16 week 4/5day gender ultrasound.....opinions please

We were told gender, but I'm not completely convinced. What do you ladies think?

There's not a great deal happening between the legs on the top pic and the bottom pic I see three horizontal lines where the thigh is.....thoughts please anyone.....

I am stumped on this one the top picture looks like I see something the bottom is not a very good between the legs shot. My gut is saying girl but that is just a guess. Congrats!

I don't think you have a boy. Looks like the nub hasn't fully retracted into a vagina yet, but does have a girl look. Best to wait till 18weeks.

Based on those 2 pictures, I would insist that you're having a girl, not a boy

Briny,my thoughts exactly. Will go for my morphology scan probably between 19-20 weeks,so things should be more definite. I have had a girl feeling right from the beginning and I don't feel confident in saying this bubba is a boy when I feel at this stage there should be more showing between the legs. Looking on the net for other ultrasounds even boys at 15 weeks have a more pronounced nether region than my baby.

This is a picture of a girls genitals at 17weeks, as you can see the nub is still protruding. So best wait :)
I'd be more inclined to go off your instincts anyway :)

Cant determine gender from those pics. Do you have any pics between the legs? How confident was the tech with her boy guess? Sometimes things are more obvious in a live scan rather than still pictures. Best wishes!

16873Potty shot. Even this one is debatable to me I can't see the classic turtle head that should be there at this gestation. While watching the scan, this was the most that could be seen between the legs. Shouldn't there be more if it really is a boy?

To me that is not a definitive boy shot. I've had three boys and they are nothing like that one. There should be more there than that.

I agree Sweetdream, am curious who might be revealed at my next scan :happy: To me there isn't enough there to declare boy,so the lady I paid for a gender determination should have either spent more time looking or said it might be too early for this little one and to come back.

Thanks Aidansmum,but I didn't think the nub was there at this gestation.

Prayingpink,did you see the 3d pic? I think it shows a clitoris that hasn't fully retracted yet and not a penis.

Yes I saw the 3d pic and that's what I meant. I think a 3d pic of a boy would be more obvious at this point if it was a boy so that's why I'm leaning girl.

Sorry Prayingpink, I misunderstood. That is exactly what I thought too. Having had three boys I have become quite good at spotting boy bits on ultrasound,and I just could not/can't see it. Having said that this baby looks nothing like my boys or my girl.......but it has to be one or the other :bigsmile:

Yes I really do think it's a girl but we will know spine enough for sure :) keep me posted and my fingers are crossed
