm 18 1/2 weeks now and I still don't really have a bump yet, I just look fatter all over lol :/ I didn't have a massive bump first time round, and I really do think my Pilates has massively strengthened my core, so I guess that my abs being pretty strong and carrying very far back ( mum was the same with me) just means that I'm going to look like a chubster for the rest of my pregnancy rather than an obviously preggy lady. I have bump envy lol!
Hope you are all ok ladies and good luck for your test results wanting xx

I was huge with all my 3 im also only 5.1 i was also in maternity by this stage with all mine but trying not to buy any just yet as im keeping the pregnancy a secret for as long as possible so ive just got clothes in bigger sizes for now! My tummy with this one is smaller now than it was last month but im not eating no where near as much i was eating loads of bread upto 12wks as it helped with the all day sickness! I also seem to have big babys ds1 was 8lb and 2 wks early ds2 9lb2 and ds3 8.1 this baby is already measuring big hoping that i dont get as big as i did with ds2 i looked bigger than most people do at 9months by the time i wad 4 and a half months i had to have extra scans!

I am a shorty too! I am just under 5'2. My last baby was the biggest at 7lb9oz but that was at 36 weeks and 5 days. If I went longer I can only imagine how big he would have been! My babies all come early, so I would be miserable if I ever went past 37 weeks.

I may get the tech to look. They don't tell us at the scan but forward it to out r doctor and they tell us if we want them to.
I'm thinking I'd like to have the info there in case I cave like last time and then don't have to pay to find out!!
My mom really wants me to wait but I'd love all the people who just know it's another boy to have it rubbed in their face if it was in fact a girl!
Today I told a very sarcastic friend that I was expecting and she kept saying 'you're joking' over and over. Then laughed when I said maybe it will be a girl. Nice.
She's in a horrible relationship though and is miserable all the time so I'll let her laugh at my "unfortunate" situation (eye roll)

That is the reason I found out with DD as early as I could. So when I told people that I was PG and they said "Oh... hope it is a girl" I could say "well actually I know it is a girl". If DD was a boy I was prepared to tell people right off the bat so I didn't get any of the "did you want 3 to try for a girl" comments.
Uuuhhhggg I just hate all of that! Maybe I won't tell anyone ever that I am PG:) Most women won't ask if your PG unless you are showing big time:)

That's exactly why I waited to find out this one was a boy before we start saying much. I didn't want any additional pressure of everyone saying, "this will be your girl!" I wanted to be able to announce that we were pregnant and what the gender was at the same time.

We waited with DS3 to announce we were pregnant when we knew he was a boy. I also didn't want to hear the "oh I hope it is your girl" comments. This time I didn't care and we announced it already. Haven't heard too many girl comments yet, a few. For some reason I am not as stressed about the gender with this baby. DS3 it was all I could think about and I knew he was a boy. I wanted a girl but just knew it wouldn't happen. It's weird, either I really don't care this time or I feel like I might get a girl. I find myself actually looking at cute girl clothes. I guess if this is a boy, the next few weeks are the last time I can dream, so I will just keep doing it :)

So I've asked my sil not to throw me a baby shower this time. I don't want people to not think it is special if it's another boy (only 3 friends came last time after all insisted I had a shower when I said I thought I shouldn't and some even said if my relatives didn't have one for me they would throw it!) 3 friends!! (Granted they had excuses but still lol)
But I also don't want them all to come because its a girl! That makes me mad!i think they would make more effort because they would be excited for me, which is nice but it hurts my heart for the boy they wouldn't think is as exciting!
So they don't get one at all! Lol

I feel bad already if this LO is a boy. I will get all the canned responses of "well as long as he is healthy" and half hearted congrats. I wish everyone would be half as excited for a boy as they would if this is a girl. DS3 I felt didn't get a lot of excitement and it broke my heart.

