Sigh. We just finished month 4. We were loosely swaying for a boy for our first, but I'm starting to get concerned about my fertility in general. We are 26, and 27, and healthy other than needling to lose a good 15lbs of happy weight! I have normal 28-30 day cycles usually, but it seems I have a short lp with ovulation on day 16 or 17. For this next month, I'm trying to decide whether to take maca root to increase fertility, or soy isoflavones for stronger o, and more mature eggs. I've read not to fool with soy if you have normal cycles, as it can really screw it up! I do not temp, as I wake up all times of the night. I use the clear blue fertility monitor. Any thoughts on which one? We just want a baby!

Maca is good for balancing hormones and could possibly lengthen your LP so I would give that a go. I use it myself and a woman I talked to had twins naturally after taking that where She had to have IVF with her first 2 children.

Neither. I think soy can sway pink and maca has too many unknowns for me to recommend using it at this point in time.
If you are ovulating on CD 16 and having a 28-30 day LP that is fine. 12-14 days is normal LP. And you can get pregnant with 10-12 day LP, not optimal but still very possilbe. only when it drops below 10 days do you need to take action. I would HATE to see you doing anything to fix a problem that doens't exist.
Please tell me about everything you are doing for your sway so I can tell you what to tweak to up odds of conception. Especially timing, frequency, baking soda or egg whites...

Ah thanks for your reply! I won't take either of them today then. I took one of each last night on cd 3. We are doing a pretty loose sway. Heavy on the protein, strength training instead of cardio, my diet is pretty much a boy diet in general. We try to do the spree meets egg plan each month with a miss here and there but generally hit o-2, o-1, and o. No baking soda, or egg whites.

Is there any way to have DH have a sperm analysis??
Everything looks great to me, are you using Preseed/Conceive Plus?? And Robitussin/Mucinex? They may help. (both to conceive and also to up odds of conception)

We added in preseed at month two and love it! I'll look into the sperm analysis for DH. I don't think he will be up to get one done this soon though. Might hurt his ego!

I totally understand, I just wanted to toss out the possibility because I have seen a few people go on month after month and thinking that swaying was somehow the cause, but then it turned out to be DH.
