I did some research about egg quality and such and find it interesting.
Like this site show how the egg is preparing for O and how to help the quality of the egg. It's interesting.

So let say I want to ttc in Oct. then I better start taking care of that egg in Aug. because that's the egg Im going to release in Oct. right?
Take all the sups , vit. do the diet and all so the egg will be all healthy and ready ( and hopefully boy friendly for me) for conception on O day, right?

This is why I chose to take... Folic Acid, Iron, A, E, B6, and C. And the girl friendly ones like Calcium and Mag. I eat the minium amount of other nutrients needed for healthy like Potassium. I would the happiest person in the world if I have a girl to complete my family but no matter what I have I want a healthy baby.
I also take herbs for nursing and Raspberry leaf because they all help baby oven health... most likely why I carried both boys a week+ after their due dates.

Egg life-cycle is 90 days- that is why I recommend taking any swaying supps atleast that long to help out- for quality purposes for anyone struggling with that, absolutely atleast 90 days to take affect.

This is so good to know! Im glad I started all this early so maybe I can wire the egg to favor a little Y hopefully.
So when ppl say they sway and try in the same month it really don't do to much for that egg I guess.

Does this mean if I am not pregnant this cycle, I will have to wait 90 days as I went off supps/diet in the TWW??

I would think no because you was on it for the rest of the time right? Yeah 2 weeks missing but there is the other 2 and a half months when you did it all. And you go back on for another 2 weeks till the next O.
At least I hope it's like this...This is why we don't stop the diet in the 2ww.

NO. But I prefer that people stay on most of the diet during the 2WW anyway (with obvious exceptions for sodium and other things that are not healthy for a little baby bean) because of the blood sugar stuff.

That's a big reason why I'm trying to make a more healthy diet, so people can stay on the diets for several months at a time while their eggs and sperm develop, without making themselves sick or overweight.
But there are a lot of other things that potentially sway that have nothing to do with the egg at all.
CM, blood sugar, pH, sperm count and number can all be affected by diet/swaying in the short term and have nothing to do with making an egg more or less friendly to the X or Y sperm and yet they still seem to sway.
Researchers have looked into the idea that an egg is somehow "primed" to receive a sperm of a certain gender and as of yet, have not witnessed this happening. http://www.biolreprod.org/content/early/2008/06/25/biolreprod.108.070169.full.pdf Also, most people going HT seem to get fairly equal numbers of XX and XY, even the moms who have several of one gender seem to end up with both. This leads me to think that it's not the egg attracting X or Y sperm, some other factor is what is doing the swaying, and it may very well be things that are easily controlled with 6 weeks of diet/supps rather than the full 90 days.

For egg quality, I TOTALLY agree!!! 90 days at the least.

Just gotta point out that I will never ever ever tell anyone to do or eat any diet that I do not 100% believe is safe for pregnancy/prepregnancy.

I know there are other things! Is just we only talked about the egg here.

So the you would say why bother to try to make the egg "boy friendly"?

Yeah you know maybe we end up with both gender but when? After 10 kids? We just can't do that right?
Oh and why would you say to do 6 weeks and not 90 days? Why is 6 weeks better?

1)Oh I know, I'm sorry if that wasn't clear.
2)No, I don't say why bother at all and I have mentioned the 90 day thing on several threads, but I just don't want for anyone to panic and think their sway is ruined if they didn't do the whole 90 days or if they can't stick to the diet for that long. It may not even make any difference at all, it may be much more important to control CM and sperm count anyway.
3)I totally understand and I get that not everyone can or wants to try forever for their DG and so a lot of people will want to pull out all the stops and do everything. But some of the supps are just not healthy so I don't want people to stay on them any longer than necessary (like the sodium/baking soda) and also the girl diet is really really hard for people to stay on, so if it only takes 6 weeks to get most of the benefits, then I only want people to stay on them for 6 weeks. There's also the idea that the longer people try to stick to the diets the more likely they are to cheat and that's not good either.
I would much rather people hit it hard on diet/supps for 6 weeks and go for it, than try to do 90 days, get tired of it, cheat, run out of weight to lose for pink or gain too much for blue, and make themselves sick, esp. since I haven't seen any overwhelming evidence that 90 days is even necessary. In an ideal world it would be great to do the diets for 90 days but I guess I am trying to be more practical and think of what is really doable for most people.

Oh ok I see. So I guess it's ok to do the boy diet for 90 days if we can but 6 weeks is ok too? And we can do the 90 day diet but do the hard sups and drinks (if we need the drinks) just for 6 weeks, right?
Im on the diet (well I hope I do it the right way) already for a wile now and I only ttc in Oct. but I eat cereal with a little milk, some cheese sometimes . trying to do the 9 serving fruit and veggie every day , drinking green tea , juice and taking none hormone sups . Also DH do the same.
We both feel healthier and better:suprise:
So I guess it's ok to stay like this and when is time to ttc do the 90 day or 6 week 'hard" stuff?

Flava FWIW that is exactly my approach ... I did diet for months and months (since about 10/10) with the occasional sweet indulgence, but really focused on upping fruits/veggies and protein more than limiting dairy or magnesium. But during those months, since I knew we were not attempting, I never did BSF or BSD or ASG or any of that.
So the month we attempted....I did ASG Af-O, and did BSF an hour before DTD. I also did ACV 2x a day Af-O. Oh and I did 1 BSD af-o.
The only supps I took were fish oil, EPO af-o, and a prenatal. I did those for months prior TTC, and then the month of I did mucinex AF-O. And of course I took FA!! 2400 mcg a day.
Glad to hear you and DH are feeling well on the diet! Your meals always look amazing so I'm not surprised!