If we all had two or three girls, everyone would be hoping we'd be having a boy next... You just cant win with some people. I havent announced my pregnancy yet, but if we dont see a nub at my scan next week, I'm telling people I want a brother for my boy... Lying... Maybe... Self preservation... Definitely. One of my friends on FB announced she was having her third girl and there were several comments saying "well maybe next time a boy" or "guess you can only make girls". Thank you so much for your concern - I was so stressed there for a while, I am so sorry for the lack of updates. This little man appears to like giving mommy and daddy some scares. I had so much bleeding and they thought that it was my placenta, baby boy's heart rate was decelerating, it was so scary. I was on strict bed rest for 2 weeks. Still have a partial previa with some bleeding but at least it's not a complete. They are not very hopeful that it will resolve. I have another scan in 3 weeks to check on things and my little man. I feel him moving and keep telling myself that everything is ok but not gonna lie, I am pretty stressed and worried. I just want to hold him more than anything and see for myself that he is happy and healthy.
I am trying to catch up on what I have missed. Congrats to all that have had their scans and know all is well! I hope everyone is doing well!

Hi ladies
I used to be a regular on these boards awhile back, but have taken some time off after we lost our twin boy last year. It's been a rough year, but I've done quite a bit of healing and growing, I think. Well, hubby and I got the biggest shock of our lives a couple of weeks ago when my period was late and a strong BFP was staring back at me. We were 100% NOT trying, and this is actually terrible timing (I just started a new job, just enrolled in a high deductible health plan, haven't lost all the weight that I needed to lose, just not yet physically or emotionally ready to take on another pregnancy just yet...) But, this baby is on his/her way, whether we like it or not, so here I am! I thought I was due in December but I had a dating scan this afternoon and learned that my dates were way off. My new due date is November 29th, so I'm hoping you girls might be able to make some room for me in this buddy group? I'd love to join, if you'll have me! :)

Hi ladies!
Wow lot's of exciting news, so fun to see people are finding out what they are having! We just got back from our 2 week vacay in Hawaii which was awesome but I did end up bleeding and going to the ER. Turns out I have a sub chorionic hematoma. Something I had never heard of before but apparently is pretty common. It's where you have a clot or a bleed between the sac and the uterine lining. I ended up getting to see the baby happy and sucking it's thumb at 10+3 weeks and had to a Rhogam shot. The rest of the trip was kept low key and not doing much of anything but relaxing. Not a bad thing while on vacation I just hate not being able to walking or hiking and such.
Have my next appt next week and the NT scan the following week, hopefully the bleed will have resolved itself.
Even when you hear it's ok it's just so darn scary seeing bright red blood!

Today I've had 2 naps and im exhausted again!!! So annoying!! I also think it may be this is when I start being deficient in things like iron and B12 as all my babies suck me dry!! I've been terrible at taking my m/v:/
Tomorrow I will be good and get on it and iron!! I just put them off a while because I didn't want to get more nauseated!!

Tomgirl that does sound scary. Glad everything turned out okay for you and sorry you had to go through that... especially on vacation. Probably good you were on vacation cause then you don't feel any guilt about laying around and taking it easy.
I too was wondering where NC has been... hope she is okay!!
I have a appointment tomorrow. No even sure what they will do besides make me pee in a cup and take my BP.
I have been having pains in my right side tonight. I am sure it is normal... it comes and goes. I just don't really remember this kind of pain this early in PG. I am sure I did but I don't remember which is crazy since this is my 4th PG!! I think if we all remembered how miserable we were when we were PG then the world's population would be shrinking... amnesia it is natures way of insuring the human race lives on:)

Hey coocoo, I'm still here. I have my scan tomorrow morning and I sooooo nervous/excited/anxious. I've done a lot of nub research so I'm going in armed to see that straight forked line.... (hopefully anyway). We've chosen a gorgeous little boys name though which has made me feel really excited if it does turn out to be a boy, so I think that will help any disappointment that may or may not creep in.
I just hope everything is ok and it has two arms and legs and a nose! Not asking too much am I?
I have also been really seedy, still gagging and throwing up at the dishwasher and bin smells. I wasn't nearly this bad last time. I'm craving very healthy food this time, raw vegies and apples, etc so I'm happy about that.
My thighs are already spreading too. I remember that happening early on last time too.... ah well, the tummy needs extra support I suppose.

