Hi girls. I've read a lot about it being difficult to keep in protein and fat limits but I'm actually finding it difficult to get enough. Especially protein. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

Are you allowed quorn on the girl diet? Why don't you pay for a personalised diet plan? Xx

As long as it stays in my limits I'm sure I could. I don't know what it is though. I think maybe it's like tofu? I would love to but hubby doesn't want to pay for it. He's fine with me swaying but says we don't have the money to pay for it with no garantee that it'd work =\ so annoying since I think it's totally worth it but I don't want to push him too far and get him totally against swaying altogether.

I have trouble too! I find it ridiculously difficult to find foods that go well together for the day and I am picky too, so it doesn't help. I just want my cheeseburgers back!

Omg I know it makes me crazy when hubby goes out and gets one grrr lol. So I wonder how bad it is if we come in under our minimum? I almost never meet my requirements entirely

Just want to clarify, I do not do personalized diet plans. We talked about it but soon realized we would ahve to charge a small fortune and I would only be able to help a few people at a time that way. The Custom Plans are everything BUT diet (there are diet tips in the plans though) and then I help people with their diet in an ongoing fashion via the 6 months of coaching that comes with the Custom Plans.

It is bad. It is worse than if you go over. Those minimums are there for your safety and to drop below them is dangerous for your health, your fertiliy, and the health of your unborn child. Please do not drop below the minimums.

Thank you atomic. I was afraid of egg whites for protein but I'll prolly add that to my diet on a regular basis. I think fat is much easier to get enough of than protein.

Is it okay to get a higher level of protein one day and be below another day? So say I have a chicken breast and such and my protein is over the LE limit for one day and under the next, does it even out in nutrition body wise or not?

Dairy has a lot if protein and you could get low fat or non fat versions to avoid going over on fat. Beans also have a lot of protein, as does hummus and peanut butter but watch fat. A tiny bit of chicken might help on days you're really low.

My biggest issue with it all is that I feel I need to eat so much "junk" to get the fat. There isn't fat in rice and pastas or veggies. I don't enjoy stuffing my face with processed sugars and fake treats, I had always prided myself in baking from scratch and eating real food, haha. So to get enough calories and fat I am filling up on poptarts and oreos. eww.
My toast or bagels for lunch with a yogurt and some veggies wasn't giving me nearly enough calories, it is just frustrating but I won't drop the diet.

I don't want you to go below the day's minimums on protein if you can possibly avoid it so no, for that reason, I don't think it's ok.

I strongly recommend having a look at the "quick fixes" thread or getting the diet book, they will really help with this.
Fat is the EASIEST thing to get. all you need to do is add a little oil or butter to some of those foods or mayo on a sandwich.

example, butter or marg on toast or mixed in with rice
veggies sauteed in oil
salad with salad dressing
full fat cream chees on bagel
full fat yogurt
these things will give you BOTH fat and calories for equal amount of protein

okay yes, thank you. I started putting butter on stuff last night to get me where I need to be. Protein will still be difficult as I don't like hummus or beans and can't have dairy.
Would a protein bar from the grocery store have too much other nutrition in it?? I am just trying to find something to bump my levels. I come out at about 20 a day unless I really push it and eat more than I want to.

Rosie85 I have the same problem. I read the quick fixes though and it really helped. Egg whites have lots of protien for almost no calories and no fat! 6 g protien and only 15 calories for one egg white. I plan to have 2-4 egg whites every day now depending on how low I am on protein. It's gunna save me I think.

okay everyone here is going to think I am sooo picky!! I hate food that doesn't have flavor. Egg whites would make me puke. They have to have garlic and butter and cheese or onions for me to touch them. I have noticed when you doctor food up you run out of fat real fast and then don't make your calories for the day.
Seriously no wonder I have boys. I like food and I make it taste damn good and then I eat a lot of it.

I don't really like just the whites either but if you mix it in with something like rice or baked potato with salt and peper and maybe some herbs it really helps. I Also use Tabasco or salsa to mask the flavor. This diet has been a huge change in the way I cook

oh cool ideas, thanks prayingpink!
I have changed everything about the way I cook too. Not in a good way in my opinion. The thing I like best that has changed is my exercising and not snacking anymore which I def needed to stop. Also we stopped eating out which was full of fat and gave me too many calories for the day. I am excited to incorporate my two lifestyles together after I get pregnant and eat all my old normal food but in a more reserved manner!

Ok with the protein bars, I do think the fortified ones are too fortified but there are the unfortified ones like Larabars and those I believe can fit into a pink sway diet.

oh great I will look into those! I just have some days where I am so short on the dang protein. I HATE eating the same things everyday so there is no finding the right food and sticking to it for me. Today I am good on protein and will have over 30 grams for the day.

you need to be over 40 grams. It's 40-50 g for LE Diet. I am not sure where that 30 g protein has come from, several people keep telling me that so I assume maybe IG has that written somewhere but it's wrong. LE Diet minimum is 40-50 g protein and no less than that, it is the minimum safe protein intake for a healthy pregnancy. :)

a spoonful of pb? wheat bread has 5g of protein per slice- I love eggs but I ate one everyday last time(staying within limits) I was nursing and still trying to eat well but I just think eggs are too darn good for you lol so if i have them it won't be daily. you could have an omelette(w/ or w/o cheese) and all the veggies you mentioned would be a nice lunch.
