So I have been on bc pills since last April. Since the change from the IUD my menstrual cycles are only 1 1/2 days long. (With the IUD they were 3 days long, before that they were 5days long)Since we want to start trying in May, I was thinking about stopping bc pills to be able to track my cycle properly and to see if the pills are my cause for such short cycles. Why? Because I have no idea if extremely short menstrual cycles have anything to do with fertility/conception.
So the question is should I stop taking them and see what happens to my cycles, or even if the length has anything to do with anything?
Also when should I stop taking my multi-vitamins?
TIA

Birth control pills really mess up your cycle. You're basically not cycling at all when you're on BC pills and the bleeding is just "withdrawal bleeding" from not being on meds. They also thin your uterine lining so you have less to slough off during your period anyway. I'm sure that's why your periods are short. You'll have no idea what your cycles are really like until you've been off bc pills for a while. It took my body 6 months to ovulate after coming off bc pills which my OB said was normal. So you may want to get off them now and start tracking your cycles if you want to TTC soon. I'd Stop taking vitamins now if you're TTC pink!

Have you been on BCP before. Because everyone doesn't take a few months to start cycling. Some women get a boost of fertility the 1st month off the pill and some girl swayers plan on trying to catch that 1st egg as part of their sway as you are more girl friendly straight off BCP.

My DD was a OHW 1st cycle off BCP

That was my original plan, to catch the first egg for reasons you explained. No I have never been on bcp before. Thank you!!

I think the first egg after BCP would definitely sway pink but don't get discouraged if it takes you a while to O!

The BC pills make for weird cycles for the reasons that Carmella and Pearl already mentioned (thanks ladies!!). I would not worry about it, it has nothing to do with your fertility off the pills.

I would wean off the multivitamins asap.

TTC the month or two coming off BCP may help your pink sway and it would be a big step in the wrong direction to come off of them ahead of when you're even wanting to TTC just to check on your cycle length.

I do not think there is any benefit for tracking cycles in advance of TTC for a pink sway. None at all and it may even HARM your odds of success by giving something to stress and obsess over.