She was very active so it was fun to get to see her. We got a picture but it wasn't very good at all. Really glad I got to see her again:)

I have an appt tomorrow and will be able to go over things since coming back from the scare on vacay.
I seem to be struggling with yeast infections this time, I have only had 1 mild one in the past and BAM I got the worst one ever right before I left and have been fighting one again, just miserable and a totally new experience for me. I have been popping probiotics hoping to help keep it at bay.
I've also had my boobs fill out starting around 6 weeks with all my previous pregnancies but this time they didn't fill out until this last week. Seems like week 10 everything started to happen, now I'm 11 +4. Amazing how each pregnancy can bring new things. My mom is hoping this one is a girl since it's causing me more problems then I have ever had before.

Scan was perfect! Heartbeat of 157 and everything looked just as it should be. Sonographer guessed boy (70%), I wont deny I'm a teeny bit disappointed but I'll get over it. I've uploaded a pic in the ulstrasound section, would love your opinions too!

That is a cute name Peebell! We have our 12 week scan on May 12! I am nervous because I found out DS3's gender at the 12 week scan. My dad and a few family members recently have been telling me "you are having a 4th boy I just know it" :/ which I am fine with but ugh seriously. You know a want a girl so just rub it in that you "know" I can't. But good news we had DS3 Birthday party over the weekend and it was a lot of fun!

So has everyone already told their family that they are PG? I am telling family next weekend and I am getting really nervous. I think I am nervous because I am not sure what the reaction will be. Everyone has been so happy with the other three but since DD was born comments go from "are you having anymore" to "are you done" or "you are done right?". I told my neighbor last weekend and she seemed very excited. Anyone else feeling this way? What was the reaction from your family??

I wanted to keep it a secret between me and dh til 12 week scan, however the only people that don't know yet is our boys!! I've slowly told friends along the way. We've not announced on fb yet either. I told my parents and sister after my 6 week scan showed a hb. After the year I'd had by that point I knew I needed their support. My mums been to 2 reassurance scans with me. Dh has yet to see the baby at a scan yet. At least it'll resemble a baby on Monday and to be fair blobs don't get the same reaction from my dh. I was expecting some negativity in as much as I have my hands full with a full on toddler and running about after the big 2. But my mum and sister both said they knew I wasn't 'done'. Good luck wanting, it'll be different when your telling them about another dd on the way!! Xx

I do think they will be happy it is a girl. Right now my DD is the only granddaughter on both sides of the family so I think my Mom, SIL, and MIL will be happy to have another girl around. My Dad was super excited about my first DD and he loves spoiling little girls:) Maybe I am just worried because I think we are crazy for having another and having an oops at our age (we are both 39) and #4! To be honest though... none of our children have been "planned" so to speak. We start talking about having a baby and then we get a little carried away one night and it happens. We both really weren't planning on anymore kids and I was telling DH to go get snipped but he refuses:) What is even better is both of us are in the medical field  ... like we don't know how this happens or something?? Now that I have gotten use to the idea I am excited and want others to be excited too but just not sure if that will be the case.

Hi, I'm joining a bit late, have been on a bit of a break from gender dreaming since finding out I was pregnant. I'm due November 1 and am from Australia. We swayed for boy, we already have an almost 2 year old DD. I'm not convinced if I want to find out or not. I had really bad GD after finding out with DD and I don't think it's getting any better. Not sure how I'll be if I find out this one is a girl too, although I know we'll be fine & love her I guess I'm scared of how I will feel the last 20 weeks of this pregnancy...maybe I'm better off finding out at birth for that reason, keep the hope alive a bit longer! DH wants to find out though and I've had no luck convincing him otherwise. So I really don't know what we'll do. My 20 week scan isn't until mid June so a bit of time to decide. Anyway lovely to 'meet' you all on here!

