Horrible taste in mouth! YUCK!

Nausea has started with the pg and now I have this nasty taste in my mouth. It is almost like it is making me crave lemons to balance it out or something. But, it is making me even more nauseous and making it harder to eat or drink anything. Has anyone had this and what do you do to stop it?

I had a horrible taste last pregnancy. All I ever could read up on it was a metallic taste but that wasn't what I tasted!!! To be honest it was so foul, like something rotting:/ only thing to mellow it a little was to chew cinnamon gum:( and it by noeans fixed it! Sorry I wish I had a remedy!!

I had that too and it last about 2 weeks, it was disgusting, it tasted like blood, and old fizzy drink, I am still disgusted by coke because of it :) Tic tacs help, and mint pearls, the ones you swallow. Hope it passes soon.

I hope it only lasts 2 weeks!! I had to stop drinking my sparkling ice water b/c I can't take it!

Smells this time are off the chart too and any little thing is just driving me out of my mind (especially my dogs and the poopy diapers). I can still smell the poopy diaper like an hour later after it is out in the trash in the garage!

Oh yes, ugh you just reminded me of it boy I don't miss it, I had it for both boys in the first trimester and to be honest the whole pregnancy for DD, I had to suck on citrus vitamin c drops throughout the day just not to have that taste in my mouth!

Thanks! Maybe it's a Girl? My nausea and that nasty taste in my mouth was way worse for the girl! :fingers:

I too had that for a little bit with my last pregnancy. Drove me crazy bananas!! Hoping it passes soon for you. I agree with the others..sucking on candy and such is about all there is to do. That I am aware of anyhow.

I had this too with ds3 & found that sucking on boiled fruit sweets was the only thing that helped. Mints made me feel nauseous. I hope it goes away soon for you.

I've had a weird taste as well, though it doesn't seem to happen as much any more. Mine seems to be more like an aftertaste...almost fruity like but not in a good way!

Didn't want to jinx myself before today but last few days I have that horrid taste too, but mine is more metallic tasting. The roof of my mouth feels constantly dry even though I'm drinking plenty... Urgh x

I also have a funny taste but mine seems more metallic too. I have been drinking a lot of water and spearmint lifesavers are my best friend. It's not as bad now as it was really early on but I still notice it at night.

I have this constant drainage down my throat too that is thick and gross. It makes me gag all the time!!

A metallic taste in my mouth is always my first pregnancy symptom! As soon as I notice this I know I am pregnant for sure. Fingers crossed for you if you are in a 2ww!!