Hi there,
Glad to say hello and meet everyone even though I have not been on for awhile since BFP but am due 11/7. Was glad to read your post, maria02, I think I'm in the same position as you, not wanting to know gender but wanting to know at the same time. I was planning on going team green, but last week got a call from my OB with my MaterniT21 results (everything looked good, yay!) and they asked if I wanted to know gender and I said no. But since that phone call I have been completely obsessed! I can't think about anything else knowing that they know and it's sitting right there in my file. I was determined to wait until delivery but now suddenly I'm feeling really anxious to know.
I don't know how it would be to get through the next 27 weeks of pregnancy if I hear boy, it's almost like I don't want to give up hope (even though I am almost certain it's a boy). I feel like once he arrives I will love him and be happy for a healthy baby, it's just the waiting and knowing beforehand that would be so hard. I also don't want to have to tell anyone when they ask as people have been overheard to say some ridiculously rude things! If I don't know I don't have to say or worry about any comments or sympathy. Once the baby arrives I feel like people soften a bit, watch what they say more, and are happy for you either way.
I'm thinking boy since we had more than one attempt at O (many months had gone by with only BPNs), baby has a slow heartbeat of 150 (I know this is old wive's tale, but still), and is measuring 3 days big at both ultrasounds (I know boys are typically bigger and I know when I O'd so not that). I have a nub shot which is actually 2 thick lines but it looks a lot like my DS nub shot so another reason to lean boy.
Is anyone else waiting to find out gender until delivery? Do you think you will actually make it that long!? What are your reasons to be surprised?
Peebell85
May 5th, 2014, 06:13 PM
Knowing how I felt after I heard boy and I thought 'I didnt mind either way' but ended up crying for 3 days, I think its best to not find out. And like you say, once they hand you your baby, you wont care about gender in that moment and the sting wont be as strong. But knowing they have the results would kill me too....,
coocoobananas
May 5th, 2014, 07:02 PM
Well that's where I am Gretta. I want to know badly so I can stop obsessing but reminded myself that if I hear boy, that's it. Final. Last time it did not go over well so I reminded myself that I only really want to know if it's what I want and well that's not good enough lol! Plus I love the idea of not knowing but it's forever away!!!!!!!
My plan at the anatomy is to get then to write it in my file so they'll have to peak around and maybe I'll see something too... But now I'm questioning what I saw at my nt so probably will just lead to obsessing again.
So in conclusion I have no advice I guess:/
grettasurfergirl
May 5th, 2014, 07:43 PM
LOL coco, that cracked me up. I am exactly the same way! It's like I only want them to tell me if it's a girl and if not, then no. And I WANT to see something at the anatomy scan (just like I am obsessing over 12 week nub) but at the same time it defeats the whole purpose of waiting! I might as well just ask them to read me my file if I want to know :) It does feel like we will be waiting forever but after reading Peebell's post, I think it's worth it!

I am not sure what to think about the torture you ladies are putting yourself though. You are so much stronger than I am. I always want to know as soon as possible. When I found out with DS2 at the 20 week scan I felt horrible. I felt so ungrateful that he was healthy. If I had waited until birth I know I would have had disappointment and I would have felt like a real jerk of a Mom. I love finding out through MaterniT21 since it is way before the anatomy scan. That way I can cry and cry and not feel guilty. You won't feel like you have to hide your feelings like at the anatomy scan or at the hospital when everyone is visiting you and some halfwit of a relative says something about the baby being another boy. On the other hand if it is a girl then waiting would be so wonderful and the best surprise ever. I just couldn't wait that long however, I do applaud you women who can do it!!!
coocoobananas
May 5th, 2014, 09:38 PM
I just know for me, I could care less what they are at birth, I've just instantly been taken over with them then. I do worry about after that a few weeks down the line but I really think I won't for some reason. I was set to do that last time but couldn't wait and I wished I had... So that's why I'm really trying this time! We will see if I make it!!!
kellbell827
May 6th, 2014, 10:36 AM
I really wanted to know early, as soon as possible even though I felt like deep down, it was a boy. I did feel some disappointment but it helped knowing early b/c now while I still hope to have another girl in a year or two, I can focus on my little man. I give all you ladies who are waiting a lot of credit! I am so impatient - there's no way I could be that patient!

I've always been scared that the day my son is born would be 'tainted' by my inner hope he was going to be a daughter and even a fleeting moment of sadness would be like cheating him out of what he deserves .... I'd feel guilty forever for that thought, so for me knowledge saves me from having that unforgivable (to me) thought. Also after birth, I don't want to be doing any of the things I can do in advance preparation wise for the baby, I'm just toooooo exhausted lol x

DH just told me he is getting me an early and 32 week 3D/4D ultrasound at a private place for Mothers day. We know the gender through MaterniT21 but I still want to confirm before I tell too many people. Plus they do some basic anatomy stuff so we can see that baby is looking healthy. That is going to be on May 23 which is a little over two weeks away. I really like this place and the ultrasound tech and gender is guaranteed. I am having a very hard time keeping the belly sucked in when I am at my son's baseball practices and games. I did not want to tell anyone at the school until the fall due to already having four, but I am not sure if I can hold out much longer. I had to dig out the maternity pants and realized I don't have much for summer as I have always been pregnant in the fall, winter and early spring (looks like I will have to convert some shorts and capris).

I didn't actually have a tech I got the actual Radiologist Dr who has been doing this for 40 years. He walked us through everything he saw as he saw it so we didn't have to wait for results. It was awesome and he was just so great and friendly! It was just such a great experience.
As for my feeling of fatness I think I'm just not used to showing at 3 months it's always taken until 4.5/5 months before I have a belly. I'm also finding that food is causing horrible bloating and heartburn. I've decided to go grain free and see if that helps the constant uncomfortable painful feeling I have daily in my gut.

Yay Tomgirl congrats! My nt scan is scheduled for Monday. My DH wants me to push it back because there is a chance he wouldn't be able to come. He didn't believe me with the nub theory until I proved it was right with DS3. Now he is all giddy at the chance we may find out and doesn't want to miss it. I really have not been nervous this entire pregnancy this far about gender until yesterday. I think finding out now we are having boy 4 would be mixed feelings. Good because I can get over the initial disappointment and get excited but then my dream of a girl is completely over. We planned 3 kids and this one is a total surprise. I just keep reminding myself no matter the gender, this baby has a reason to be here and is meant to be here, and that makes me feel better.

So I announced on Mothers Day that we were having another baby. We started off by telling DS1 right before we went over to my Moms house. That was a bad idea!! He had been in a bad mood all morning. I don't think he got enough sleep the night before. Anyway, when we told him it didn't go over very well. I felt so bad:( He said did didn't want another baby and started crying. We let him spend some alone time in his room while I got things ready to go over to my Moms. He seemed to be in a better mood by the time we left. It made me start questioning everything and I felt so bad that he was upset.
When we got to my Moms I had wrapped a black balloon that had a message for her on it. Basically telling her we were having another baby and to pop the balloon to find out if it was a boy or a girl. My Mom was a little beside herself and I could tell she was worried about me having another baby (my 3rd C-section was really terrible). But after I told her that my OB was completely okay with it and didn't have any worries she seemed to calm down a little bit. Everyone was really happy (even DS1) and was talking about baby names. All and all I think it went really well.
After we got home DS1 came up and gave me a big hug and asked when he could tell his friends. I told him he could tell them in a couple of weeks. I asked him if he was still upset or if he was excited... on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being upset and 10 being excited. He said it was an 8 so that was good. Made me feel a lot better that he wasn't feeling like we ruined his life:) He was completely fine this morning and didn't seem bothered at all. I think he was just having a bad morning yesterday:(

WantingPink, sorry to hear DS1 didn't take it well at first. He will come around and be happy to be a big brother again! Have my 12 week scan today. I am 12 weeks and 5 days, why do I feel nervous? I sort of hope I don't see a nub. I didnt want DH to go in case the tech would take a guess, but he insisted on being there. I know this office does guess if they can because a friend found out about her daughter at her NT scan. It is at 1pm today and I will update with photos after!
